Abstract

The Purpose of this study was to investigate the goodness fit model of Eco Critical Thinking Skills (ECTS) and effectiveness Science Technology Ecocultural Society (STEcS) model in elementary school teacher education programs. Participants in this study were 229 students, taken from 3 universities. The data collection method was an open ended essay test and questioner. The research analysis the goodness fit model used was Lisrel 8 and effect size analysis. The results of the investigation indicated that the construct analysis on the instrument model was categorized as a good fit model category with P-value 0.28 ( 0.05), RMSEA 0.02 (0.08) and other indicators of fit model were above 0.90. Analysis of the effect size based on Cohen's d criteria of 1.391 ( 0.08) is classified as very high criteria. This research concluded that instrument is good fit, Interpretation dimension is highest support. STEcS model is effective to enhance Eco Critical Thinking Skills at elementary school teacher education program. The research implication is Eco Critical Thinking Skills of students can be improved through the application of the STEcS model. The STEcS model is an alternative model for preparing 21st century learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perubahan iklim telah menyebabkan menurunnya produktivitas pertanian masyarakat perdesaan. Hal ini perlu disikapi dengan menentukan alternatif pendapatan bagi masyarakat. Salah satunya adalah melalui pengembangan desa wisata berbasis budaya. Inovasi tersebut perlu dilakukan dengan menyiapkan generasi muda dalam mempertahankan nilai-nilai budaya. Kegiatan pelatihan torok pada kelompok anak di Desa Golo Wua bertujuan meningkatkan keterambilan keterampilan torok pada anak-anak untuk menunjang proses internalisasi dan pelestarian nilai-nilai budaya. Selain itu, pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membentuk kelompok minat budaya anak di Desa Golo Wua yang dapat menunjang terbentuknya desa wisata budaya di kemudian hari. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan kepada 20 orang anak di Desa Golo Wua. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini diamati melalui kemampuan yang dialami peserta pelatihan dampingan serta bentuk-bentuk komitmen yang muncul pada komunitas masyarakat di lokasi kegiatan. Hasil Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan 100% peserta kegiatan memiliki keterampilan adanya kemampuan dan keterampilan peserta kegiatan dalam melakukan torok. Selain itu, terbentuk pula kelompok minat budaya anak di Desa Golo Wua atas inisiatif tokoh masyarakat sebagai bentuk komitmen komunitas masyarakat untuk keberlanjutan program..Abstract: Climate change has led to a decline in agricultural productivity in rural communities. This needs to be addressed by identifying alternative sources of income for the community. One of them is the development of culture-based tourism villages. The innovation needs to be done by preparing the younger generation in preserving cultural values. Torok training activities for children's groups in Golo Wua village aim to improve children's torok skills to support the process of internalizing and preserving cultural values. In addition, this service aims to form a children's cultural interest group in Golo Wua Village that can support the formation of a cultural tourism village in the future. This activity was carried out in the form of training for 20 children in Golo Wua Village. The success of this activity is observed through the skills of the trained participants and the forms of commitment that emerge in the community at the site of the activity. The results of the activity showed that 100% of the participants had the skills to perform Torok. In addition, a children's cultural interest group was formed in Golo Wua village at the initiative of community leaders as a form of community engagement for program sustainability.

(pp. 817–822).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The chayote plant (Sechium edule (Jacq.) Sw.) is a plant that is very easy to find in everyday life. Utilizing chayote essence as an alternative to tapioca flour can increase its useful value. The aimed of this research is to determine the nutritional content of chayote starch and to determine the organoleptic test for making snacks from chayote starch as an alternative to tapioca flour. This research was carried out in 2 stages, namely: 1) carrying out laboratory tests to analyze the nutritional content (carbohydrate, calorie, protein, fat and fiber content) of chayote starch flour, and 2) carrying out organoleptic tests of snacks made from chayote starch as raw material in an effort to looking for alternatives to tapioca flour. Organoleptic tests were given to 10 randomly selected panelists. The results of this research are: 1) the carbohydrate content of chayote starch is 6%, calories are 26 calories, protein is 0.6 grams, fat is 0.1%, and fiber is 2.2 grams. 2) organoleptic tests stated that on average the panelists liked snacks made from chayote starch in terms of color, aroma, taste, texture and appearance.

Abstract

Desa Golo wua merupakan salah satu desa di bawah koordinasi dari Kecamatan Wae Ri’i, Manggarai, NTT. Penduduk Desa Golo Wua mempunyai mata pencarian utama sebagai petani penggarap maupun petani pemilik. Pola pertanian yang ada di desa Golo Wua menggunakan sistem pertanian tadah hujan. Adanya perubahan iklim tentu mempunyai dampak yang signifikan terhadap pola penanaman dan produksi hasil pertanian. Salah satu upaya untuk mendapatkan penambahan pendapatan keluarga dengan cara mengoptimalkan potensi-potensi desa yang ada. Pada pengabdian masyarakat ini, tim pengabdian berkolaborasi dengan pemerintah desa, tokoh adat untuk mengembangkan Desa Golo Wua sebagai desa wisata dalam jangka panjang. Berbagai aspek perlu dipersiapkan. Salah satu persiapannya adalah ketersediaan kelompok perempuan dalam membuat souvenir yang berbasis lokal, untuk menjadi daya tarik wisatawan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk: 1. Mengidentifikasi potensi-potensi lokal, budaya, untuk dapat menjadi sarana pengembangan desa wisata yang dapat menjadi alternatif peningkatan pendapatan keluarga di desa Golo Wua; 2. Pelatihan pembuatan souvenir berbasis bahan lokal pada kelompok perempuan di desa Golo Wua; 3. Menjalin Kerjasama antara tim pengabdian, pemerintah desa, dan tokoh adat dalam mengembangkan desa wisata di Desa Golo Wua. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan selama 8 bulan dengan melibatkan partisipasi kelompok ibu, tokoh adat, dan kaum muda yang berasal dari Desa Golo Wua. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menyimpulkan bahwa Desa Golo Wua mempunyai berbagai potensi lokal dari sumber daya alam, seperti kontur alam yang indah, tersedianya bahan kerajinan daun pandan dan tanaman pewarna alami. Potensi kegiatan budaya masih sangat terpelihara oleh masyarakat. Potensi sumber daya manusia berupa pengaruh tokoh adat yang masih kuat, dan kelompok perempuan yang mampu meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga melalui kerajinan dari daun pandan.Golo Wua Village is one of the villages under the coordination of Wae Ri'i sub-district, Manggarai, NTT. The residents of Golo Wua village have their main livelihood as sharecroppers and farmer owners. The agricultural pattern in Golo Wua village uses a rain-fed agricultural system. Climate change certainly has a significant impact on planting patterns and agricultural production. One effort to increase family income is by optimizing existing village potential. In this community service, the service team collaborates with the village government and traditional leaders to develop Golo Wua village as a tourist village in the long term. Various aspects need to be prepared. One of the preparations is the availability of women's groups to make locally based souvenirs, to attract tourists. This community service aims to: 1. identify local, cultural potential, to become a means of developing a tourist village which can be an alternative to increasing family income in Golo Wua village. 2. Training in making souvenirs based on local materials for women's groups in Golo Wua village. 3. Establish collaboration between the service team, village government and traditional leaders in developing a tourist village in Golo Wua village. The service activities were carried out for 8 months involving the participation of groups of mothers, traditional leaders and young people from Golo Wua village. The results of community service concluded that Golo Wua village has various local potentials from natural resources, such as beautiful natural contours, the availability of pandan leaf craft materials and natural dye plants. The potential for cultural activities is still very well maintained by the community. Human resource potential in the form of the influence of traditional leaders who are still strong, and women's groups who are able to increase family income through crafts from pandan leaves.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak merupakan fondasi dalam membangun suatu negara yang kokoh. Kenyataan pendidikan anak yang terjadi di Indonesia, khususnya di wilayah Nusa Tenggara Timur, pada perkampungan tradisional di Manggarai masih sangat membutuhkan dukungan dan sentuhan dari berbagai lembaga terkait. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk ujicoba kerjasama antar berbagai stakeholder yaitu peran keluarga, lembaga adat, pemerintah Desa dan Perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di kampung Meti, Desa Golo Wu’a, Kecamatan Wae Rii, Manggarai, Ruteng, Flores, NTT. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode action research,. Selain data yang digunakan untuk penelitian, masyarakat setempat akan merasakan manfaat langsung dari proses penelitian tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan: wawancara, Focus Group Discusion (FGD)/Diskusi kelompok Terarah, Uji Coba belajar bersama. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh gambaran profil pendidikan masyarakat di kampung meti serta persepsi masyarakat terhadap kegiatan uji coba belajar bersama. Berdasarkan profil pendidikan di kampung meti menunjukkan angka putus sekolah yang tinggi yaitu 89% dari warga kampung meti yang berjumlah 842 orang tidak mempunyai ijazah dan hanya berijazah SD. Hasil akhir dari adanya tindakan yang dilakukan terhadap orang tua, tokoh adat, pemerintah desa serta kegiatan belajar bersama anak, menunjukkan adanya sikap dan perubahan persepsi terhadap pendidikan anak.

Abstract

Natas is a public space in Manggarai with various forms. The shape and orientation of natas are influenced by parrots. This is based on the shape, orientation, location of the compang and the presence of mbaru. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the steps: identifying the typology of shape and orientation of natas through field observations and interviews as well as indirect observation via Google Maps and Google Earth, analyzing the relationship between natas, compang and mbaru, creating patterns and formulating shapes and orientations based on natas typology. The results of this research reveal the diversity of natas shapes with a dominance of circular shapes and a tendency to follow parrots spatially. Natas is a place of social activities and traditional ceremonies that represent the unity of the Manggarai community.

Abstract

Abstrak: Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada siswa sekolah dasar merupakan mendorong tim PkM untuk menerapkan strategi visualisasi yang diklaim dapat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Terdapat 15 orang siswa kelas IV yang dijadikan objek dalam kegiatan ini. Tes dilakukan sebanyak dua kali yakni tes awal dan tes akhir. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan beberapa langkah seperti menyiapkan bacaan, anak-anak diminta membaca dan memahami teks bacaan, tim memvisualisasikan secara lisan teks bacaan berupa cerita kepada anak-anak, meminta anak menceritakan ulang, dan anak-anak diberi kesempatan menulis kembali cerita yang sudah divisualisasikan (tes). Hasil kegiatan PkM mencerminkan bahwa strategi visualisasi terbukti membantu siswa dalam memahami isi bacaan yang divisualisasikan. Hal tersebut tersebut terbkuti pada meningkatnya nilai rata-rata kelas. Nilai rata-rata kelas sebelum diberi pendampingan adalah 55.66% sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas setelah diberi pendampingan adalah 90,66%.Abstract: The low reading comprehension skills of primary school students prompted the PkM team to implement a visualisation strategy that is claimed to help students improve their reading comprehension skills. Fifteen fourth-grade students were selected as subjects for this activity. The test was conducted twice, namely the pre-test and post-test. The activity was carried out in several steps, such as preparing the reading material, asking the children to read and understand the text, the team verbally visualising the text in the form of a story to the children, asking the children to retell the story, and giving the children the opportunity to rewrite the story that had been visualised (test). The results of the PkM activity reflect that the visualisation strategy proved effective in helping students understand the content of the visualised reading material. This was evidenced by the increase in the class average score. The class average score before the intervention was 55.66%, while the class average score after the intervention was 90.66%.
