Abstract

Marriage is a physical and spiritual bond between a man and a woman to build a life together, fostering a family. West Sulawesi Province is the region with the highest rate of early marriage in Indonesia. According to the 2020 National Social and National Survey (SUSENAS) data, the rate of early marriage in West Sulawesi reached 10.05 percent. These figures demonstrate that early marriage remains prevalent in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the working area of the Campalagian Health Center. Methods: An analytic survey with a cross-sectional design was used in this study, conducted in 2024. The population consisted of women of childbearing age (WUS) aged 15–25 years. A total of 87 participants were selected using purposive sampling and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test with the assistance of SPSS software. Results: The findings showed a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05), and between cultural values and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Among respondents who married before the age of 20, most had lower socioeconomic backgrounds or were influenced by traditions such as early arranged marriages. Conclusion: There is a significant association between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the Campalagian Health Center area. The study recommends that the government strengthen education and advocacy programs to reduce early marriage practices and raise awareness of its long-term health and social impacts.

Results: After the intervention, 26 (87%) pregnant women had good knowledge, 2 (7%) had sufficient knowledge, and 2 (7%) pregnant women had low knowledge. The results of the paired sample T-test showed a significant influence of the class of pregnant women in increasing knowledge about anemia risk factors with a sig value (0.000 <0.05. Then there was a difference in the average value between the pretest and posttest with a Mean Paired Differences of -4.366 (8.4333-12.8000 = -4.366) and the difference in the difference was between -5.19575 to -3.53758 (95% (Confidence Interval of the Difference Lower and Upper).

Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk (ASI) is the primary source of nutrition that influences the nutritional status and health of infants. The government has set a target of 50% for exclusive breastfeeding coverage for infants aged 0-6 months, but some regions still have low breastfeeding coverage. Insufficient breast milk production is the most common complaint expressed by postpartum mothers and is a contributing factor to the failure of exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding education and cultural food restrictions on the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Research Method: An analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was all 35 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 6 months and older residing in the Wara Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area in Palopo City. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria: Breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 6 months and older; 2) Willingness to participate in all stages of the four-week training; 3) No psychological disorders or serious medical conditions that could interfere with breastfeeding. Exclusion criteria: 1) Mothers who have premature babies with a gestational age of <34 weeks; and Babies who have congenital abnormalities that affect the ability to breastfeed. The sample size in this study according to Slovin can be determined by the formula. So the sample in this study was 35 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The collected data were then processed and analyzed using the SPSS statistical program analyzed with the Chi Square test. Research Results: Based on the results of the study using the Chi-Square statistical test, it shows a p value = 0.000, which is statistically very significant (p <0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between Exclusive Breastfeeding counseling and Exclusive Breastfeeding. The results of the bivariate chi square analysis showed a p value = 0.000 which is statistically very significant (p <0.05), indicating a relationship between the culture of food taboos and the success of Exclusive Breastfeeding. Conclusion: There is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding counseling and exclusive breastfeeding at the Wara Health Center, Palopo City in 2026 and there is a relationship between cultural food taboos and exclusive breastfeeding at the Wara Health Center, Palopo City in 2026.

Abstract

Cosmetics are substances or preparations used on the external parts of the human body (epidermis, hair, nails, lips, and external genital organs) primarily for cleansing, perfuming, altering appearance, or improving body odor, or for protecting or maintaining the body's health. Providing counselling and education on safe cosmetics to teenagers is not just about giving beauty tips; it's a crucial step in protecting their long-term health. Adolescents are in a phase of physical and hormonal transition that makes them very concerned about their appearance, but they often lack sufficient consumer literacy to distinguish between safe and harmful products. This counselling aims to educate students to be wiser in choosing safe cosmetics. The method used is direct socialization to students at SMKN 8 Makassar, providing counselling to assess the improvement in understanding after education, direct socialization, and socialization using leaflets. The results obtained show an increase in participants' knowledge of how to choose and use appropriate and safe daily cosmetics. The conclusion of this service activity is that the counselling on safe cosmetics is highly relevant and well-received by adolescents, and it is able to improve their understanding of safe cosmetics, so similar activities can be expanded to other locations.
