Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of using Hand Paddles and Leg Loads on the speed of 50 meter freestyle swimming in Rejang Lebong Regency. The method used is quantitative research with One Group Pre-test – Post-test Design. The research population consisted of 40 freestyle swimming athletes in Rejang Lebong Regency who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a 50 meter freestyle swimming test, and data analysis involved prerequisite tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. This study resulted in a significant difference between the use of paddles and leg load on speed in 50-meter freestyle swimming athletes and there was an increase in the effect of the relationship between achievement of freestyle swimming time before and after treatment. Freestyle swimming exercises using hand paddles and without hand paddles both give a good effect, the intensity increases for 16 meetings. mix training program with the given training pattern, in order to increase swimming speed so that it affects freestyle swimming speed.

Abstract

This study critically examines the integration of technology and performance enhancement in plyometric training, particularly in high school volleyball players in Indonesia. The research investigates how technology and scientific advances can be incorporated into the plyometric training methodology to elevate volleyball skills and diminish the risk of injury among young Indonesian athletes. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection through literature studies from various sources. Primary data sources from several research results are supplemented with some relevant secondary data. The results and conclusions of this study provide valuable insights into how cultural attitudes towards sports science and technology in Indonesia can shape the adoption and effectiveness of advanced plyometric training methods among high school volleyball players. Furthermore, the study evaluates the knowledge and practice of volleyball coaches in Indonesia related to plyometric training and identifies potential gaps in volleyball education and training, with the potential to significantly impact the field of sports science and volleyball training.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The importance of physical fitness in volleyball and its application in physical education which has not been maximized has encouraged research on the analysis of the impact of physical fitness on volleyball learning in relation to a longitudinal review of the aspects of speed, strength, and flexibility from the perspective of a sports pedagogy approach. Methodology: This study uses a longitudinal approach to analyze changes in aspects of learning evaluation and physical fitness of students over a period of 24 weeks involving three main parameters, namely: strength, speed, and flexibility through test instruments, to then be analyzed using repeated measurements of one factor (ANOVA) and measuring effect size with Hedges' g. Main Findings: The results of the study revealed that volleyball learning has a positive impact on students' learning achievement patterns and physical fitness in terms of speed, strength, and flexibility viewed from sports pedagogy. The implications of these findings are relevant to the development of physical education curricula and sports training programs along with their assessments that provide a scientific basis for planning sustainable training programs. Novelty/Originality of this study: The analysis of volleyball learning and its impact in the field of physical education evaluation in this study focuses on analyzing the sports pedagogy approach so that it not only analyzes the impact of learning but also develops an analysis related to aspects of physical fitness and learning as a whole using a longitudinal review from a sports pedagogy perspective.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The importance of arm muscle strength and leg muscle explosive power in contributing to volleyball smash ability prompted researchers to analyze their magnitude in relation to student or athlete achievement in volleyball learning, which is part of the physical education curriculum program. Methodology: This type of research is quantitative, using a correlational approach with a quasi-experimental method. The population in this study were volleyball athletes with a sample of 20 athletes. The instruments used in this research were the hanging elbow test, vertical jump test and smash ability test. Meanwhile, this research data analysis technique uses statistical data analysis through linearity and correlation tests. Main Findings: Based on the research results, it was found that arm muscle strength and leg muscle explosive power make a significant contribution and have a big influence on the smash ability of athletes or students. Therefore, these findings require follow-up regarding the development of innovative teaching resources, such as textbooks or monographs, as a step to improve an athlete's or student's smashing ability in the volleyball learning process, thereby increasing students' motivation and learning outcomes. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research provides an in-depth analysis of the athlete's arm muscle strength and leg muscle explosive power on their smash ability by designing a training program and strategy that are more effective and suitable for improving volleyball smash ability.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in sports has encouraged the digitalization of competition management systems, including the process of score recording by referees. In tennis competitions, score recording is still commonly conducted manually using paper-based score sheets, which are often inefficient, prone to data loss, and difficult to monitor in real time by stakeholders. This study aimed to implement and evaluate the use of an Android-based digital score sheet application, Dik_Tennis Score, to support tennis referees in Central Java in preparation for the Pre-Regional Sports Week (Pra-PORPROV) and the XVII PORPROV events in 2025/2026. The research employed a training-based implementation approach involving tutorials, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and monitoring and evaluation of referees’ ability to operate the application. Participants included regional, national, and white-badge tennis referees who were actively involved in officiating tennis competitions in Central Java. The findings revealed that most referees had previously relied on manual score recording and had limited experience with digital systems. After participating in the training and practical sessions, approximately 80% of the referees were able to independently operate the Dik_Tennis Score application to record match events and transmit results online. The implementation of this digital system improves the efficiency of match administration, facilitates real-time monitoring of match scores, and enables systematic storage of competition data through a web-based database. Therefore, the adoption of an Android-based digital score sheet application has significant potential to enhance the quality of tennis match officiating and support the broader digital transformation of sports competition management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of brown sugar suplement on heart rate recovery in Voppick Kebumen women's volleyball athletes. This study uses an experimental method with a two-period crossover design. The research sample amounted to 30 female volleyball athletes who were divided into two groups. This research instrument uses bleep test which aims to increase the athlete's pulse until it reaches a tired state, pulse measurement using palpation techniques and also stopwatches to measure recovery time. The results of this study show that brown sugar solution has a significant influence on  the pulse recovery  of Voppick Kebumen women's volleyball athletes. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it showed a Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05 with a t-value of 18.489 and the results of  the effect size calculation, obtained a Cohen's d value of 2.212 which belongs to the large category. The conclusion of this study shows that the administration of brown sugar solution drinks has a significant influence on  pulse recovery in women's volleyball athletes Voppick Kebumen. In addition, brown sugar suplement have been shown to be effective in helping to speed up the recovery of the pulse after physical activity.

Abstract

The overhead passing technique is one of the most important basic techniques in volleyball because it helps organize attacks and maintain the flow of the game. However, during training, some athletes still struggle to control the direction and accuracy of the ball during overhead passes. This study aims to determine the effect of overhead passing training with a target ring on the accuracy of overhead passing among extracurricular volleyball athletes. This study used an experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest. The subjects were 20 extracurricular volleyball athletes at State High School 1, Pegandon. Data collection was conducted using an overhead passing skill test. The data were then analyzed using a paired-samples t-test to determine the difference in results before and after treatment. The results showed an increase in overhead passing ability after training with a target ring. The average pretest score of 8.85 increased to 15.25 in the posttest. The results of the paired-samples t-test showed a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, it can be concluded that overhead passing training using a ring target significantly improves the accuracy of overhead passing among extracurricular volleyball athletes.

Abstract

The study was motivated by the low ability of students to perform basic volleyball skills, especially the underhand pass, which is influenced by a learning process that tends to be less varied and less engaging. Therefore, an innovation in learning is needed through simpler and more enjoyable game modifications suited to elementary school students. This study aims to examine the effect of modified Volkraw games on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Sekaran State Elementary School 02 in Physical Education, particularly in volleyball material. This research employed a quantitative experimental approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 20 fifth-grade students of Sekaran State Elementary School 02. The instrument used was a learning outcomes assessment sheet covering psychomotor, cognitive, and affective aspects. Data were collected through tests and observations, then analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics, including normality and homogeneity tests, as well as hypothesis testing with a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the average pretest score was 20.90, which increased to 32.20 in the posttest. The paired-samples t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the modification of the Volkraw game had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of modified Volkraw games is effective in improving volleyball learning.

Abstract

The Banjarnegara Regency Women's Volleyball Team will face the Pre-Porprov Event, which is a reguler sporting event held only once every four years. Currently, the level of mental readiness of the athletes is unknown due to the long gap since the previous regular tournament. In fact, mental readiness is a very important factor in determining an athlete's performance in competition. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the mental readiness of athletes in the aspects of motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, and the importance of the team. This study is a quantitative study with a survey design. The analysis used statistical analysis and descriptive exploratory methods. The results of the analysis of the Mental Readiness of Women Volleyball Athletes in Facing the Pre-Porprov Event are included in the "sufficient" category. The research focused on factors of motivation, self-confidence, anxiety, and the importance of the team. It is hoped that further research can add other psychological aspects. The conclusion of the results of this study is that the supporting factors in the mental readiness of women volleyball athletes include the motivation factor in the "sufficient" category, the self-confidence factor in the "sufficient" category, the anxiety factor in the "sufficient" category, and the factor in the "sufficient" category of the importance of the team. In this study, coaches must continuously monitor athletes' mental readiness during each training session for a championship.

Abstract

Football is a globally popular sport that demands high physical strength, strategy, and technical mastery, particularly in the fundamental skill of passing. At Football Academy HW Temanggung KU-12, initial observations revealed that many young players experienced tactical confusion and technical weaknesses, such as undirected passing and poor ball possession. These issues were largely attributed to static and monotonous training methods that failed to simulate real match conditions. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the Small Side Games (SSG) method on improving football passing accuracy among players in the U-12 category. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of 20 players from Football Academy HW Temanggung KU-12. Data were collected through a standard passing accuracy test before and after a 16-session treatment involving 3 vs 3 to 5 vs 5 game modifications. Data analysis included normality and homogeneity tests, followed by a Paired Sample T-Test to evaluate performance changes.The findings demonstrated a measurable increase in performance, with the average passing accuracy score rising from 17.70 in the pretest to 21.50 in the posttest. Statistical validation showed a calculated T-value of 7.933, which exceeded the T-table value of 1.729, supported by a P-value of 0.000. This intervention resulted in a total percentage increase in passing accuracy of 21.46%. Based on the results, it is concluded that the Small Side Games method provides a substantial boost to the technical proficiency of young athletes. The SSG approach creates a dynamic and contextual environment that allows players to touch the ball more frequently and make quicker decisions. This method is a highly effective tool for coaches to resolve tactical coordination weaknesses and accelerate the development of motor skills in early-age football players.
