Abstract

[English]: Mathematics anxiety often interferes with students’ engagement and achievement, leading to reduced self-confidence and the potential withdrawal from the learning process. Project-Based Learning (PjBL), which emphasizes hands-on, collaborative experiences, is a promising approach for addressing this issue. Meanwhile, problem-solving skills are essential for future learning and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) offers an effective approach to fostering these higher-order thinking skills. This study investigates the effectiveness of PjBL and PBL in enhancing the cognitive performance of students suffering from mathematics anxiety. The study employs quantitative approach with cluster random sampling by targeting 9th-grade students in Banyuasin, East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through documentation, questionnaires, and achievement tests on spatial geometry, alongside measures of mathematics anxiety. The data was analysed using a one-way covariance (ANCOVA) analysis, treating anxiety as a covariate variable. The findings indicate that both PjBL and PBL significantly enhance students’ learning outcomes despite of their mathematics anxiety (p-value < 0.050). Both approaches promote collaborative learning, peer tutoring, and active student interaction, which foster improved communication skills, reduce anxiety, and deepen mastery of the subject. [Bahasa]: Kecemasan terhadap matematika sering kali mengganggu keterlibatan dan pencapaian siswa, yang menyebabkan penurunan kepercayaan diri dan kemungkinan menarik diri dari proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL), yang menekankan pada pengalaman aktif serta kolaboratif, merupakan solusi yang menjanjikan untuk masalah tersebut.  Sementara itu, kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi krusial pada pembelajaran di masa mendatang dan pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) dapat menjadi pendekatan yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi tersebut. Penelitian ini menguji keefektifan PjBL dan PBL dalam meningkatkan domain kognitif siswa yang mengalami kecemasan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengambilan sampel secara acak kluster yang menargetkan siswa kelas 9 di Banyuasin, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, angket, dan tes hasil belajar pada materi geometri spasial, bersama dengan pengukuran terhadap kecemasan matematika. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kovariat satu arah, dengan kecemasan sebagai variabel kovariat. Hasil temuan mengindikasikan bahwa PjBL dan PBL meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan kecemasan matematika secara signifikan (p-value < 0.050). Kedua pendekatan tersebut mempromosikan pembelajaran kolaboratif, tutor sebaya, dan interaksi aktif siswa, yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi, mengurangi kecemasan, serta memperdalam penguasaan materi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Literasi digital merupakan kompetensi dasar untuk memahami dan mengembangkan AI, sekaligus bekal penting keterampilan abad 21. Penguatan literasi ini mendukung SDG 4 yang menargetkan pendidikan berkualitas, inklusif, dan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Pentingnya literasi digital ini juga dirasakan oleh guru-guru di SMA Negeri 1. Meskipun sebagian guru sudah mulai menggunakan AI dalam pembelajaran, namun secara umum guru-guru belum mempunyai pengetahuan yang cukup tentang teknologi digital dan AI. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menguatkan literasi digital pada guru. Pengabdian ini diwujudkan dalam bentuk pelatihan. Kompetensi literasi digital diukur menggunakan lima aspek, yaitu: (a) pengetahuan dasar literasi digital dan AI, (b) keamanan data dan privasi, (c) deteksi hoax dan disinformasi, (d) UU ITE dan etika digital, dan (e) sikap proaktif. Pengukuran dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan untuk mengetahui efektifitas pelatihan. Hasil uji sampel berpasangan menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada setiap aspek. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan yang diberikan bisa diterima dan dipahami dengan baik. Aspek proaktif yang meningkat menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru menjadi lebih siap untuk membawakan literasi digital dan AI dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Mental health is a condition in which individuals can realize their potential, cope with life's pressures, work productively, and make contributions. Therefore, mental health is very important for humans, especially for students. A mental health profile is one of the efforts in identifying factors that affect students' mental health. This study is a quantitative descriptive, inferential study. In the inferential, 3-way MANOVA analysis is used, and the description is equipped with correspondence visualization. The population in this study was high school students in urban and rural areas in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, totalling 1240 students. The sampling used was cluster random, totaling 134 students. 2 suburban and 2 sub-rural areas were taken to compare their mental health. In addition to demographics, other research variables were also selected in the form of gender, student guardians, number of social media applications, age, distance, and student weight. From the discussion, the results indicate that there is a joint influence between gender, number of social media applications, and demographics on students' mental health. The existence of interaction of influence indicates that synergy between schools and related governments is needed to make the best policies to anticipate the high level of mental health problems of students in urban and rural areas. In contrast, students with low health problems were identified as students whose homes were close to school, users of 1 social media application, and students with ideal body weight.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the STATPRO game-based learning on mathematics achievement and investigates the factors that influence the formation of self-regulated learning (SRL) among senior high school students in rural areas. Recognizing SRL as a critical factor influencing academic success, creativity, and lifelong learning, this research examines the roles of gender, class, and parental education level in shaping SRL. Employing a quantitative pre-post design using the Wilcoxon-Signed and Friedman test for mathematics achievement and three-way multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) for SRL evaluation. Data were collected from cluster-randomized samples across classes 8A to 8C using standardized mathematics tests and the Academic Self-Regulated Learning Questionnaire (ASLQ). Results indicate that class (p = 0.016) and gender (p = 0.001) significantly affect mathematics achievement, while parental education level has no direct impact (p = 0.623). However, SRL development is significantly influenced by the interaction of class, gender, and parental education (p=0.004). These findings highlight the necessity of integrated support from both schools and families to cultivate the students’ self-regulated learning, thereby enhancing students’ cognitive and academic outcomes, especially within resource-limited rural contexts.
