Abstract

AbstractSardi DuryatmoThe mass media in developing countries has a large role to support development. Development will work faster if supported by   mass media. The mass media creates awareness, provides informations, and direct informations for the purposes of educations and extensions. According to the diffusion of innovations theory, communicator who obtains meassage to the mass media, likely to have stronger influence towards others. The purpose of this study  is to determine to level s  of adoption of articles Topic among Trubus Magazine readers in South Jakarta, in order to know the effect the levels of adoption of innovation toward Trubus Magazine readers. Based on the data of Distribution Department Trubus Magazine, there are 308 readers in South Jakarta until Februarry2011. The samples of this study are 76 readers. The data was collected by quetionnaires  and interviews: (1) an overwiew the characteristic of respondents, (2) the exposurse of Topic of Trubus Magazine, (3) communication effect associated of cognitive, affective affect, and behavioral effect, (4) adoption of innovation levels. Data analysis and processing characteristic of the relationshif using Spearman correlation formula. The results showed that (1) the distribution of respondents according to observable characteristics seems to vary, (2) top the three commodities on seven other which are prefered by respondents as a topic are fruit (18%),  traditional medicines (15,7%), and plantation (14,7%), (3) in relation to cognitive effecets, the knowledge respsondents are increased. Likewise the affective affect, respondents are better, (4) the most widely adopted innovation by respondents is the biopori technology one of the methodes applied in rain water harvesting, (5) There is relation between exposure and knowledge and attitude. Key words: adoptions innovation, mass media

Abstract

The background of this research is the growth of mass media in Indonesia. Meanwhile, one of the public relations activities is responding to the interests of the media to provide information to the public. This study was conducted to analyze the media relations strategy run by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Jakarta, in the context of Eid Mubarak Holiday 2018. The research used a qualitative method, with data sources derived from primary data and secondary data. The author uses expert triangulation to test the validity of the data obtained. This study indicated that establishing a relationship with the media is very important. Public relations and the media are two parties who need each other. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of the marketing public relations department of tourism and culture of the city of Bogor in introducing Batik Bogor. This research has a problem formulation that is not well known Bogor batik by the public, especially the Bogor community itself. In that addition to knowing the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in introducing Batik Bogor. in this study the research method used was descriptive qualitative form of written or oral words from people and the observed behavior in obtaining data used interviews, observation, and documentation. The theory used in this study is the marketing public relations and the key informant is Undang Sulaeman as the partnership and creative economy developmeint section and Sri Hartati as Bogor batik craftsman.

Abstract

People of Minangkabau descent in Indonesia have several negative stereotypes that have long developed in society. Not only can it disturb the psychological condition of these ethnic group members, but it can also trigger intercultural conflict. This condition does not help the local government promote West Sumatra as a cultural tourism destination. This study deconstructs the negative stereotypes in order to correct misperceptions that have occurred so far. The study tests Hofstede’s cultural dimensions in two ways; first is towards the deconstruction process of Minangkabau’s original traditional teachings. The second is towards the nuclear family configuration using ANOVA test to find the shifting cultural values. This study attempts to find the origin of the negative stereotypes and confirm it with the original traditional teachings. This study can ward off bad cultural stereotypes as it corrects misconceptions about the nature of the matrilineal Minangkabau culture. Besides elaborating on the cause of negative stereotypes, this study also finds out the origin of positive ones. They are known to have high social awareness, strong entrepreneurial abilities, and excellent leadership skills. Thanks to these three good stereotypes, the Minangkabau people can then produce crafts that are intelligent and timeless, such as the production of engravings on songket cloth that are full of philosophy, the architectural feature of the Bagonjong house roof, the traditional dress, culinary menus, music, and art. This research produces data artifacts about contemporary Minangkabau culture to benefit the cultural tourism industry. This deconstruction approach has never been tested on the Minangkabau tribe.

Abstract

The people of Waesano Village, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, practice a tradition known as taing hang empo, meaning 'to give, eat, and grandmother' in Manggarai. This ritual involves feeding the spirits of deceased ancestors, rooted in their belief in ancestral spirits, ata pali sina. This qualitative study utilizes ethnographic communication methods to explore the taing hang empo ritual and its significance in the village, drawing on Creswell's perspective of qualitative research as a practice to interpret the world. Employing Carey's concept of ritual communication, this research delves into the communication patterns during taing hang empo, highlighting shared cultural participation, the sacredness of activities, symbolic language use, and the conveyance of messages through unique communication symbols. Data collection involved in-depth interviews and observations, particularly during nemba bongot, an epidemic affecting villagers and livestock. During such crises, the community seeks assistance from ancestral spirits, triggering ritual communication resembling a sacred ceremony. This study illuminates non-professional, belief-based rituals, depicting micro-scale practices related to specific beliefs or religions. Post-ritual, ancestral spirits reportedly communicate medicinal plant remedies for the sick through dreams. This research offers insight into the role of ritual communication and its impact on addressing communal challenges in the village.

Abstract

Kemajuan penggunan internet saat ini semakin pesat dan Google menjadi wadah mesinpencari terbanyak yang dikunjungi, perusahaan media mulai berbondong-bondongmeningkatkan kinerja publikasi mereka dengan menerapkan optimasi Search EngineOptimization (SEO) agar mampu berada di halaman teratas pada mesin pencariGoogle. Media daring Pikiran-rakyat.com menggunakan optimasi Search EngineOptimization (SEO) agar mampu berada di halaman utama Google dan mendapatkanpembaca lebih banyak. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui teknik penerapan SearchEngine Optimization (SEO) pada media daring Pikiran-rakyat.com dalam meningkatkanjumlah pembaca. Sebagai perusahaan, Pikiran-rakyat.com menggunakan teoriGeomelakis amp; Veglis (2015) mengenai metode penerapan Search Engine Optimization(SEO). Search Engine Optimization (SEO) merupakan proses editor website untukmenyesuaikan judul, lead, atau isi teks artikel guna meningkatkan penempatan situstersebut di mesin pencari dan memilki peluang untuk mudah ditemukan dan dibaca olehaudiens. Teori Geomelakis amp; Veglis (2015) menjelaskan Search Engine Optimization(SEO) memiliki dua metode, yaitu metode optimasi On-page yang berkaitan denganpengoptimalan pada konten yang disesuaikan dengan aturan dari optimasi SearchEngine Optimization (SEO) dan Off-page berkaitan dengan faktor luar yang terhubungdengan Search Engine Optimization (SEO) seperti media sosial. Penelitian inimenggunakan metode desktiptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melakukan pengumpulandata melalui wawancara, obeservasi, dan dokumentasi. hasil penelitian ini,menunjukkan bahwa Pikiran-rakyat.com melakukan teknik penerapan Search EngineOptimization (SEO) selaras dengan yang dikemukakan oleh teori Geomelakis amp; Veglis(2015) terutama pada kedua metode On-page dan Off-page yang menjadi pilarpemanfaatan Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Meskipun begitu, Pikiran-rakyat.comtentunya perlu berusaha mengembangkan dengan baik lagi terhadap penerapanSearch Engine Optimization (SEO) dalam meningkatkan jumlah pembaca ini.

Abstract

As one of the developing countries, the development of the information society is marked by the emergence of media industries such as print media (newspapers, magazines, tabloids, etc.) and electronic media (radio, television). The ease of use of new technologies most influences the decisions of users of different ages. The influence of age has a direct impact on a person's perception of the usefulness of information technology in short-term and long-term use. A generation is defined as a group of individuals identified based on the year of birth, age, characteristics, and life events that occur at their developmental stage. The emergence of new media technologies creates new habits and new cultures in media consumption, which has an impact on social, cultural, economic, and political aspects. This research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative method to understand what factors affect the attitude of using social media and television media in generation X in Tapos Village. The population in this study is generation X of Tapos Village. The research sample was 100 people. Sampling was done using purposive sampling and data analysis using SEM-PLS with Smart PLS. The results of this study show that there is no digital divide seen from several aspects, namely, monthly income, interest in media use and strong network ownership, they can still keep up with technological developments even though they have limited access.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh data Feed @indozone.id Dengan Tagline #kamuharustahu terhadap Minat Baca Generasi Z di Kota Bogor. Penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif ini dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi yang bertujuan mencari pengaruh dari variabel feed indozone.id (X) terhadap variabel minat baca (Y). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kota Bogor salah satu kota yang minat bacanya masih rendah menurut survei dari Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan kuisioner dengan skala likert serta nonprobability sampling, yang bertujuan untuk mengkategorisasi responden agar yang mengisi kuisioner adalah orang yang membaca indozone.id, dengan metode snowball sampling yang bertujuan untuk menjangkau populasi (N). Hasil penelitian ini mempunyai nilai signifikansi (sig) sebesar 0,001 yang artinya mempunyai nilai lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara Feed Indozone (X) dengan minat baca (Y) dengan besaran pengaruh sebesar 81,3%. Feed Indozone.id mempunyai pengaruh positive terhadap minat baca generasi Z. Feed indozone.id yang mengalami kenaikan sebesar 1% akan di ikuti oleh kenaikan minat baca sebesar 52%, dikarenakan desain post Instagram di indozone.id dibuat sepraktis mungkin agar pembaca lebih mudah memahami isi pemberitaan. Serta sesuai dengan teori uses and effect saat Feed dapat menghasilkan suatu efek yang disebut minat baca. Jika diperoleh dari data yang diperoleh peneliti, coseefect dapat diperoleh dari Feed Indozone.id dan penggunaan media yang berarti menggunakan Instagram dengan feed tertentu dapat memberikan efek minat baca. Abstract

The tradition of using medicinal plants in Waesano Village, Sanonggoang District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, is still maintained to this day. They use various plants that grow wild in the 4,000-hectare Sesok forest to maintain their health. The nature of their treatment is preventive and curative. This research uses a qualitative method. Data analysis was carried out by applying the individual health belief model or healtf belief model in determining attitudes to do or not to perform health behaviors (Conner 2005). The model was developed by Rosenstock in 1950 to study and promote improved health care. The model consists of six constructs, namely perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, cues to action, and motivation related to individual motivation to always live a healthy life. The results of the study produced findings that a person's susceptibility to certain diseases encourages them to consume certain medicinal plants. Perceived susceptibility or vulnerability is defined as whether a person has a high risk of a disease. Perceived severity talks about an individual's beliefs about the seriousness or severity of a disease. Information regarding the severity of a disease comes from medical or physician and knowledge. Perceived benefits are related to a person's view of the value or usefulness of the new healthy behavior that they will do. People tend to adopt healthier behaviors when they believe that new behaviors can inhibit the progression of the disease. Regarding perceived benefits, the residents of Waesano Village until now continue to use a variety of medicinal plants to maintain their health because they have obtained many benefits or uses. This behavior is partly because the consumption of medicinal plants has been proven to be efficacious in overcoming many health problems that they experience. Many residents have proven the efficacy of medicinal plants based on empirical experience to overcome various diseases.Keywords: health belief model, local wisdom, health behavior
