Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the development of electronic student worksheet using LiveWorksheets interactive website that is reliable, useful, and efficient on the material produced. This kind of research and development (RD) tries to create an e-student worksheet product. Liveworksheet task-based learning development is accomplished using the ADDIE design development, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Students in Class 11-TKJ at SMK Perbankan Riau in 2023 served as the study's test subjects. A validation sheet was used to assess the reliability of the e-student worksheet, a response questionnaire was used to determine how useful the e-student worksheet was, and learning outcomes tests were used to determine the efficiency of the e-student worksheet. The results of material expert validation and learning expert validation amounted to 91.8% with very good criteria and 82.6% with very good criteria. Comparison of results before and after using e-student worksheet is pre-test 76.8 and post-test 85.88. Therefore, it is known that there is an increase in student understanding by using e-student worksheet through LiveWoksheets. The questionnaire response of students received an average rating of 78.2% with good criteria. While the teacher's questionnaire response obtained a score of 80% with good criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that interactive e-student worksheet through LiveWorksheets is reliable, usable, and efficient also can increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

Kehadiran media sosial era digital ini telah membawa dampak terhadap kemudahan pencarian berbagai informasi, termasuk informasi pendidikan yang diakses oleh ramai siswa-siswi untuk menunjang kebutuhan akademik. Bagaimanapun juga, antara isu masalah yang timbul adalah bahwa media sosial juga membawa dampak negatif melalui konten-konten yang tidak layak dikonsumsi oles siswa sekolah. Sebagai upaya solusi dari isu masalah tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat membawa tema pemberdayaan nilai kearifan lokal dalam memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai sumber informasi pendidikan bagi siswa SMAN 1 Siak Kecil Kabupaten Bengkalis. Tujuan pengabdian adalah untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang nilai-nilai kearifan lokal budaya melayu terhadap siswa SMAN 1 Siak Kecil dalam penerapan pencarian informasi pendidikan melalui media sosial. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan yang terdiri dari kegiatan penyampaian materi oleh narasumber, diskusi dan tanya jawab. Kandungan materi yang disampaikan yaitu pengenalan dan penerapan nilai-nilai asas budaya Melayu dalam penggunaan media sosial sebagai sumber informasi pendidikan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian yaitu secara kualitatif,  para siswa peseta pengabadian dapat mengetahui dan memahami yaitu 1) dampak positif dan negatif media sosial, 2) falsafah dan prinsip nilai-nilai pendidikan kearifan lokal adat resam Melayu, 3) kebijaksanaan dan adab menuntut ilmu dalam budaya Melayu.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mendampingi guru dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis serta membantu menerbitkan buku bagi guru SMP di Pekanbaru dengan memperkenalkan  aplikasi Grammarly, Quillbolt, OpenAI, Mendeley, dan Turnitin sebagai alat bantu yang inovatif dan efektif sesuai materi ajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyampian materi pengabdian masyarakat adalah workshop secara luring dan daring. Tahapan pelaksanaan pengabdian meliputi penyampaian tujuan, memberikan motivasi menulis, penyajian materi, praktek dalam penggunaan aplikasi, praktek menulis, pengecekan similarity hasil tulisan, editing dan publish. Peserta pengabdian berjumlah 20 orang guru SMP di Pekanbaru. Kegiatan ini dilakukan survey dalam pengenalan dan pemanfaatan tools AI. Hasil survey terlihat bahwa banyak guru yang belum mengenal aplikasi tersebut. Sehingga pendampingan ini dapat mengasah ketrampilan guru dalam menulis dan menerbitkan buku. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini dikhususkan untuk 20 guru SMP di Pekanbaru dan umumnya pada guru-guru seluruh nusantara. Kegitan pengabdian ini dapat menjadi reverensi kegiatan pengabdian selanjutnya dengan cakupan subjek yang lebih luas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berkontribusi (1) membuat karya sebuah buku sesuai dengan kurikulum dengan menggunakan tools AI; (2) memudahkan guru mendesign pembelajaran sesuai dengan materinya.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a picture storybook learning media to increase interest in reading English for elementary school students in grade 5 SDN Pekanbaru Riau. This study uses research and development methods (Research and Development). This research will produce learning tools in the form of learning media, which will be tested for validity and practicality. The steps in developing picture storybooks for learning to read follow the 4-D model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The test subjects in this research and development were class V students at SDN Pekanbaru Riau. This research and development trial was conducted on a small group of 5 students. The type of data taken in this research is qualitative and quantitative data. At the product validation stage, the data obtained is qualitative in the form of responses and comments from student interviews after using the media, as well as input, criticism, and suggestions from validators and teachers in improving picture storybooks. Furthermore, quantitative data is obtained from statements in providing assessments of media products during validation by media, material, and language validators, and teacher response questionnaire assessments. After the data is obtained, the next step is to analyze the data. The data that will be obtained in this research is quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data was obtained from media, material and language validation sheets, and teacher response questionnaires. Furthermore, qualitative data was obtained from student interviews and input from validators and teachers. Responses, suggestions, and validator input are considered and analyzed to improve the product. The results of this research are the result of expert validation of picture storybook learning media material of 81%. They are included in the 80-100% interval so that they are included in the high category and are very suitable for use. The results of this study are the results of expert validation of picture storybook learning media material as much as 81 % and belonging to the 80-100% interval so that it is included in the high category and is very feasible to use. The results of the validation from media experts on the development of picture storybook learning media to increase interest in reading for grade 5 SDN students are in the high category with the eligibility of 78% from 3 aspects. The validated aspects included the suitability of the presentation with the demands of student-centered learning, the way of presentation, readability, and communicativeness. The suitability of the presentation with the demands of student-centered learning has a feasibility of 68%, which is in the high category.

Abstract

The pandemic that has hit all over the world is very disturbing, especially in the field of education which requires learning in schools to be sent home. the current pandemic has led schools to conduct learning through technology media. which requires teachers and students to use the best applications during online learning, due to the very concerning impact of the Covid-19 outbreak which requires students to learn from home. Online learning currently uses supportive applications so that it can be carried out well. Supporting applications in learning virtually include several application media such as: Whastapp Group features which can display videos, images and others, Google Classroom features can display a time set by the teacher to students or have a time limit so that students are more punctual, Google features Meet can show face to face without any time limit. The zoom feature can also be face-to-face online but has time and other application media limitations. therefore teachers must be careful in choosing the applications used during online learning at this time. however, there are several obstacles in conducting online learning at this time, namely the network in remote schools which results in student delays in collecting assignments online

Abstract

Media sosial cenderung digunakan secara tidak terkendali di kalangan pelajar, sehingga mengakibatkan menurunnya prestasi akademik, gangguan psikologis, perubahan perilaku, dan sebagainya. Oleh karena itu, salah satu cara untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah melalui program pengabdian kepada masyarakat UIR yang lahir dari MIN 1 INHU dengan tema “Penguatan Literasi Dampak Negatif Media Sosial terhadap Perkembangan Siswa”. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah memberikan penyuluhan tentang dampak negatif media sosial bagi siswa dan strategi penanganannya yang berbasis pada nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Kegiatan PKM ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan dengan rangkaian acara yaitu penyampaian materi oleh narasumber, diskusi, dialog dan tanya jawab. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM ini menunjukkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang keterlibatan semua pihak seperti orang tua, guru dan komite sekolah dalam mengawasi perkembangan siswa dari dampak negatif penggunaan media sosial, dan memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai sarana dalam proses pembelajaran dengan benar yang berpedoman pada pendekatan nilai luhur warisan budaya Melayu seperti kesantunan, kearifan dan kecerdasan, serta sikap tabayun sebelum menerima isi pesan media sosial.

Abstract

Learning media plays a crucial role in the learning process. One of the popular learning media, which played a crucial role among elementary school students during the COVID-19 pandemic, is audio-visual media. This type of media engages both auditory and visual senses through the utilization of the CANVA application. Therefore, this research aims to develop an English language learning media through the CANVA application in Pekanbaru Elementary School, Indonesia. This research was conducted using the 4D development model, consisting of define, design, develop and disseminate stages. In the define stage, it was found that students still had relatively low learning outcomes, and teachers could not develop creative learning media. Meanwhile, in the design stage, the learning media based on the findings in the definition stage was designed. The learning media was assembled using the CANVA application in the development stage. The product test results in this development stage showed very good results. The media was packaged in CD form and distributed to several elementary school teachers in Pekanbaru to help them teach English.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the first-year English language education students at FKIP-UIR Pekanbaru's academic vocabulary proficiency. Data interpretation is part of the descriptive research methodology. Three levels of vocabulary knowledge are tested in this study using several measures: meaning identification, written form recall assisted by initial letter, and matching exercise. The analysis of the data revealed that the average score on the meaning recognition test is 54,16, which is categorized as a poor to the ordinary degree of mastery. The written form recall test with initial letter assistance yields an average score of 57,5 and is categorized as having a poor to an average degree of competence.
