Abstract

The Traditional medicine in Bali is a concept of Balinese culture that is used for generations. Usada is a knowledge of traditional Balinese medicine as a source of concepts to solve problems in the health sector. Healing (usada) is found in lontar called lontar usada. Lontar Usada Kacacar is one of the usada which discusses smallpox. The purpose of this study is to find out information contained in Lontar Usada Kacacar. Information includes the type of smallpox, treatment ingredients, dosage form and method of use. In addition, in research can be inform a plants that are used as traditional smallpox drugs. Healing in Bali is based on lontar, the research this time was carried out on eaves of Usada Kacacar. This research was conducted descriptively to the translation of Lontar Usada Kacacar translated by I Gusti Ngurah Wiriawan, S.S. The results of the translation of Lontar Usada Kacacar made in table form include the types of smallpox, medicinal herbs, how to use and use spells. The results of the table found information on 100 medicinal herbs, 75 types of smallpox, 107 types of plants, 10 types of methods of use and 16 methods of treatment accompanied by spells.

Abstract

Petani garam di Pantai Suwung Batan Kendal adalah petani garam tradisional yang memproduksi garam dengan membersihkan dan mengkristalkan kembali garam tambang yang didatangkan dari Madura. Proses pembersihan dan pengkristalan dilakukan secara tradisional dan sangat sederhana sehinggatidakdilakukankontrolprosesproduksi dankontrol kualitas produk yangdihasilkan. Dalam Program Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat (IbM) dilakukan perbaikan sistem produksi dengan mengendalikan beberapa faktor, seperti kualitas air yang digunakan, pelarutan dan penyaringan air garam jenuh, termasuk efisiensi penggunaan kayu bakar, serta pemanfaatan panas tungku dalam pengeringan produk garam jadi. Kualitas produk akhir diukur kandungan cemaran logam berat, cemaran mikroba, dan kadar air sehingga memenuhi standar baku produk garam yang aman dikonsumsi. Diversifikasi produk garam yang dihasilkan akan dibuat dengan memproduksi garam beryodium, garam meja, dan garam mandi. Produksi garam beryodium akan meningkatkan peluang pemasaran produk petani garam untuk dijual ke pasar tradisional. Produk garam meja akan dipasarkan ke restoran yang banyak dikembangkan di kawasan Bali Selatan, sedangkan garam mandi merupakan produk baru yang sangat potensial untuk dipasarkan ke perawatan kecantikan. Diharapkan dengan memastikan kualitas produk, efisiensi proses produksi, dan diversifikasi produk akan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani garam di Pantai Suwung Batan Kendal. The salt farmers of SuwungBatan Kendal Beach are traditional salt farmers who produce salt by cleaning and recrystallizing mine salt imported from Madura. The cleaning and crystallization process is done in a traditional way and is so simple, the production process and the quality control of the resulting product can not be controlled. In the IBM (IpteksBagiMasyarakat) Program there will be improvement of the production system by controlling for several factors, such as the quality of water used, the dissolution and filtration of saturated brine, including the efficiency of the use of firewood, and the utilization of furnace heat in drying the finished salt product. The quality of the final product is measured a heavy metal content, microbial, and water content so that it will meet the raw standard of salt products that are safe for consumption. Diversification of salt products produced will be made by producing iodized salt, table salt, and bath salt. The production of iodized salt will increase the marketing opportunities of salt farmers' products to be sold to traditional markets. Table salt products will be marketed to restaurants that are widely developed in the area of South Bali, while bath salt is a new product that is very potential to be marketed to beauty care. It is expected that by ensuring product quality, efficiency of production process, and product diversification will be able to increase income and welfare of salt farmers in SuwungBatan Kendal Beach.

Abstract

Pelayanan kesehatan yang baik dapat meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan individu. Kesehatan merupakan bagian yang penting guna meningkatkan kualitas hidup dari masing-masing individu. Pelayanan kefarmasian merupakan salah satu bagian dari pelayanan kesehatan. Apotek merupakan salah satu sarana atau tempat pelayanan kefarmasian khususnya pelayanan resep. Apotek Kimia Farma sendiri merupakan apotek yang sudah dikenal oleh masyarakat luas khususnya di Bali dengan pelayanan yang ramah, sikap yang baik, kejelasan, dan ketepatan pemberian informasi yang lengkap, kecepatan dan ketelitian dalam pelayanan. Penelitian tentang tingkat kepuasan pasien terhadap pelayanan resep di Apotek kimia Farma 286 Padang Asri merupakan penelitian deskriptif menggunakan kuisioner yang disebarkan kepada 50 responden yang melakukan pengambilan obat dengan resep di apotek tersebut. Penilaian didasarkan pada 5 (lima) dimensi yaitu dimensi responsiveness (ketanggapan pelayanan), dimensi reliability (keandalan pelayanan), dimensi assurance (keyakinan/jaminan), dimensi empathy (perhatian untuk memahami kebutuhan pelanggan) dan dimensi tangible (sarana fisik, perlengkapan dan pegawai). Dari hasil perhitungan dan analisa data yang diperoleh skor rata-rata pada setiap indikator sebagai berikut indikator responsiveness dengan skor rata-rata 3,14 dengan klasifikasi puas, indikator reliability dengan skor rata-rata 3,13 dengan klasifikasi puas, indikator assurance dengan skor rata-rata 3,28 dengan klasifkasi sangat puas, indikator empathy dengan skor rata-rata 3,17 dengan klasifikasi puas, indikator tangible dengan skor rata-rata 3,19 dengan klasifikasi puas. Secara keseluruhan diperoleh skor rata-rata 3,18 dengan klasifikasi konsumen puas dengan pelayanan kefarmasian di apotek kimia farma 286 padang asri.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan uji aktivitas antiradikal bebas ekstrak etanol bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) dari suku Zingiberaceae dengan metode DPPH. Bunga kecombrang dimaserasi dengan bantuan gelombang ultrasonik menggunakan pelarut etanol 80%. Uji aktivitas antiradikal bebas dilakukan menggunakan 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) secara KLT autografi dan spektrofotometri UV-VIS. Hasil pengujian secara KLT autografi menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bunga kecombrang memiliki aktivitas antiradikal bebas. Hasil skrining fitokimia yang dilakukan bersamaan dengan KLT autografi menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas antiradikal bebas ekstrak etanol bunga kecombrang disebabkan oleh kandungan senyawa flavonoid, terpenoid dan tanin. Hasil pengujian secara spektrofotometri UV-VIS menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bunga kecombrang aktif sebagai antiradikal bebas dengan nilai IC50 = 47,82 ppm. Ekstrak etanol bunga kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) memiliki aktivitas antiradikal bebas sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50 = 47,82 ppm yang disebabkan oleh kandungan senyawa golongan flavonoid, terpenoid dan tanin.

Abstract

CHARACTERIZATION OF GOLD NANOPARTICLES FROM CLOVE FLOWER WATER EXTRACT AND ITS ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY. Green chemistry is a safe and cost effective method for producing metal nanoparticles, characterize and tested the antioxidant activity of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). In this research gold nanoparticles were synthesized using HAuCl₄ as the gold precursor and water extract of Syzygium aromaticum (L.) flowers 0.5% as the bioreductor. Characterization of the gold nanoparticles was carried out using UV-Vis spectrophotometer to measure the maximum wavelength, zeta analyzer to determine the particle size, and SEM EDS to investigate the morphology and content of the gold nanoparticles. The antioxidant activity was determined by measuring its free radical scavenging activity using the DPPH method. The research found the AuNPs has a maximum wavelength at 533 nm, and particle size of 73.52 nm. Furthermore, the AuNPs show free radical scavenging activities of up to 70%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Nanopartikel perak (NPAg) dibuat dengan metode green synthesis dengan memanfaatkan bahan alam sebagai bioreduktor, seperti daun cemcem. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu memanfaatkan ekstrak air daun cemcem (Spondias pinnata (L.f) Kurz.) sebagai bioreduktor untuk pembentukan nanopartikel perak dan menguji aktivitasnya sebagai antibakteri. Proses ini dimulai dengan mencampur ekstrak konsentrasi 0,5; 0,75; dan 1% dengan larutan 1 mM AgNO3 dengan perbandingan 1:10. Campuran dipanaskan dengan suhu 25; 40; dan 60°C. NPAg dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis dimana hasil menunjukkan bahwa panjang gelombang NPAg antara 416 – 435 nm. Hasil PSA menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 0,5% dengan suhu 60°C menghasilkan partikel dengan ukuran yang paling kecil yaitu sebesar 30,56 ± 0,24 nm. Pengujian antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa NPAg memiliki daya hambat yang tergolong sedang (6-10 mm). ABSTRACT: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are made by green synthesis method by utilizing natural materials as bioreductants, such as cemcem leaves. The purpose of this study were to utilize the aqueous extract of the leaves of cemcem (Spondias pinnata (L.f) Kurz.) as a bioreductor for the formation of silver nanoparticles and to test its antibacterial activity. This process is started by mixing the extract concentration 0.5; 0.75; and 1% with 1 mM AgNO3 solution with a ratio of 1:10. The mixture was heated at temperature of 25; 40; and 60°C. AgNPs were characterized using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer where the results showed that the AgNPs wavelength was between 416 – 435 nm. The PSA results showed that the use of extracts with a concentration of 0.5% at a temperature of 60°C produced particles with the smallest size of 30.56 ± 0,24 nm. Antibacterial testing showed that AgNPs had moderate inhibitory power (6-10 mm).

Abstract

Dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has polyphenols as an antioxidant. It has known that the antioxidant content of dragon fruit peels was more than in the flesh, so it can be used as a source of natural antioxidants to replace synthetic antioxidants. The use of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel, especially as topical preparations in the form of body butter, was still rarely done, whereas dragon fruit peel as an antioxidant can be used as an active ingredient of cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to obtain the body butter formula of ethanol extract of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel and its physical quality evaluation, to know the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel and its body butter. This research was an experimental study with the stages of research consisting of determination of native plants, making ethanol extract of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel, ensuring its activity antioxidant, performing body butter formulation procedures, carrying out physical quality evaluation such as organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spread, protection, and adhesion ability, then antioxidant activity of its body butter. The result of this research showed that the ethanol extract of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel has a moderate level of antioxidant (Antioxidant Activity Index / AAI = 0,88). Furthermore, body butter which has contains antioxidant content of ethanol extract of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel as much as 0.5% has the best physical quality evaluation during storage and the highest AAI (0,54) among other body butter formulas.

Abstract

Tofu is one type of food made from soybeans which is widely consumed and even favored by the people of Indonesia. Based on research conducted in Manado City Health Market in 2017, 92.86% of white tofu sold in the market positively contains formalin. The high content of formalin will poison the body, cause stomach irritation, allergies, are carcinogenic (causing cancer) and are mutagenic (causing changes in cell function). In this research, a simple way to reduce formalin levels in tofu will be developed, namely immersion with turmeric water, vinegar, and salt water in formalin tofu samples (simulated samples). Optimization will be carried out on the soaking time to get the most optimal conditions to reduce the levels of formalin in tofu. The simulation sample was treated with turmeric water, vinegar and salt water for 15, 30, and 60 minutes and then tested with fehling and tollens reagents. Quantitative tests were also performed using UV-VIS spectrophotometry using chromatrophic acid reagents. Qualitative test results showed a decrease in formalin levels after soaking with turmeric water, vinegar and salt water for 60 minutes. Quantitative test results, immersion of turmeric water, vinegar and salt water for 60 minutes showed a decrease in formalin concentrations by 22.56%, 25.54% and 55.33%.

Abstract

African leaves (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) are reported to have activity as anti-malarial, antibacterial, anticancer, antioxidant, and others. This is closely related to the secondary metabolite compounds, that are contained in african leaves. One of the secondary metabolites that have a big role in the efficacy of african leaves is flavonoids. So that the purpose of this study, to isolated and identified the flavonoid compounds from african leaves. The plants were picked directly in the Tabanan area, Bali. The stages of this study were making the ethanol extract of african leaves, skrinning of the secondary metabolite compounds from the ethanol extract of african leaves. After that, the isolation and purification of flavonoids in ethyl acetate fraction from extract of african leaves are doing. Then the isolate of flavonoid compounds are identified using Ultra Violet-Visible (UV-Vis) and Infrared (IR) spectrophotometer methods. From the results of this study, the yield of ethanol extract was 3.693% derived from maceration of African leaf simplicia powder using 96% ethanol as solvent. The results of phytochemical screening, African leaf ethanol extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, steroids, and saponins. The results of the fractionation obtained n-hexane fraction as much as 2.57 grams, ethyl acetate fraction 0.53 grams, and water fraction as much as 3.02 grams. The flavonoid compounds in the ethyl acetate fraction were separated and isolated, resulting in 2 isolates which were further identified by UV-Vis and IR spectrophotometry. The results obtained with the addition of shear reagents that the ethyl acetate fraction contains flavonoids of the flavone group (7-hydroxyl free), and on examination by IR spectrophotometry showed the presence of OH groups, aliphatic CH, C=O, aromatic C=C, CO alcohol, and aromatic CH.
