Roles and Functions of Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa in Managing Kraton Yogyakarta Museum Pritandari, Yohana Raras; Ratnaningtyas, Yohana Ari; Putra, Trisna Pradita

Abstract

Kraton Yogyakarta Museum is a non-profit institution owned by Kraton Yogyakarta, which has four units: Kedhaton, Wahanarata, Pagelaran, and Tamansari. In 2023, Kraton Yogyakarta Museum was started to be managed by Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa in terms of museum assets and tourism. This research described roles and functions of museum management theory by Lord and Lord (2009) compared with Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa management practice. This research used descriptive qualitative research method, and data collection technique carried out by observations, interviews and literature review. Results found that the role of Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa is to manage museum administrations and managements. The head or Penghageng of Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa is a level two Penghageng, so every mandate, coordinations, and approvals are given by GKR Bendara as Penghageng KHP Nitya Budaya. Five roles of museum management, to inspire, to communicate, to lead, to control, to evaluate were done by the coordinators. Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa applied the functions of museum management, administrations, collection assets, and museum activities managed by two different Kawedanan. Four functions, administration, research, display, interpretation, were managed by Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa. Two functions, documentations and preservation in conservation and curator were managed by Kawedanan Purayakara. One function collecting was done by Penghageng KHP Nitya Budaya approval. Kawedanan Radya Kartiyasa and Kawedanan Purayakara are Kawedanan under KHP Nitya Budaya supervision.

Abstract

The Central Museum of the Indonesian National Army Dharma Wiratama Army is one of the museums whose management is under the auspices of the Army and whose direction is managed by the Central Museum and Monuments of the Army History Service. The primary collection is the longbarreled weapons used by the Army during the era of independence until now. Preventive conservation is a conservation action categorized as the most essential action or category. Museum staff can carry out preventive conservation without having to study this knowledge in depth. This research was carried out to determine how preventive conservation actions or activities were carried out on the weapons collection at the Dharma Wiratama TNI AD Museum. They are using qualitative methods with a case study type. Interviews, observation, and document study are the data collection methods used in this research. The research results show that several agents of damage occur in museums, namely physical forces and theft, pollutants, humidity, ultraviolet light, and temperature. Preventive conservation actions or activities by the Dharma Wiratama TNI AD Museum. Includes security, controlling temperature, humidity, lighting, and moving or transporting collections.

Abstract

Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah pengelola desa wisata dan ketua-ketua kelompok yang terkait serta masyarakat sekitar. Setelah peserta mendapatkan materi pelatihan, diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Dengan demikiantarget yang diharapkan dapat tercapai, yakni:1) meningkatnya kemampuan dan pengetahuan pengelola desa wisata dalam hal manajemen dan pemasaran 2) tersedianya brosur dan company profile sebagai sarana promosi yang berisi informasi tentang produk Desa Wisata Jipangan. Metode yang akan dipakai dalam pencapaian tersebut didahului dengan sosialisasi program untuk menciptakan komunikasi serta membantu meningkatkan pemahaman pengelola tentang pentingnya program pengembangan desa wisata. Dalam proses ini pengelola desa wisata bersama-sama dengan tim pengusul mengidentifikasi dan mengkaji permasalahan, potensi serta peluangnya.Setelah teridentifikasi disusun rencana kegiatan yang konkrit dan realistis dalam bentuk program pelatihan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam memahami masalah-masalah yang menjadi kendala bagi pengembangan desa wisata dan memberikan pengalaman praktis sesuai dengan perkembangan terkini. Materi yang akan diberikan adalah Seni Pertunjukan, Manajemen Seni, Pelatihan Pariwisata dan Pelatihan Pemasaran. Kemudian diadakan monitoring dan evaluasi yang merupakan suatu proses penilaian, pengkajian dan pemantauan kegiatan ini, baik proses pelaksanaan maupun hasil dan dampaknya yang dilakukan agar sesuai dengan tujuan semula.

Abstract

The Infinity Sculpture by Dunadi is a media representation of the idea of the eternal function of bicycles over time. The infinity statue is primarily made of ferrous metal, so it has the potential for damage in the form of patina and rust, especially when exposed to direct sunlight, rainwater, oxygen, and other substances that accelerate corrosion growth. The current condition of the infinity statue by Dunadi could be better because most of the paint has peeled off, and rust has grown on the entire surface of the metal that is not covered with paint. This article discusses the application of modern metal conservation methods to Dunadi’s Infinity Sculpture. This study’s contemporary metal conservation method compares several synthetic chemicals to clean rust on metal and then apply it to Dunadi’s Infinity Statue. The synthetic chemicals used are some of the rust-cleaning agents available. Synthetic chemicals are available because they are easy to obtain and relatively safe. We tested Several brands of rust cleaners available on the market on metal objects similar to the material for making infinity statues. As a result, the most effective rust- cleaning chemicals contain hydrochloric acid. Patung Infinity karya Dunadi merupakan representasi media dari gagasan tentang fungsi abadi sepeda dari waktu ke waktu. Patung infinity utamanya terbuat dari logam besi, sehingga berpotensi mengalami kerusakan berupa patina dan karat, terutama jika terkena sinar matahari langsung, air hujan, oksigen, dan zat lain yang mempercepat pertumbuhan korosi. Kondisi patung infinity karya Dunadi saat ini bisa lebih baik karena sebagian besar catnya sudah terkelupas, dan karat sudah tumbuh di seluruh permukaan logam yang tidak dilapisi cat. Artikel ini membahas penerapan metode konservasi logam modern pada Patung Infinity karya Dunadi. Metode konservasi logam kontemporer dalam penelitian ini membandingkan beberapa bahan kimia sintetis untuk membersihkan karat pada logam lalu mengaplikasikannya pada Patung Infinity karya Dunadi. Bahan kimia sintetis yang digunakan merupakan beberapa bahan pembersih karat yang tersedia. Bahan kimia sintetis tersedia karena mudah diperoleh dan relatif aman. Kami menguji beberapa merek pembersih karat yang tersedia di pasaran pada benda logam yang mirip dengan bahan untuk membuat patung infinity. Hasilnya, bahan kimia pembersih karat yang paling efektif mengandung asam klorida.
