Abstract

In the repair of the installation of air conditioners or refegeration are oftenfound referigeran (ACR) tube that must be replaced because the old copper tubeleaked on the connection. Replacement is done because the repair of the connectionby cutting and flaring the connection usually fails in the form of a tear on the flaredpart.The cause of flaring failure in the used air conditioner tube by testing themechanical properties and the microstructure of the material and compared with themechanical properties and the microstructure of the new tube material.Knowing thecauses of the failure can be searched for the prevention and repair solutions so thatthe old tube can be used without replacement.The tensile test results showed that the average ultimate strength of the usedACR copper tube has increase in strength of 18188.65 N/mm2 comparing with theultimate strength of the new copper tube which was only 14615.15 N/mm2.The microVickers test results show the same phenomenon from the tensile test results, wherethe hardness value of used ACR tube has 42.7 HV while the new ACR tube is 37.8HV.Microstructure testing with SEM shows the changing in grain structure from alongitudinal shape with a large enough grain size and tenuous in a new tube, to moreflat and dense longitudinal grain structure for used tube.

Abstract

The welding is the process of connecting two metals, where factors that influence are current, voltage, plate thickness, gap shape and heating temperature of the electrode. The heating of this electrode aims to stabilize the arc arising during welding. The objective of the study was to determine the maximum hardness of low carbon steel welding with E 7018, with temperature of electrode storage at temperature 50, 75 and 100 ° C. Determine the maximum change in the hardness of the welded by using heated electrodes preheated to an initial temperature of 50, 75 and 100 ° C. Compare its hardness to the standard. The specimen-making method is based on JIS Z 3121, further data are compared against the standard. The result of maximum hardness value for slit I is 175HV and for slit V 264HV in weld area with temperature 75 ° C, hardness change of 33HV for temperature 100 °C.

Abstract

The combustion process is one of the alternative methods of processing waste are effectively used in the processing of household organic waste. In this study used a continuous combustion incinerator system, with a flow rate of garbage 10 kg / h and a water content of 15% by the air blast rate of 1,5 - 2,5 liters / sec. Heat of combustion is used to heat water in a boiler that is monitored / measured temperature and vapor pressure. This study aimed to obtain characterization Heating (temperature vs. time) and the potential energy that can be used to heat water in a kettle containing 5 liters of water with warming from the burning of household organic waste experimentally. Based on visual observation and temperature measurement, combustion of household organic waste can produce a continuous burning about 30 minutes, and the temperature between 350-400oC on the outer side walls of the boiler / closest to the combustion chamber, the water in the kettle boiling (100 ° C) after about 25 minutes, from the observed data can be calculated energy that can be utilized for heating is from about 5000 KJ of energy generated from waste incineration, 2000 to 3000 KJ can be used for heating water in a 5 liter boiler. Abstract

Zeolites including absorbent types that can absorb exhaust emissions of combustion are not stochiometri, through the activation process consists of physical and chemical processes. Zeolite powder which has been active subsequently compacted and placed in the vehicle exhaust. The purpose of the research to determine how much change the optimum emissions, minimum and average of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) are mounted in a standard exhaust from extensive contacts zeolite catalyst 1300, 1760, 2260cm2. In addition, to determine how large the percentage change in the optimum power, minimum and average of 1486cc engine when installed catalyst with extensive contacts with the standards. How large is the current AFR optimum and minimum reduction CO, HC, and the power generated. Test method for the activation of the catalyst using the BET and testing of power, torque, emissions of CO and HC engine valve opening fully to start the engine rev up to 4000rpm stationary. Large volumes of fuel 100ml, with a range of changes in the engine rotation 500rpm for each test.The results showed a large reduction of 45.54 optimum.%, Minimum 44.00.% And the average CO at 44.97.% While the HC reduction of 31.44%, minimum, optimum average of 33.33% and 32.44% to the 3000 standard round for CO and HC 2500 for wide when contact 1760cm2. 9.31% decline optimum power, minimum of 6.83% and an average of 7.86% at 14.78 AFR and 3000rpm.Keywords: carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, power
