Abstract

BACKGROUNDCadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal that is classified as a human carcinogen (group IA), one of the cancers that it can cause being prostate cancer. The development of prostate cancer on a molecular basis involves oncogenes such as insuline-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). Prostate cancer can be detected in the laboratory through the examination of prostate specific antigen (PSA). The present study aimed to determine the relationship of Cd levels with levels of PSA and IGF-1 in exposed and unexposed workers.METHODSThe study design was cross sectional. The subjects of the studycame from two groups of workers, ie. the group of Cd exposed workers who were welding shop workers and the group of unexposed workers who were office workers. The minimum samplesize was 85 people. The independent variable was blood Cd level. The dependent variables were PSA and IGF-1 levels. Blood Cd levels were measured by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), while PSA and IGF-1 were measured using ELISA. Data analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney test and the Spearman correlation test.RESULTSMean blood Cd level in the exposed workers was 6.5 mg/L and in the unexposed workers 2.15 mg/L. There was a relationship between blood Cd and PSA levels (p<0.05) and between blood Cd levels and IGF-1 (p <0.05).CONCLUSIONSThere was a relationship of blood Cd with PSA and IGF-1 levels.among workers. PSA and IGF-1 could be a biochemical markers of disease control in cadmium exposed workers.

Abstract

BACKGROUNDBreast cancer in Indonesia ranks second as the most common cancer found in women after cervical cancer. Tumor cells express increased levels of antioxidant proteins to detoxify reactive oxygen species (ROS). Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is known to play a key role in the detoxification and reduction of ROS. Trace elements have nutritional benefits as essential cofactors for physiologic processes, but some can be toxic to humans. Accumulated evidence suggests that deficiency or excess of certain trace elements may be associated with risk of chronic diseases including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer. The aim of this research was to determine the correlation of the trace elements iron and zinc with the oxidative stress level of GST activity in women with breast cancer.METHODSAn observational analytic study with cross sectional design was conducted involving 35 breast cancer women. Research subjects were women with breast cancer diagnosed by biopsy. Measurements of iron and zinc levels were performed using atomic absorption spectrometry, GST activity was measured using spectrophotometry. Data analysis was done with the Pearson correlation test.RESULTSThe results showed that there was a significant relationship of serum iron with GST (r=-0.487; p<0.05) and serum zinc with GST (r=-0.409; p<0.01).CONCLUSIONOur study demonstrated that the higher zinc and iron level, the lower GST level among breast cancer women. It is recommended to use zinc, iron and GST levels as biomarkers for breast cancer and its progression.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penggunaan Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) terhadap mutu pelayanan dan kepuasan pelanggan di Instalasi Farmasi RS Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan survei dengan kuisioner yang diberikan kepada pasien rawat jalan RS Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan non-probability consecutive sampling, yaitu sampel diambil dari responden yang memenuhi kriteria pemilihan sampel hingga jumlah subjek terpenuhi yaitu 110 responden. Validitas data menggunakan korelasi product moment. Teknik analisis data menggunakan path analysis dengan dibantu software SPSS 20. Hasil analisis data penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa penggunaan Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) tidak berpengaruh terhadap waktu tunggu antrian pengambilan obat, kesalahan pemberian obat, dan komunikasi apoteker pasien. Penggunaan Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE), waktu tunggu antrian pengambilan obat, komunikasi apoteker, dan mutu pelayanan berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan pelanggan dengan arah positif.  Kesalahan pemberian obat tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan pelanggan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Computer Physician Order Entry (CPOE) tidak berpengaruh terhadap mutu pelayanan di Instalasi Farmasi RS Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto, namun berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan pelanggan di Instalasi Farmasi S Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto.

Abstract

Background: β-thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterized by reduced or no synthesis of β globin chain, resulting in chronic anemia, so blood transfusion is required as curative therapy. Repeated blood transfusions lead to iron overload that can lead to multiple organ damage, including pancreatic organs.Objective: This study aimed to describe HbA1c and insulin levels of β-thalassemia patients. The study also tested whether there was a significant difference in insulin and HbA1c levels among patients with different β-thalassemia categories. Method: This research was an analytic observational study. The samples were taken by total sampling and involved 30 patients, and the examination was carried out using the patient's blood plasma.Result: The study found that samples had low HbA1c levels. There was no significant mean difference (p>0.05) between insulin and HbA1c in the mild, moderate, and severe clinical degree groups. There was no significant difference in average (p>0.05) insulin and HbA1c in the thalassemia sufferers with allele β+ and β0 types.Conclusion: There was a decrease in insulin and HbA1c in patients with β-thalassemia, which may be caused by damage pancreatic organ damage.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Per tanggal 21 November 2020, di Kabupaten Banyumas, tercatat 1.341 kasus dan 43 kasus kematian. Di Kec. Purwokerto Barat tercatat 64 kasus dan di Rejasari tercatat 13 kasus dengan kematian 2 orang. Kelurahan Rejasari berada di Kecamatan Purwokerto Barat, terdiri dari 9 RW dan RW 3 merupakan kantong masyarakat tidak mampu yaitu 263 KK dari 391 KK termasuk keluarga pra-sejahtera. Upaya memutus rantai penularan covid-19 melalui 3M. Pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat sangat mempengaruhi kepatuhan terhadap upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian covid-19. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahun dan praktik pencegahan dan penangulangan covid-19. Metode dengan penyuluhan, simulasi dan praktik menggunakan masker dan cuci tangan menggunakan hand sanitizer yang benar sesuai ketentuan. Hasil uji Firedman dan Post Hoc Wilcoxon didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum penyuluhan dibandingkan setelah penyuluhan, evaluasi 1 dan 2 serta berbeda signifikan secara statistik (p=0,005, p=0,032 dan p=0,043). Untuk sikap tidak berbeda signifikan secara statistik sebelum penyuluhan dengan setelah penyuluhan, evaluasi 1 dan 2 (p=0,393) dengan uji Friedman. Implikasinya bahwa penyuluhan meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta tentang covid-19. Simpulan bahwa masyarakat perlu diberi penyuluhan dan role model disiplin protokol kesehatan.

Abstract

Judul : Hubungan Pencemaran Udara dengan Kadar Protein Inflamasi Makrofag-2 pada Pekerja Informal PurwokertoLatar belakang: Tingkat polusi udara di Indonesia telah meningkat secara signifikan dalam dekade terakhir, yang sejalan dengan peningkatan insidensi gangguan pada sistem pernapasan, termasuk Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik (PPOK). Deteksi dini gangguan sistem pernapasan akibat polusi udara menggunakan penanda biologis berpotensi mencegah keparahan penyakit meskipun masih diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara pajanan polutan udara dengan kadar Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-2 (MIP-2) pada pekerja sektor informal di Purwokerto, Kabupaten Banyumas, Provinsi Jawa Tengah.Metode: Studi belah lintang dilakukan pada 35 pekerja parkir luar ruang dan 35 pekerja informal dalam ruang di Purwokerto pada Maret 2021. Kadar particulate matter (PM) diukur menggunakan particle counter sebagai parameter tingkat polusi udara. Kadar. MIP-2 diukur dari sampel darah partisipan dengan menggunakan metode ELISA. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Mann-Whitney, Korelasi Spearman, dan analisis multivariat dengan Generalized Linear Model untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antara paparan polutan udara dan kadar MIP-2.Hasil: Kadar polutan udara di luar ruangan lebih tinggi dibandingkan di dalam ruangan (p=0,00), dan kadar MIP-2 lebih tinggi pada pekerja di luar ruangan dibandingkan pekerja di dalam ruangan (p=0,00). Kadar debu tidak berkorelasi dengan kadar MIP-2, baik pada pekerja di dalam ruangan (r=0,03; p=0,85), pekerja di luar ruangan (r=-0,31; p=0,07), maupun secara keseluruhan (r=0,20; p=0,09). Lama kerja total dan per hari juga tidak memiliki korelasi dengan kadar MIP-2 pada pekerja. Analisis multivariat menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan antara durasi paparan dan kadar MIP-2 setelah dikendalikan oleh variabel usia dan kadar polusi udara.Simpulan: Terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kadar debu dan kadar MIP-2 di lokasi luar ruangan dibandingkan dengan dalam ruangan. Pajanan polutan udara, baik dari segi tingkat maupun durasi, secara konsisten tidak berkorelasi dengan kadar MIP-2 pada pekerja. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk memahami interaksi antara paparan polutan udara, kadar MIP-2, dan kondisi klinis gangguan pernapasan yang disebabkan oleh polusi udara. ABSTRACTBackground: Air pollution level has significantly increased in Indonesia followed by the increase in respirational disorders such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in the last decade. Early detection of air pollution-related respiratory disorders using biological markers potentially reduces the severity of these diseases, but further studies are still required. This research seeks to evaluate the relationship between exposure to air pollutants and Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-2 (MIP-2) levels among informal workers in Purwokerto, Banyumas District, Central Java Province. Method:  A cross-sectional study was carried out in March 2021 involving 35 informal outdoor workers and 35 indoor workers in Purwokerto. Particulate matter (PM) concentration was assessed using a particle counter, serving as an indicator of air pollution level. MIP-2 serum level was measured from participants' blood samples using the ELISA method. The Mann-Whitney test, Spearman correlation test, and multivariate analysis using the Generalized Linear Model were employed to assess the relationship between air pollutant exposure and MIP-2 serum levels.Result: The levels of air pollution (p=0.00) and MIP-2 serum (p=0.00) were significantly elevated in outdoor environments compared to indoor environment.  Exposure to air pollutants did not show a significant correlation with MIP-2 serum levels in outdoor workers (r=-0.31; p=0.07), indoor workers (r=0.03; p=0.85), or overall (r=0.20; p=0.09). The overall and daily working duration did not show a correlation with the MIP-2 serum levels in the workers. Multivariate analysis indicated that there was no association between the duration of exposure and MIP-2 levels when adjusted for age and air pollution level.Conclusions:  There were notable differences in air pollutant levels and MIP-2 serum levels between indoor and outdoor environments. Air pollutant exposure, both in duration and level, consistently did not correlate with the MIP-2 serum level of workers. Further studies are required to understand the interactions among air pollutant exposure, MIP-2 serum level, and clinical conditions of air pollution-related respiratory disorders.

Abstract

Desa Tambaksari Kidul Kecamatan Kembaran Kabupaten Banyumas merupakan desa dengan sebagian besar penduduknya adalah adalah petani, kelompok pekerja yang rentan terhadap penyakit akibat kerja dan kecelakaan kerja akibat pekerjaan dan paparan lingkungan kerja. Petani adalah kelompok pekerja informal yang belum memiliki jaminan kesehatan kerja. Untuk itu diperlukan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja (K3) petani, agar perilaku salah dalam bekerja dapat dicegah secara mandiri. Pendekatan dilakukan pada kader tani sebagai agen perubahan pada kelompok tani. Kader tani berperan sebagai role model dan sekaligus sebagai penyuluh melalui kegiatan pelatihan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyusunan modul dan media penyuluhan melalui focus group discussion, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pelatihan dilakukan pada 30 orang petani perwakilan secara proporsional berdasarkan jumlah anggota dari 4 kelompok tani. Materi pelatihan meliputi kesehatan kerja, kecelakaan kerja dan pertolongan pertama, dan public speaking. Metode pelatihan dengan paran, diskusi dan role play. Pemateri adalah tenaga ahli K3 dari FK Unsoed, tenaga penyuluh pertanian dari Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Banyumas dan pakar komunikasi public. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan untuk menilai proses dan output kegiatan. Hasil evaluasi output didapatkan pengetahuan meningkat dari rata-rata 58 menjadi 63. Evaluasi proses didapatkan 57% peserta menilai materi sangat baik, waktu 43% sangat sesuai, penyampaian 57% sangat menarik. Pelatihan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kader untuk melakukan penyuluhan pada anggota kelompok tani.

Abstract

Farmers, as an informal work group, are at high risk of occupational diseases, including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). This study analyzes the relationship between work duration and suspected CTS incidence among farmers in Linggasari Village, Kembaran District, Banyumas Regency.An observational study was conducted on 72 farmers using interview methods, physical examinations, and CTS provocation tests. Data were analyzed bivariately using Chi-Square statistical testing. Of 72 respondents, 26 (36.11%) were suspected of having CTS, with 16 (61.54%) having work duration exceeding 52,320 hours. Among 46 respondents not suspected of CTS, 13 (28.26%) had work duration less than 52,230 hours. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.006 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between work duration and suspected CTS incidence. A statistically significant correlation exists between work duration and suspected CTS among farmers.
