Abstract

This research is motivated by three things. First, the lack of students reading skills . Second, students had difficulty finding the main idea in a reading, because students are less earnest in reading. Third, students are not able to make an argument writing effectively and efficiently. This study aims to describe the relationship of critical reading skills with essay writing skills argumetasi class XI student of SMA 2 Island Dharmasraya Arbor. This study was collected on December 29 and January 30, 2013. Quantitative type of research is descriptive method . The study population was a class XI student, amounting to 133 spread over four classes. This research instrument is an objective test for critical reading and performance tests to write the essay s argument. Based on the data analysis and discussion , it was concluded three things. First, critical reading skills is more than enough that is classified as 75.12 %. Second, the argument essay writing skills that students classified as either 83.08 %. Third, there is a significant relationship between critical reading skills with the skills of writing essays arguing with n - 1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95 % ( 3.5154 ). Based on these conclusions, Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted for the results of the test prove that t_ ( count ) is smaller than  t_tabel ie, 3.5154 > 1.70

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikanpola produktivitas pengarang dan penyebaran artikel  dalam jurnal-jurnal ilmiah bidang sastra di Indonesia tahun 2003 –2012. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan analisis bibliometrika.Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan mengidentifikasi artikel-artikel ilmiah di bidang sastra Indonesia yang terdapat dalam jurnal ilmiah yang terbit di Indonesia dari tahun 2003-2012 melalui Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD) PDII-LIPI.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hal-hal sebagai berikut. (1) Perkembangan jumlah artikel cenderung meningkat setiap tahunnya, terutama periode lima tahun terakhir dari 2008-2012 walaupun bersifat fluktuatif dan perkembangan jumlah pengarang artikel bidang sastra Indonesia juga cenderung meningkat setiap tahun, kecuali terjadi penurunan di tahun 2012. (2) Pola produktivitas pengarang artikel bidang sastra Indonesia tahun 2003-2012 berdasarkan Hukum Lotka terdapat kesesuaian teori, dimana lebih banyak pengarang yang berkontribusi untuk satu artikel dan sedikit pengarang yang  berkontribusi untuk lebih dari satu artikel. (4) Distribusi artikel dalam jurnal berdasarkan Hukum Bradford menunjukkan terdapat 4 jurnal inti, yaitu Metasastra, Atavisme, Kandai, dan Aksara.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study revealed the contribution of reading comprehension skills toward writing skill related to the description texts of that made by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. The purpose of this study was categorized into three-part. First, to describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Second, to describe the reading skills of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Third, to describe the contribution of reading comprehension skill to the writing skill of the description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. This type of study was quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study was the contribution design. The population of this study was students of class VII SMP Negeri 25 Padang in the 2019/2020 academic year about 256 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 25% of the population that was 64 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on reading comprehension skill test scores and scores on writing description text skill. The data were obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure the comprehension of reading skill and performance tests to measure description text writing skill. There were three results of this study. First, the description writing skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang was in good qualifications (B) with an average of 76.22. Second, reading comprehension skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang was in more than enough qualifications (LdC) with an average of 75,86. Third, there was a contribution to reading comprehension text skill on the ability to write description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang with percentage 42, 12%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks                                       Deskripsi

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article expressed the characteristics of the sentences in the exposition text of X grade students of Adabiah Padang High School. Two purposes of this study, the first one was to describe the sentence structure (subject, predicate, object, and description) contained in the text of exposition written by X grade. The second aim was to describe the type of sentence based on the number of clauses in the sentence (single  and compound sentences) contained in the text of exposition of X grade. The type of this research was  a qualitative using descriptive methods. This research was conducted at Adabiah Padang High School, especially in the  X grade which the total was 124 students. The entry of this study was the writing of exposition text by X grade in terms of sentence characteristics (sentence structure and type of  sentence). Data discussed was qualitative. The data analyzed in the form of sentence characteristics (structure and types of sentences) contained in the exposition text of the work of  X grade. Source of the data in this research was  the text of exposition written by X grade. There were two research findings which the first was  the sentence structure that was widely used by  X grade was  S + P + O pattern, the total was 88 sentences from 152 sentences studied. Second, the type of sentences used by X grade were single sentence types, which the amount was 140 sentences from 152 sentences studied. Kata kunci: Karakteristik, Kalimat, Teks Eksposisi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describing news text writing skills. Second, describe the skills of listening to news texts. Third, describe the correlation of listening to news text skills with news text writing skills. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this research is correlational. The population in this research were all eighth grade students of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, namely 223 student. There are two variable in this research, namely the dependent variable (Y) the ability to write news text and the independent variable (X) the skill of listening to news text. The data in this study were scores on the skills of writing news texts and skills score listening to news texts. The instrument used is a test, which is an objective test for listening to news text skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. The results of this research are three. First, news text writing skills of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (80,75). Second, listening to the news text skills of clas VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (77,57). Third, listening to news text skill correlates with news text writing skills. Based on this , it can be conclude that to improve writing skills, listening skills must be improved.  Kata kunci : Korelasi, Menyimak, Menulis, dan Teks Berita

Abstract

                                       ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the relation the mastery of the vocabulary environment to the skill writting the text of the exposition  students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method and correlational design. The sample in this study amounted to 44 people. The data of this research is score the mastery of the vocabulary environment the exposition text and skill test result writting the text of exposition. The data were gotten through an objective test intended to measure the students the mastery of the vocabulary environment and performance test intended to measure the students skills of writting the text of exposition. Based on data analysis, the following three things are obtained. First, skill of writing the exposition text students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 is in good qualification (81,91). Second, the skill the mastery of the vocabulary environment the exposition text of students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 is in good qualification (82,05). Third, there was a significant corelation between the students the mastery of the vocabulary environment of exposition text with the skills of writing the exposition text of strudent of class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 in which the significance level 95% with the degrees of freedom n-1 (dk = n-1). Based on this, it was concluded that writing an exposition text requers the mastery of environmental vocabulary. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Kosakata, Menulis, dan Teks Eksposisi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe reading skills, writing skills and describe the contribution of reading skills to the description of text description skills in writing description texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The population of this study was Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang, which were 224 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 35 students. The results of the study on reading skills in understanding the description text of students are in good qualification (B) with an average of 82.71. In writing description text skills students are in good qualification (B) with an average of 83.10. On the contribution of reading skills, the understanding of the description text towards the students' writing text writing skills is 94.48%. The better the reading skill of understanding the description text, the better the writing skills of the text description. Thus, to be skilled in writing the description text of class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang, good reading comprehension skills are also needed. Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks deskripsi,  keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to illusstrate the effect of using technic copy the master writing skill of drama text of VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Padang. This research data is a score in the skills of writing drama text before and after using technic copy the master. This study has three results. First, the skill of writing the text of drama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Padang before using copy the master technique is in qualification Labih of Enough (LdC) with average value 65,63. Second, the skill of writing the text of the drama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Padang after using the copy of the master is in the qualification of Good Qualification (B) with an average score of 76.91. The third is based on t-test, alternative hypothesis H1 accepted at significant level 95% and degrees of freedom (dk) = (n-1) because ttabel<thitung (1,70<3,68). Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that the skill of writing the text of drama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Padang after using copy the master technique is better than before using copy the master technique. Thus, copy the master technique can be applied as an alternative in learning skill writing text. Kata kunci: pengaruh, teknik Copy the Master, teks drama

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the effect of cooperative learning model type jigsaw on reading comprehension skills of explanatory text of students of class XI SMKN 1 Payakumbuh. The data in this research are two, namely the comprehension text reading comprehension skills before using the jigsaw type cooperative learning model obtained through objective test of 33 items and tested on May 14, 2018 and skill reading comprehension text data after using jigsaw type cooperative learning model obtained through objective test of 33 items and tested on May 17, 2018. Based on the research, it can be concluded that cooperative learning model of jigsaw type can be used as an alternative of learning comprehension reading comprehension skills of school text. Kata kunci: pengaruh, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw, membaca pemahaman, teks eksplanasi
