Abstract

The main challenge of biomass cofiring at Pelabuhan Ratu Power Plant is the high moisture and low calorific value of the biomass (sawdust). This biomass characteristic causes low green energy production despite high biomass utilization. Meanwhile, the green energy production target continues to increase in the upcoming year, according to PLN's Cofiring Roadmap. This research focuses on the selection of biomass dryers using Multi-Criteria Decision Making, including rotary dryers, packed moving bed dryers, and flash dryers. The method used was the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) using four criteria and eight sub- criteria. Seven experts were asked to complete the criteria ranking questionnaire for AHP input. Other relevant data were also collected, such as operational data, risk management, internal discussions, literature studies, and others. The top 3 criteria with the highest global weight (AHP results) are Biomass Characteristics (28.1%), Safety (20.5%), and Environment (17.8%). TOPSIS calculation resulted in the rotary dryer being the best alternative biomass dryer. Furthermore, a sensitivity test was conducted by changing the weight of each of the top 3 criteria by -25% and +25%. The results show that the rotary dryer is consistently the best alternative.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to design an innovative Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah (AIK) curriculum based on a deep learning pedagogical framework to strengthen the formation of Muhammadiyah identity among students at Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto. The research addresses the limitations of conventional AIK learning models that remain predominantly cognitive, normative, and ritualistic, and have not yet effectively facilitated value internalization and identity construction. The study employs a design-based research (DBR) approach by integrating Muhammadiyah theological foundations, educational psychology of identity formation, and deep learning pedagogy. The curriculum design is developed through iterative stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Deep learning principles applied include meaningful learning, reflective engagement, critical consciousness, value internalization, and transformative praxis. Data were generated through document analysis, focus group discussions, expert validation, and limited pilot implementation within the AIK learning context. The study produces a structured AIK curriculum model consisting of learning outcomes, learning pathways, instructional strategies, learning activities, assessment frameworks, and identity-based learning indicators. The model is organized into four integrative dimensions: theological grounding, ideological internalization, socio-cultural engagement, and civic-ethical praxis. The curriculum systematically transforms AIK learning from doctrinal transmission into a process of identity formation, enabling students to embody Muhammadiyah values in personal, social, and civic life. This research offers an original contribution by integrating deep learning pedagogy with Islamic curriculum design and identity-based education within Muhammadiyah higher education. Practically, the model provides a scalable and adaptable framework for AIK curriculum reform across Muhammadiyah universities, supporting sustainable character formation, ideological internalization, and transformative student development in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

Learning about relationships and properties of functions in secondary schools is still predominantly procedural, limiting students' conceptual understanding. This study aimed to analyze the need for developing Augmented Reality (AR) learning media integrated with a deep learning approach to strengthen students' conceptual understanding of relationships and properties of functions. A descriptive study with a mixed methods approach was employed, combining questionnaire and interview data from 39 high school mathematics teachers (13 from Merangin Regency, Jambi, and 26 from Purworejo Regency, Central Java). Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The findings revealed that students continue to experience difficulties in general concept understanding (26%), specific concepts understanding (62%), and application skills (33%). Teachers also reported that existing learning media is insufficient for visualizing abstract mathematical concepts interactively. Although the implementation of AR remains limited, teachers expressed positive perceptions of its potential and emphasized the need for learning media featuring three-dimensional visualization, interactive simulations, contextual examples, and adaptive learning activities. These findings provide a strong empirical basis for the design and development of AR-based learning media and confirm that this study represents the needs analysis stage, which will inform subsequent media development and validation.
