Abstract

Vocabulary mastery has crucial roles in language learning. Learners would be unable to engage in language development activities such as grammar, reading, and writing if they did not have adequate vocabulary. This study aimed to determine the effects of Problem Based Learning model on vocabulary mastery. It involved 18 grade students living in Windusari Village, Magelang. Due to interaction restriction on Pandemic era, it was not conducted at school. Pre-Experimental Designs was employed in this study. There was one group as the sample given 4-meeting-treatment. The data were gathered through tests consisting multiple choice items assumed to be valid through Product Moment Test. Then they were statistically analyzed using Paired Sample t-test. The result revealed that Asymp Sig (2-tailed) was 0.000 and the t value was 14.806 > t table 2.10982. In sum, there was a positive and significant influence of Problem Based Learning to increase the vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa menjadi salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan prestasi belajar siswa menurun. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena keingintahuan mereka tentang mata pelajaran masih rendah, faktor dari luar (teman, keluarga, dan lingkungan) yang tidak mendukung untuk mempelajari mata pelajaran matematika dan lain sebagainya. Sedangkan prestasi belajar matematika dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor misalnya aktifitas belajar belajar siswa, model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru dalam mengajar, kemampuan siswa dalam menerima pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru, motivasi belajar siswa dan lain sebagainya. Partisipasi peran guru dan peran orang tua dalam motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika sangatlah penting. Keberhasilan pembelajaran anak merupakan tanggung jawab bersama dan kewajiban pemerintah serta lembaga sekolah, tetapi guru pertama untuk orang anak-anak yaitu orang tua. Karena sebab itu, dimasukkannya orang tua dalam pendidikan mereka sangat mempengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa, pencapaian minat, dan hasil belajar anak-anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. (1) Visi dan misi sekolah; (2) Analisa data guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar; (3) Penetapan tata tertib sekolah dan tata tertib kelas; (4) Penerapan nilai-nilai agama dan etika; dan (5) peran keluarga dalam proses pembelajaran di rumah.

Abstract

Teaching material is important to be applied in the teaching and learning process. It is supposed to be related to the student’s needs and traits. Nevertheless, there are several appropriateness of worksheet compiling as supporting material. The research in this paper attempted to find out the need for Multiple Intelligence-based student’s worksheet developments and offer possible recommendations. It employed a qualitative approach and involved 13 English teachers as respondents. They were from selected elementary schools located in various regencies in Central Java. A set of questionnaires was administered and delivered online through Google Forms. It is provided a number of closed and open-ended questions related to the existing curriculum, competency, media and activities, students’ characters, and challenges in compiling the student’s worksheet. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results reveal that there was a lack of compulsory curriculum and competency, appropriate activities, and environmental interactions. Thus, it is recommended for teachers to take a well-planned curriculum; various activities connected to parental supports, realia, digital tools; and students’ personal traits in developing students’ worksheets. It is a reference to promote a better quality of Teaching English to Young Learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Blanded Learning Flex Model assisted by video on science learning outcomes of the fifth grade ecosystem material at SDN Kuwaluhan, Secang, Magelang. The research design used pre-experimental design with One Group Pretest Postest Design research model. This research was conducted in class V SDN Kuwaluhan, Secang District, Magelang Regency. The total sample of the study was taken from the population with a total sample size of 28 students using a total sampling technique. The method used in data collection in this study is the test method. The validity test carried out in this study is construct validity and empirical validity. The normality test in this study obtained a significance value of 0.05 ≥ 0.05 where the data was declared normal. The reliability test used Cronbach's alpha which resulted in a reliability index of 0.941. The results of the hypothesis test are shown by the Paired Samples T Test data on the learning outcomes of science learning with t value> t table, namely 12,755> 1,701 with a sig value. (2 tailed) 0.000 <0.05, which indicates that there is an effect of the Blanded Learning Flex Model learning assisted by video on the science learning outcomes of the ecosystem material. The results of this study prove that there is an effect of Learning Blanded.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Kooperatif Picture and Picture berbantuan media Alphabet Spinner terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Pre-Experimental Design, dengan model One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 21 siswa yang dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes unjuk kerja. Tes unjuk kerja ini digunakan untuk mengukur sejauh mana siswa dalam keterampilan membaca permulaan sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Adapun analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Paired Sampel T-Test dengan program SPSS Versi 25.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Kooperatif Picture and Picture berbantuan media Alphabet Spinner berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan. Hal tersebut didukung dengan adanya uji hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan uji Paired Sampel T- Test diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 (0,000<0,005). Hasil dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Picture and Picture berbantuan Media Alphabet Spinner berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining terhadap hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas V SD Kristen 2 Magelang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Pre-Experimental Design dengan model One Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design. Subjek penelitian dipilih secara Non Random Sampling model total sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Kristen 2 Magelang dengan jumlah 9 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes. Uji validitas instrumen tes dilakukan oleh expert judgment dengan rumus pearson dan dengan bantuan IMB SPSS 20. Uji Reliabilitas menggunakan cornbach’s alpha dengan bantuan IMB SPSS 20. Selain itu peneliti menggunakan uji tingkat kesukaran dan tingkat daya pembeda. Analisis data menggunakan teknik statistic non-parametic yaitu uji Wilcoxon Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perhitungan rata-rata nilai tes post-test dengan skor 79,00 yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan hasil rata-rata nilai tes pre-test dengan skor 50,11. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis Wilcoxon Test yang menunjukkan sebesar -2,887 dengan nilai signifikan 0,004 < 0,05 yang artinya ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the type of intelligence of PGSD students at the University of Muhammadiyah Magelang through the application of Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR), as well as to develop a Multiple Intelligences-based lecture design based on the results of Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR). This research design uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The research method used is a questionnaire and interviews. The research questionnaire is in the form of a Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR) test in which each question item is based on the classification of the theory of Multiple Intelligences. The classification is in the form of 8 theories of intelligence from Howard Gardner, namely, naturalist, interpersonal, intrapersonal, musical, visual, mathematical, linguistic, and kinesthetic. The interview method is used to confirm the results of the Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR) generated from the instruments used. The subject of the research was conducted on PGSD students at the University of Muhammadiyah Magelang. The results of this study, based on the Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR) questionnaire on the subject of PGSD students, showed that there were 3 dominant intelligence tendencies, namely, logical 16%, interpersonal 29%, and naturalist 20%. Lecture design is based on the Multiple Intelligences learning strategy, referring to logical, interpersonal, and naturalist characteristics. Logic refers to the ability to count, measure propositions and hypotheses, as well as number operations. Interpersonal refers to the ability to understand and interact with others effectively. And naturalists, related to the environment and natural sustainability. Through this study, it was concluded that, by designing a lecture based on the type of student intelligence, it could increase the effectiveness and enthusiasm of students in carrying out lectures.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Bamboo Dance Type Cooperative model with the help of Wayang media on science learning outcomes. The type of research used is experimental research with a one group pretest posttest design with 19 students selected by saturated sampling as the research subjects for fifth grade students of SD Negeri Balekerto. Data collection techniques in the form of test (pretest and posttest). The analysis used is the Wilcoxon test by comparing the posttest and posttest scores. This analysis is used to determine the effect of the cooperative model of the Bamboo Dance type assisted by the Wayang media on science learning outcomes. The results showed that the cooperative model of the Bamboo Dance type assisted by the Wayang media affected the science learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in the average pretest and posttest scores before and after being treated with the Bamboo Dance Cooperative Model with the help of Wayang media. The average pretest score before treatment was 42.05 while the post-test average after being treated was 79.42. The increase in science learning outcomes on the Human Digestive System material can be seen from the results of the Wilcoxon test which shows the probability of a significant value (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. This shows a significant change in mastery of concepts after treatment, so it can be concluded that the use of the Bamboo Dance Type Cooperative model with the help of Puppet Media has an effect on science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of Inside Outside Circle (IOC) model by using flashcards on students’ English vocabulary mastery. This research was done on the 3rd-grade students of one elementary school in Magelang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. This research used Pre-Experimental Design which type is One Group Pretest Posttest Design through one kind of treatment. The samples in this research were 3rd-grade students as many as 20 students. The data collection method was a multiple-choice test. The instrument test of this research was a validity test by experts (expert judgment), they are English lecturers of a private university Magelang and a 3rd-grade teacher of elementary school in Magelang Regency.  The results of this research pointed out that there was a positive effect of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) model by using flashcards on students’ English vocabulary mastery. The effect was shown by pre-test and post-test results with means 49 and 80. The result of the Wilcoxon test showed that the significance of Z value was -3,725 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,050.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of instilling the character value of students' love of reading and the role of school parties, namely principals, teachers, and librarians in instilling the character value of reading, as well as to find out what obstacles are faced in instilling the character value of students' love of reading at SD Negeri Magelang 4 and the solutions provided. The type of research used is qualitative case study research with data collection methods through interviews, observation, and documentation. There are two sources of data in this study including primary data sources, namely principals, teachers, librarians, and students, while secondary data sources are documentation when research is carried out at school. This research uses data triangulation as a data validity test, including source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. Furthermore, this research uses data analysis techniques in the form of data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results showed that 1) schools still need additional facilities to support the continuity of the process of instilling the character value of reading well, 2) principals, teachers, and librarians have played a good role in the process of instilling the character value of reading fond of students such as guiding, directing, and enforcing rules so that students have a character fond of reading, 3) There are still obstacles faced such as students who claim to be lazy to read and there are also several books in the library that can be said to be slightly damaged. However, in addition to obstacles, of course, there are also solutions provided such as adding book collections tailored to the age and reading interests of students at school.
