Abstract

The demand for electrical energy in Indonesia is growing, and therefore more effort is required to fulfill this need. Indonesia has considerable hydropower potential due to its geographical location and climate, by utilizing areas that have this potential to support the government's renewable energy program to provide electricity to the community. Impeller turbines are one option in an effort to create renewable energy generation. In this study, a comparison of the number of turbine blades was carried out using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method, three models are 11, 13, and 15 blade impeller turbines designed at water with a runner diameter of 200 mm, blade thickness of 2 mm and an angle of 30 degrees then simulated using Comsol Multiphysics against different water flow rates. The simulation results show that the 11-bladed turbine model I has better performance because it has a lower pressure value but has a better velocity value compared to the two models simulated

Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions has driven the adoption of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in various industries, including aquaculture. This study designs and simulates a solar power system for small-scale catfish (Lele) pond operations using the System Advisor Model (SAM). The methodology includes assessing energy requirements, selecting system components, conducting simulations, and performing an economic feasibility analysis. The results indicate that the designed 12-panel, 3-battery solar system effectively meets the pond’s daily energy demand while ensuring continuous operation during low sunlight conditions. The SAM simulation confirms stable electricity generation throughout the year, with seasonal variations minimally affecting efficiency. The economic analysis reveals that PLTS costs Rp. 150,365 per month, compared to Rp. 151,620 for PLN electricity, showing small but valuable long-term savings. Despite the high initial investment, solar power offers price stability, energy independence, and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. This study demonstrates that solar energy is a viable, cost-effective, and sustainable alternative for aquaculture operations. Future research should focus on optimizing system efficiency and integrating hybrid energy solutions to further enhance performance and financial benefits.

Abstract

Abstract is arranged in one paragraph, single line spacing with Times New Criminal acts, particularly home burglaries—whether in occupied or unoccupied houses—are still frequently reported. This pushes homeowners to be more vigilant in securing their properties. Despite technological advancements, especially in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT), existing home security systems are still not fully effective. This research proposes a home security system called HERO (Home Reliability Operations) based on IoT, which operates automatically and in real-time. The system uses a PIR sensor to detect movement, an ESP32-CAM OV2640 for visual monitoring, and a buzzer as an alarm alert. To secure entry points, magnetic switch sensors and solenoid door locks are installed on doors and windows. All components are controlled by a NodeMCU ESP32 as the central processor and connectivity hub, and the system is integrated with the Blynk platform for remote monitoring and control via an Android application. This system is expected to improve home security by enabling early detection of suspicious activity and providing real-time alerts to homeowners.

Abstract

Palm oil plantations are one of the important sectors in the growth of the economy in Indonesia. One of the palm oil plantation areas in the Pasaman Barat Regency is being developed with an estimated land area of 100 hectares. However, due to the location of the land being far from settlements, there is currently no electricity supply that can be used for the operational needs of the land. This research provides a solution for the planning of an Off-Grid solar power plant (PLTS). The method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative research type. Based on the calculations, the number of PV panels obtained was 14 units and produces a total power of 2.397,89 W, SCC capacity calculation obtained 35 A, Battery capacity 12V/100Ah 2 units, and inverter 3 kW to produce AC voltage. The calculation of the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for material needs amounts to Rp. 21.986.000. This result indicates that the planning of the solar power system is feasible for the long-term operational needs of the plantation, which only requires initial construction capital.

Abstract

— In this modern era, numerous buildings require effective and intelligent energy management solutions. An automatic control system for lighting and HVAC based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has been developed with the aim of improving energy efficiency in learning spaces. The system is designed to ensure the lighting intensity meets the standards set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) (≈250 lux), with an ideal room temperature of 22°C–26°C. The device consists of five Wemos D1 Mini units connected to DHT22 sensors to detect temperature and humidity, and BH1750 sensors to measure light intensity. All components are centrally controlled using an ESP32 microcontroller. Data is transmitted via MQTT protocol, which can be monitored in real-time through Blynk application. The implementation method includes literature study, prototype design and assembly, programming, hardware and electrical assembly, performance testing, evaluation, and final project reporting. This system allows five lamps and one air conditioner to operate automatically according to predefined parameters. The test results show that the light intensity reached 264.8 lux in the morning and 263.9 lux in the afternoon with four lamps on, which meets the classroom lighting standard. Meanwhile, the HVAC test produced an average room temperature of 30.6°C, which did not significantly affect energy efficiency. However, the system was still able to reduce power consumption by approximately 39% compared to manual operation. The implementation of IoT in this system is expected to support the realization of smart buildings that are more efficient and environmentally friendly

Abstract

Conventional shoe drying methods still rely on weather conditions, making them less effective especially during the rainy season or in environments with high humidity. Additionally, the use of commercial shoe dryers requires a payment system that is practical and easy to operate. This literature review aims to analyze the implementation of a coin acceptor as a payment system in a microcontroller-based shoe dryer rack prototype. The method used is a narrative literature review, involving the collection and analysis of various scientific articles, journals, and conference proceedings published between 2021 and 2025 via Google Scholar. The analysis was conducted descriptively by examining the operating principles of coin acceptors, microcontroller based shoe dryer technology, and the potential for integrating these two systems. The results indicate that coin acceptors have a high level of accuracy in detecting coins and can be integrated with microcontrollers to automatically regulate service duration. Meanwhile, a microcontroller-based shoe-drying system that utilizes a heater, fan, and temperature-humidity sensors has proven capable of improving the effectiveness of the drying process. The integration of these two technologies has the potential to produce a self-service shoe drying system that is practical, efficient, and easy to use. Thus, a coin acceptor could serve as an alternative payment system that supports the development of microcontroller based shoe drying racks.

Abstract

Managing household organic waste accumulation remains an environmental challenge requiring technological solutions that are appropriate, efficient, innovative, and rapid. This study aims to design, construct, and test the performance of an automatic electric composter based on the ESP32 microcontroller, fully integrated with a 100-Watt PTC heating system, a 150-Watt AC motor for primary shredding, and an IoT-based remote monitoring system using the Blynk application. Comprehensive testing was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the initial waste shredding mechanism and the temperature rise within the composting chamber. Hardware performance results demonstrated that the mechanical shredding process operated with high precision according to the microcontroller's automatic timer settings, specifically over a 5-minute interval. Furthermore, the PTC heating system successfully raised the composting chamber's temperature gradually and consistently, starting from an initial 37.19°C and reaching a maximum setpoint of 40.00°C. Additionally, sensors recorded a peak temperature spike of 40.44°C due to residual heat accumulation after the relay cut off power to the heater. In that test confirmed that daily temperature data transmission to the Blynk dashboard and the automatic actuation of the discharge door via an servo motor operated in real-time without latency issues. In conclusion, this IoT-integrated electric composter functions optimally according to the initial design, making it suitable for immediate implementation to accelerate the processing of daily household organic waste in a smart and eco-friendly manner.
