Abstract

This paper presents for the first time the results of research related to the professional training of judges. The research method presented in this paper is a case study. Thirty-one judges, in the City and District Courts, were included to obtain various perspectives through interviews. The results of the study show that the influence of training can shape judicial interpretations of justice. We found that trainee judges studied the three most important forms of justice: legal justice, moral justice, and social justice. Judges will also learn from the training that judges will be asked to harmonize various dimensions of justice in the context of public service.

Abstract

Lebih dari dua ratus jenis penyakit ditularkan melalui makanan baik penyakit yang sifatnya jangka panjang atau jangka pendek, hal ini terutama karena adanya kontaminasi makanan oleh bahan kimia atau mikroorganisme. Sebagian besar penyakit keracunan pada makanan sebenarnya bisa dicegah dengan menjalankan prinsip keamanan pangan. Sementara itu baik di negara maju dan negara berkembang, keracunan makanan adalah masalah yang serius dan banyak dari kasus keracunan makanan tidak diketahui sumbernya ataupun datanya. Sebagian besar kasus terjadinya keracunan makanan adalah karena kesalahan dalam menangani makanan, dan tercatat sebanyak sekitar 97% dari penyakit akibat keracunan makanan adalah berasal dari penanganan makanan yang salah (Howes et al, 1996). Study tentang kasus keracunan makanan juga melaporkan bahwa penyebab lain keracunan makanan adalah bersumber dari penjamah makanan dan jumlah kasus keracunan, menunjukkan tidak ada indikasi penurunan sampai beberapa tahun terakhir (Greig et al., 2007).

Abstract

Artikel ini menyajikan persepsi para Hakim Indonesia dalam menjatuhkan hukuman terhadap pengguna narkotika. Hakim memegang peran sentral dalam proses hukuman, dan karena kebijaksanaan yudisial mereka dapat menggunakannya adalah penting untuk memahami bagaimana hakim sampai pada keputusan hukuman mereka. Untuk mengembangkan pemahaman tentang bagaimana hakim, memahami tindakan mereka dalam pengambilan keputusan kepada pengguna narkotika, sejumlah 31 peserta hakim diwawancarai. Data menunjukkan bahwa keadilan disajikan sebagai kondisional, tergantung pada berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi yang terutama, meskipun tidak sepenuhnya, sebagai salah satu ketegangan dan kontradiksi. Faktor yang mempengaruhi putusan hakim salah satunya adalah politik dan aparat hukumnya.  Artikel ini berkontribusi pada persepsi para hakim yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor yuridis dan faktor sosiologis.

Abstract

This paper for the first time presents the results of research related to the aspects of empowerment of women involved in narcotic cases. The research methods presented in this paper are in the form of literature research and field research. Two countries, Scotland and Indonesia, were included to gain various perspectives through a literature review. The results of the field research show that the empowerment of women with narcotic cases is still based on a sense of social justice. This paper contributes to ensuring equality in empowerment for women.

Abstract

Purchasing raw foods materials that are used to make our product must be carefully controlled. Selecting and evaluating the right food supplier today has become much more critical and complex. Involving process of selecting the right supplier can help many food industries and restaurants meet or exceed regulatory standards, drive customer demand, and build a strong brand reputation of quality products. Quality and safety for ingredients, products, and packaging are mandatory requirements for every food business, so choosing a good supplier is a critical business decision. Consequently, the supply chain team has needed to identify choosing the right supplier, as well as several best practices in the food industry or restaurant. This paper’s objective is to frame working best practices on food supplier selection and, assessment as part of supply chain sustainability and food safety implementation. Establishing close working relationships with foods supplier and providing them with high standards also providing feedback on their performance would be part of effective supplier programs in food safety assessment. Some criteria that should be provided by our food supplier were considered as approved suppliers such as purchasing specification, quality system compliance, Regulatory compliance, and certificate of analysis. The study found that trust and communication are key elements in establishing strong working relationships with foods supplier. Working relationships with food suppliers have become a competitive advantage for Food Industries and Restaurants looking for long-term economic success. Trusted food suppliers were described as communicating effectively and demonstrating a willingness to work collaboratively. Foods suppliers who communicate directly and clearly are more effective in implementing Food Safety assessments.

Abstract

For the first time, this paper provides an insight into HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in prisons. In doing so, this paper explores the manifestations and sociological explanations of HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination against inmates at the community level and staff members at the institutional level. This paper contributes to the strengthening of HIV prevention and treatment policy. Thus, this paper would beneficial particularly in response to HIV/AIDS in Prison to the Ministry and Prison authorities.

Abstract

This study examines the significant impact of Indonesian government policies on the economic development of the country, particularly in relation to the food industry. The study utilizes Comparative Analysis to investigate the historical development of policy measures, specifically the shift from import substitution to export-led growth. It evaluates the effects of these measures on the productivity, sustainability, and global competitiveness of the food industry. This analysis carefully examines a large amount of data from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, BPS Indonesia, and other reliable sources to reveal the complex connection between policy interventions and economic performance measures such as GDP growth, employment, and investment in the food sector. The findings highlight the crucial impact of deliberate government investments in stimulating the food industry's involvement in Indonesia's economic stability and sustained progress. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the significance of taking into account contextual elements when evaluating policies and recognizing the external influences that impact economic results. This research provides valuable recommendations for refining policies and guiding future research to improve the effectiveness of government initiatives in promoting economic growth and innovation in Indonesia's food industry. Abstract

This study examines inventory management and production capacity in warung tegal (warteg) businesses in Tangerang and surrounding areas, with a focus on the mismatch between production capacity and customer demand during peak hours. Warteg businesses typically prepare food in advance based on daily demand estimates, which often leads to operational risks such as food shortages or overproduction due to fluctuating demand, especially during lunchtime. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations of 30 warteg businesses selected through convenience sampling. The analysis focuses on inventory-related indicators, including stock availability, frequency of stockouts, and replenishment practices during peak periods. The findings show that shortages frequently occur when popular menu items such as chicken and eggs run out before peak hours end. This is mainly caused by production decisions that rely on experience rather than structured inventory planning. This condition reduces service levels, resulting in longer waiting times and increased queues. The study suggests that implementing simple inventory management practices, such as recording daily sales patterns and determining buffer stock for high-demand menu items, can help optimize production planning, improve service efficiency, and reduce the risk of both shortages and food waste in small-scale food businesses.

Abstract

Pengambilan keputusan operasional yang efektif merupakan faktor kunci keberhasilan perusahaan distribusi, namun penerapannya di wilayah terpencil dengan infrastruktur terbatas masih kurang dieksplorasi dalam literatur manajemen operasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan membandingkan pengambilan keputusan operasional berbasis manajemen operasi pada perusahaan distribusi bahan bangunan antara Pulau Papua (Wamena) dan Pulau Jawa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain comparative case study. Informan dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan total 13 informan dari dua perusahaan, terdiri atas pimpinan operasional, kepala gudang, staf administrasi, dan koordinator logistik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur, observasi lapangan, dokumentasi, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD), kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan di Papua menghadapi inefisiensi sistemik pada lima dimensi operasional yang dikaji, yaitu manajemen stok, pengelolaan gudang, implementasi SOP, kesiapan SDM, dan koordinasi logistik, akibat ketidakpastian lead time transportasi udara dan absennya formalisasi prosedur; sementara perusahaan di Jawa menunjukkan kapabilitas operasional yang lebih matang karena ditopang infrastruktur logistik darat yang lebih stabil. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa konteks geografis berfungsi sebagai determinan struktural yang memoderasi efektivitas penerapan prinsip manajemen operasi, dan berkontribusi pada pengembangan kerangka manajemen operasi adaptif berbasis konteks untuk wilayah terpencil di Indonesia

Abstract

Peningkatan produksi beras menyebabkan meningkatnya jumlah limbah sekam padi dalam rantai pasok, terutama pada tahap penggilingan, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan apabila tidak dikelola secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai strategi pengelolaan limbah sekam padi berbasis keberlanjutan dalam rantai pasok beras serta menganalisis potensinya dalam mendukung konsep ekonomi sirkular. Metode yang digunakan adalah narrative literature review dengan menganalisis berbagai artikel ilmiah terindeks yang dipublikasikan pada periode 2016–2026. Kajian dilakukan terhadap pemanfaatan sekam padi pada sektor energi, pangan, pertanian, dan material fungsional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekam padi memiliki potensi besar untuk dikonversi menjadi biogas, biofuel, karbon aktif, silika, pupuk organik, senyawa fenolik bioaktif, serta serat pangan yang bernilai tambah. Pemanfaatan tersebut mampu mendukung pengurangan limbah, efisiensi sumber daya, penyediaan energi terbarukan, dan pengurangan emisi akibat pembakaran terbuka. Selain itu, pengolahan sekam padi juga berpotensi meningkatkan nilai ekonomi residu agroindustri dan memperkuat keberlanjutan rantai pasok beras. Namun, sebagian besar penelitian masih dilakukan pada skala laboratorium sehingga implementasi pada skala industri masih memerlukan pengujian lebih lanjut terkait aspek teknis, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Kesimpulannya, pengelolaan sekam padi berbasis keberlanjutan dapat menjadi strategi penting dalam mendukung penerapan ekonomi sirkular dan pengembangan agroindustri ramah lingkungan, khususnya di negara agraris seperti Indonesia.
