Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to (1) describe the process of developing LKS with copy the master technique for learning to write valid exposition text, (2) practical  and (3) effective. The development mode used is 4-D model consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, development . This development process produces products in the form of LKS with copy the master technique for expository, valid, and effective expository writing material.The results of this study indicate that the resulting LKS categorized as valid, effective and practical. It is seen based on the value of validity, practicality and effectiveness of LKS. The overall LKS validity score is 77.15%, the average of practicality by teachers is 85% and the student is 83.33%) and effective.Based on the calculation with Likert formula obtained 85.25% results so that the use of LKS model with copy the master technique on writing material exposition effectively. Kata kunci: pengembangan , LKS, menulis teks eksposisi, teknik copy the master, validitas, efektivitas, praktikalitas

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this reseach is to explain the effect of discovery learning through audiovisual media toward writing skill on biographical text for ten grade of SMA Negeri 12 Padang students. This research used quantitative method which usedone group pretest and posttest  design. The population of this reseach was the ten grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Padang. There was 325 population but there was only class to be the sample. It was class X IPA 4 whivh consisted of 30 students that choosen by using purposive random sampling technique. The data of this research was the score of the result of students’ writing skill in biographical text before and after using discovery learning model throught audiovisual media. There are three result of this research. First, the students’ writing skill in biographical text before using discovery learning through audiovisual media was 53.65. Second, the students’writing skill biographical text after using discovery learning through audiovisual media was 80,11. Third, based on the t-test alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted on the significant degree 95% and degree (dk) = n-1 tcount> ttable (1,75>1,70). Kata kunci: discovery learning, media audiovisual, keterampilan menulis teks biografi

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 The purpose of this study is to describe the contribution of reading skills to appreciate the short story text writing skills of short story students in grade XI SMA Negeri 5 Bukittinggi. The data of this research is score of reading skill test result of appreciation of short story text and score of skill text writing skill test result. The collected data is analyzed according to the indicators to score and score the students. The instrument of this study is an objective test for the appreciative skills of reading short story text and performance tests for short story text writing skills. Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that the skill reading comprehension skills of the short stories contribute significantly to the skill of writing the short story of the students of grade XI SMA Negeri 5 Bukittinggi on the n-1 freedom degree (56-1 = 55) and 95% significant level. Kata kunci: kontribusi, membaca apresiatif, menulis, teks cerpen

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) to describe the skills of wrting the text of the explanation of the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Padang before using the serial image media aided problem based learning model, (2) to describe the skills of writing the text of the explanation of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang after using problem based learning model serial image media, (3) to analyze the effect of serial image media aided problem based learning model to the writing skills skill of class VIII SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of cooperative learning of think pair share type to writing skill in class VIII at Junior High School 30 Padang. The kind of this research is quantitative research with experiment metode. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of writing a one-act drama script grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 30 without the use of cooperative learning model types think pair share qualification enough (C) with an average value of 61,82. Second, the skills of writing a one-act drama script grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 30 by using cooperative learning model types think pair share is on the qualifications of either (B) with an average value of 82,32.  Third, based on the t-test results, it was concluded that the alternative hypothesis (H1) received on the standard of 95% and dk = (n1 + n2)-2 due tcount > ttable (9,32 > 1,67). Kata kunci: pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair share, menulis naskah drama satu babak

Abstract

The purposes of the article were to describe (1 ) good manners principle those are utilized in Talkshow “Neo Democrazy” at Metro TV , (2 ) converse strategies those are utilized in Talkshow “Neo Democrazy” at Metro TV.  This observational data is lingual dialogue record on Talkshow “Neo Democrazy” at Metro TV. Gathered data by utilized is tech learn, tech records and tech note. Observational finding can conclude following things. First, good manners principle that is utilized in Talkshow “Neo Democrazy” at Metro TV is maksim praise, maksim is humility, maksim is deal, maksim is sympathy, and maksim is generosity. Both of, converse strategy that is utilized in Talkshow “Neo Democrazy” at Metro TV is this as follows: frank converse strategy with positive good manners platitude and converse strategy speaks mind with negative good manners platitude. Relevant with research, recommended that maksim maksim's elect good manners gets language in hands down about television used by event filler so discourse it decent so person that is criticized, or is spoken not perceives to be pertained or anger with discourse that announced by comunicator.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze, (1) logical thinking ability of students, (2) argument essay writing skills of students, and (3) the relationship of logical thinking ability with the ability to write essays arguing graders X SMA Negeri 1 Rao Pasaman district. This research using quantitative approach with the korelasional method. This is a sample research students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Rao Pasaman listed in the 2011/2012 school year with the number of 34 people. This research Data obtained through objective tests for logical thinking ability and performance tests for the ability to write essays arguing. Research findings the first, that logical thinking ability of students is sufficient qualification with an average rating of 63,53. Second, the ability to write essays arguing students is qualifying more than enough with the average value of 72.79. Third, there is a relationship between logical thinking ability with the ability to write essays arguing students district with thitung obtained is 3.02 and 1,697 ttabel means thitung is greater than ttabel. Thus H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on those results can be noted that the ability to think logically-related argument essay writing skills of students. The better the students ability in logical thinking, then the better the students ability in writing as well as a bouquet of argumentation.

Abstract

This article was written that has purpose to describe the kind of social critic in the short story, Harian Kompas January 2012 edition, and also describe what is the cause of social critics in the short story, Harian Kompas January 2012 edition. This research used descriptive method that was a method to describe about the event in objective. This research data was consisting about the events that related with social problems in that short story. Based on the result of this research has gotten some kinds of social critics, those are: (1) a justice problem, (2) poverty problem, (3) victim, (4) the problem of modern life society, and (5) the problem about violation of society norms. There are some factors that cause of social critics, those are: (1) economic factor, and (2) psychology factor.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the writing skill of the argumentative essay of Grade X students of SMK N 1 Batusangkar was low, so it needs a strategy that can improve the writing skills of argumentative essay. This research is a classroom action research by using descriptive method. The data described in a qualitative research based on observation sheets, field notes, and test. For the students’ achievement, data obtained from the performance tests by writing argumentative essay. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle had two meetings. The procedure of every cycle consists of four steps, namely (1) planning, (2) actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The subjects were students of class X. K.1 of SMK N 1 Batusangkar. They were 34 students. Based on the description and analysis of the finding, some conclusions can be drawn: First, the process of learning by using Contextual Approach in teaching writing of argumentative essay ran well.  Second, the average writing skills test in writing argument essay by using Contextual Approach increased from 23.53% in first cycle to 94.11% in the second cycle.
