Abstract

Transformation of digital technologies, distinctive nature of artistic practices, and urgency of transition toward renewable energy introduce new conceptual challenges to accounting practices. Research examines how technology-mediated art curation, within the context of organizational governance and renewable energy projects, disrupts conventional accounting practices and broadens meaningful of accountability. Interpretive qualitative approach is employed through critical literature analysis and documentary studies of technology-based art curation practices, data visualization, and performative representations that foreground issues of value, sustainability, and accountability in the renewable energy sector. Thematic analysis is used to identify conceptual patterns interrelate accounting, art, technology, and energy. Findings demonstrate that art curation functions as an alternative form of accounting capable of representing the economic, social, and ecological value complexities of renewable energy in more narrative and reflective ways, while digital technologies amplify this disruptive capacity through visual and interactive experiences that move beyond static financial reports. Study reveals new insights showing that the integration of art, technology, and renewable energy contexts drives a shift toward multiple-narrative, more humanistic, and sustainability-oriented models of accountability. Main conclusion emphasizes that accounting should be understood as a social and cultural practice that is adaptive and responsive to environmental concerns and energy transition dynamics.

Abstract

Complex relationship between renewable energy deployment, governance quality, and energy justice outcomes across different countries. Given the global transition towards renewable energy (RE) as a means to mitigate climate change, the research examines how varying political and economic structures, along with socio-ecological trade-offs, affect the equitable distribution of the benefits and burdens of energy transitions. Using a panel dataset of global countries from 2000 to 2025, the study employs fixed-effects regression models and structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the effects of renewable energy expansion on energy justice, with particular attention to the mediating role of socio-ecological impacts such as land-use changes and local conflicts. Findings reveal that while RE deployment is positively associated with environmental sustainability, it does not always lead to improvements in energy justice. In some cases, it exacerbates inequalities in energy access and affordability, particularly in countries with weak governance and highly concentrated energy markets. Structural equation modeling reveals that while economic mechanisms function as significant mediators, the indirect pathway through socio-ecological trade-offs is statistically non-significant, indicating a decoupling between localized ecological impacts and macro-level energy justice outcomes. Research underscores importance of integrating political economy and governance considerations into renewable energy policy to achieve fair and just energy outcomes globally.

Abstract

Population growth and urbanization have increased waste generation and intensified global waste management challenges. In Indonesia, national waste generation reached 38.4 million tons in 2023, with 38.38% remaining inadequately managed. This study aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)-based system for automatic waste classification and real-time bin capacity monitoring. The system integrates the YOLOv8n model to identify four waste categories (organic, inorganic, hazardous/B3, and others) with ultrasonic sensors for capacity measurement, coupled with a web platform for data visualization. Model evaluation yielded a Macro F1-Score of 63.9%, with the best performance in the organic class (91.33%), followed by inorganic (68.37%), and hazardous/B3 (31.92%). Ultrasonic sensors demonstrated a near-linear relationship between waste height and capacity percentage (4.5% per cm), validating their reliability for real-time monitoring. The developed system proves the feasibility of AIoT integration for automated waste sorting, although further optimization is required to improve classification accuracy for minority classes. This research contributes to the development of intelligent solutions supporting more efficient and sustainable urban waste management.

Abstract

Green sustainability accounting emphasizes the utilization of biodegradable waste by transforming costs into energy. TPST 3R Mulyoagung Bersatu in Dau District is one of the community-based waste management initiatives, yet it faces challenges such as limited human resources, outdated technology, and an aging workforce. The average organic waste generated reaches 5 tons per day, but only 3.5 tons are processed, while the remainder leads to additional treatment costs. This community service program was carried out in stages, including socialization, training, application of automatic waste sorting technology and biogas reactors, mentoring, and strengthening sustainability through the establishment of self-managed community groups. The results show improved waste management capacity, optimized sorting, a 80% increase in managerial skills, a 20% reduction in operational costs, and a 50% increase in compost and biogas production. The program contributes to the achievement of SDGs 8, 11, 12, and 13, generating dual benefits of a cleaner environment and new economic opportunities. In conclusion, integrating technology with community empowerment effectively reduces costs, addresses organic waste problems, and should be supported through policy expansion and replication of the model in other areas of Malang Regency.

Abstract

This study presents the development and implementation of an intelligent air quality monitoring system for waste treatment facilities utilizing Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and eco-enzyme technology to address hazardous gas emissions including hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia (NH₃), and methane (CH₄) in landfill areas. The system integrates MQ-series gas sensors (MQ-136, MQ-137, and MQ-4) with an ESP32 microcontroller for real-time data acquisition, achieving exceptional performance with prediction accuracy exceeding 90% and a final Mean Squared Error of 0.006 after 2000 training epochs. Correlation analysis revealed strong negative relationships between gaseous pollutants and the Quality Index (r = -0.96 to -0.97, p < 0.001), confirming these gases as reliable predictors of air quality degradation. Cloud integration through Google Firebase and Blynk platforms enables remote monitoring and real-time data accessibility, while the implementation of eco-enzyme technology demonstrated significant effectiveness in reducing harmful gas emissions and mitigating unpleasant odors, with measurable improvements observed during the observation period. The system's ability to provide accurate predictions, automated control mechanisms, and comprehensive real-time monitoring positions it as a valuable tool for pollution mitigation efforts in landfill environments, contributing positively to public health outcomes and environmental sustainability.
