Abstract

Hypertension is a global health problem. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 26.5% and there have been 9.4 million people out of 1 billion people in the world die from cardiovascular disorders. Data from the Jambi Provincial Health Office shows that hypertension ranks 2nd out of the 5 biggest diseases in Jambi. factors that affect blood pressure such as; age, stress, ethnicity, gender, daily variation, medication, activity, weight, and smoking. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between stress and physical activity with blood pressure. The method of this research is in essential hypertensive patients in the Working Area of Talang Bakung Health Center, Jambi City. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted on 1 - 11 August 2018 with a sample of 41 people, purposive sampling technique. Data collection is done using guided interviews using a questionnaire. The results of the study were analyzed using the chi square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents 35 (85.4%) experienced hypertension, some respondents 24 (58.5%) experienced stress and most 26 (63.4%) respondents had heavy physical activity. The results of statistical tests were obtained (p-value 0.003 & 0.018) p-value <0.05, meaning that there was a significant relationship between stress and physical activity with blood pressure in essential hypertensive patients. The conclusion of the study is that, as severe as stress is deep in patients with hypertension, the higher the blood pressure and the more severe physical activity carried out will cause an increase in blood pressure. It is expected that nurses can provide health education to people with hypertension in order to avoid stress and reduce physical activity so there is no increase in blood pressure

Abstract

Corona virus has caused 3 major disease outbreaks in the world over the last 2 decades, namely SARS, MERS, and Covid-19. The high number of cases of the corona virus has led to an increase in the number of patients in hospitals. Nurses are health workers who have the most frequent contact with patients, and have challenges to continue to provide professional nursing care at the risk of contracting or becoming a victim of Covid-19. This study aims to identify the experiences of nurses while caring for patients with Covid-19. This study is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach that was carried out at the Jambi City Hospital from September 2020 to August 2021. The population in this study was nurses who served at the Covid-19 referral hospital. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with 13 participants, data collection was done by in-depth interviews, via telephone, and observation. The data collected were analyzed by the Creswell method. Based on the results of the study, five themes were obtained, namely Knowledge about Covid-19, Loyalty in caring for Covid-19 patients, Attention to caring for Covid-19 patients, Efforts to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission, and support from hospital management and families for nurses. The conclusion of this study is that the professionalism of nurses remains the main thing in treating Covid-19 patients even though nurses are overshadowed by feelings of fear and anxiety when treating Covid-19 patients. Efforts that need to be made are training related to the latest Covid-19 health care services, family and social support, as well as mentoring and improving the spirituality of nurses.

Abstract

Based on health surveys, 30% of Indonesians are hypertensive.  Hypertension is a risk factor for the third-leading cause of death after stroke and tuberculosis, i.e. 67% of the population of deaths at all ages. The number of an elderly female with essential hypertension at the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city year 2017 as many as 191 people. This study aimed to determine is there the effect of giving progressive muscle relaxation techniques toward changes in blood pressure in elderly with essential hypertension. This study used one group pre-post test design method; it used simple random sampling technique, numbers of samples were 20 respondents. This study was conducted at Auditorium the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city from July 24th – 30th 2017. The instruments are Blood pressure measurement results, data analyzed as univariate and bivariate.  The findings indicated that p-value Systole blood pressure p-value = 0.000 and diastole p-value = 0.000, so it can conclude that there is the significant effect of Changes in blood pressure in the elderly with essential hypertension before and after the technique of progressive muscle relaxation at the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city.  It expected to Health workers can provide knowledge about progressive muscle relaxation technique exercises so that people with essential hypertension can control blood pressure independently at home.

Abstract

Nursing service management is an important aspect in moving nursing services towards good quality nursing services, accepted by patients as nursing service subjects. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population is all nurses in the Jambi Mental Hospital inpatient room as many as 113 people. Sampling using purposive sampling with a sample of 56 people. The results of the study showed that the results of statistical tests obtained P Value of 0.026. This shows that the function of the head of the room management is related to the performance of the implementing nurse. The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between the management function of the head of the room and the performance of the nurses at the Jambi Mental Hospital.
