Abstract

Background: Excessive salt consumption is a factor that can contribute to the incidence of hypertension and trigger coronary heart disease and stroke Objective: to determine the level of salt consumption, nutritional status, clinical examination, and the relationship between salt consumption and blood pressure in women in Batur Village Method: Quantitative descriptive with design cross-sectional for 106 women aged 35-55 years. The research instrument is Recall 1x24 hours, Body Mass Index (BMI), Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), waist-hip circumference ratio, blood pressure, uric acid test, Blood Sugar Level (BSL) and Fasting Glucose (FG). Results: The average salt consumption of respondents is 4.5 grams’/day shows that it does not exceed the recommended limit of Regulation of Minister of Health No. 30 of 2013 (5 grams/day). The majority of BMI is level 1 obesity (39.6%), MUAC (93%) has a normal category. BMI and Waist-Hip Circumference Ratio (WHCR) (65.1%) has a risk category. Blood pressure with the highest criteria (47% systolic; 35% diastolic) has a pre-hypertensive category. Uric acid level, BSL and FG are normal. There is no significant relationship between salt consumption and systolic blood pressure (p =0.373), and there is a significant relationship between salt consumption and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.002; r = 0.471) Conclusion: the salt consumption of respondents is normal below the recommended limit, the nutritional status of most respondents has a level 1 obesity category and there is a significant relationship between salt consumption and diastolic blood pressure in women in Batur Village

Abstract

Background:  Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that is a health problem in Indonesia and even in the world. From year to year, people with Diabetes Mellitus continue to experience a significant increase. Factors that trigger the development of diabetes mellitus are irregular eating patterns, heredity, obesity, lifestyle, lack of exercise, pancreatic infection disease and gestational pregnancy. Associated with the factors causing Diabetes Mellitus, central/abnormal obesity is the main cause of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Middle. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with data collection instruments in the form of SQ-FFQ and food recall 3x24 hours. The sample in this study amounted to 43 respondents who were all outpatients who came in February-April 2021 who met the inclusion criteria. This study uses a demographic data instrument and then processed using Microsoft Excel software and the results of the data obtained are displayed in tabular form. The results showed that 76.74% of respondents had a BMI which was in the obese category and all respondents had a RLPP above normal (100%) and a low-fiber diet that was below 400-600 grams/day and a high level of carbohydrate intake (48.83%) thus causing uncontrolled sugar levels. Most of the respondents had high blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic.

Abstract

Apnea ability is the main determining factor of freediving performance. Apnea relates to physiological factors that might be experienced by a free diver hence its ability is highly likely to correlate with various factors of human physiology. One of the suspected factors that affect apnea duration is body fat level. The fact that fat is distributed in almost all parts of the body, including respiratory organs and tracts, arises the suspicion of a possible correlation between fat accumulation and apnea ability. This research studies the correlation between body fat level and apnea duration. 30 males, aged 18-22 were the research participant. Body fat levels were measured using Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer, while apnea duration was measured by the length of which the participants hold their breath while sitting silently in the pool. The obtained data were then analyzed using a series of tests: normality, correlation, and linear regression tests. Pearson Correlation test shows negative result (p0,05) with the value of correlation coefficient -0.611 which means negative correlation with medium strength. The result of the linear regression test also shows a similar value of 0.611. Meanwhile, the value of the determinant coefficient (R square) is 0.374 (37.4%). Based on the value obtained, it can be inferred that body fat levels have 37.4% influence on the duration of apnea, while the other 62.2% are influenced by a variety of other factors

Abstract

Physical activity and diet are factors that affect nutritional status, excessive energy intake and not being balanced by physical activity will certainly increase the risk of having underweight, which is not ideal. This study aimed to determine the relationship between physical activity and diet on the BMI of SDN 2 Polobogo students. The research method is analytic observational with a cross-sectional design. The research population is students of SDN Polobogo 2 Class IV-VI. The sample in this study amounted to 40 students. The instrument in this study used the SQ-FFQ questionnaire, the PAQ-C questionnaire, and the measuring instrument for height and weight. Data analysis technique using pearson correlation test, which continued with multiple linear regression. This study's results indicate a significant effect between physical activity and diet on the BMI of grade 4-6 students at SDN Polobogo 2, Semarang Regency. It can be seen that physical activity and diet together have a positive effect on students' BMI. It can be concluded that physical activity and diet are significantly related to the BMI of students in grades 4-6 SDN Polobogo 2 Semarang Regency

Abstract

Background: Before diabetes mellitus occurs, it is preceded by the occurrence of prediabetes. Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are above normal or elevated in the blood, but has not yet entered the stage of diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus. The high increase in the number of cases of prediabetes to DM is related to changes in people's lifestyle behavior and environmental factors. The most prominent factor is an unbalanced diet that triggers risk factors for prediabetes and if not managed properly will lead to DM.Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The study was conducted in the Capkala Health Center Work Area in September-December 2020, the research respondents amounted to 62 people which were divided into 31 healthy people and 31 with prediabetes. Data collection techniques in the form of knowledge questionnaires, attitudes and behavior of eating habits and clinical examination consisting of fasting blood sugar (GDP), systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and total cholesterolResults: The results showed that 96.8% of prediabetic respondents had good knowledge of eating habits and 100% of those who were healthy. Respondents who have a positive attitude towards efforts to eat habits are 100%. Prediabetic respondents who have good behavior towards habits 90.3% and 100% healthy. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of eating habits in healthy and prediabetic people are in the good category.

Abstract

Obesity is one of the risk factors for diabetes mellitus. Obese people have a higher risk of insulin resistance. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the Indonesian government to enforce policies ranging from large-scale social restriction and transition to implementing emergency community activity restrictions at levels 1–4 that can have impacts that affect people’s lives, including affecting diets. The study aims to find out the dietary picture of adult obese individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the work area of Puskesmas Sidorejo Lor, Salatiga City, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study respondents were individuals aged 25–59 years of age, with a total of 22 people identified with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. The research uses quantitative descriptive methods with instruments such as Semi-quantitative Food Frequency questionnaires and Food recalls. Data is analyzed using the Food Ingredient Composition List, Nutrisurvey, and Microsoft Excel. The results of the study showed that the respondents’ energy, protein, and fat consumption was excessive, while the average respondent’s carbohydrate intake had a severe deficit. The study concluded that there was an imbalance in respondent intake because respondents reduced their consumption of carbohydrates, especially white rice, but their protein and fat intake was not in line with their needs.
