Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The devotion aimed to optimize the use of feed in form of complete forage (CF) through Direct-Fed Microbials (DFM) supplementation, providing knowledge to the community, especially breeders  regarding good feed processing management, as well as providing the understanding to the community at Koperasi Produksi Ternak Maju Sejahtera to improve the potential quality of agricultural waste as feed in beef cattle fattening business. The activity method is carried out in a monologue, practice and evaluation by using descriptive questionnaires. The activity begins  with a presentation of material on ration formulation by utilizing the potential of local feed ingredients, the benefits of DFM, type of DFM microorganisms, the dosage of adding DFM and the way to combine DFM in feed. The community service results showed that breeders are very enthusiastic for the outreach of material provided. This also proven by the active role of participants, especially breeders, inthe question and answer session regarding how to use DFM in feed to improve livestock performance. In addition, regression analysis performed that two factors are respond agree with the average of 44 to 49.19% to respondentthe ability of farmers in using the product. Then, after the assistance of participant in processing the feed hi-technology by providing solid and liquid DFM, the regression analysis is also showed the radiness and desires of breeders with the highest score is about 38.33% to apply the DFM in order to increase their livestock performance. To sum up, after using the products, it has increased the average daily gain (ADG) and lowering the methane production in KPTMS.

Abstract

Successful community economic development has a positive influence on increasing people's income and purchasing power. One very strategic business to increase the income of farmers in Batangtoru sub-district, South Tapanuli is the goat meat aqiqah business. The obstacle encountered during the field survey of livestock business partners was that the aqiqah business process was not yet optimal in terms of nutritional management of animal feed and marketing of aqiqah business products. This is due to the lack of knowledge of breeders in proper production and marketing. The aim to be achieved in this service activity is to increase the knowledge of breeders in implementing and compiling quality goat rations from cheap and easily available ingredients and to help increase the income and welfare of the breeders themselves. This service activity began with a focus group discussion (FGD) system approach, Participal Rural Appraisal (PRA) and continued with counseling, piloting and direct application by breeders. The participation and motivation of groups of farmer-breeders in taking part in a series of community service activities is very high. Because so far there has never been any training related to technical aspects and nutritional management from the application of omega 3.6 sources together with Moringa oleifera supplemented with vitamin E for goat meat from the Aqiqah Jaya Brothers Batangtoru business, South Tapanuli.

Abstract

Livestock sector is inseparable from the process of downstreaming animal raw product become the functional product or industrial needs (such as the processing of cosmetics based on dairy sources). One of the objectives of processing raw materials for livestock products is to increase efficiency and product quality as the functional food. The strategy that can be used to increase the productivity of livestock farmer groups (LFG) is to support programs that are carried out through the utilization of SAINTECH. This will also encourage the economic growth of the group members inline with improving their standard of living. The group focuses for implementation of functional food SAINTECH is a group of livestock farmers who are located among the Arse District, South Tapanuli Regency. The ultimate goal of this service is that the Arse LFG can process salted eggs based on typical spice plant extracts as functional dairy food, able to carry out the marketing system, and will increase thes incomes after using the SAINTECH product. The devotion applied the Consuling method (approaching, outreachment, and mentoring stages), monitoring and evaluating the results. Results describe that the interest of members in utilizing SAINTECH is approximately 82.17% (VERY GOOD), overall consumers are 3.40 (very receptive to the product) and income has increased based on business analysis. Therefore, it was concluded that the assistance of the Arse LFG through the application of SAINTECH in animal food processing showed an increase in quality based on observational indicators.

Abstract

This activity is a part of Creative Innovation programs for Vocational Partners which aims to increase the knowledge and skills of Satya Budi Farm partners in utilizing local feed ingredients and Direct Fed Microbials (DFM). Apart from that, this activity aims to increase Satya Budi Farm's income through the sale of cattle and feed. Descriptive and quantitative approaches are used in analyzing Satya Budi Farm's profits. The series of activities in this program are complete feed (CF) formulation training by prioritizing local feed ingredients, DFM training and production to increase feed efficiency, Business Analysis Calculation Method. The results of this activity show that Satya Budi Farm's profit for the 3 months before the program started was IDR. 2,006,644.8/head/month while the profit after the program runs is IDR. 2,712,327.4/head/month. So, there is an increase in profit per head per month of 35.17%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan suatu kegiatan yang dilaksanakan sebagai suatu wujud kepedulian pengusul terhadap para peternak di Desa Labuhan Ratu IX, Kecamatan Labuhan Ratu, Kabupaten Lampung Timur, Lampung. Berdasarkan analisis situasi di Labuhan Ratu, terungkap permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para petemak yaitu kurangnya hijauan pakan temak saat musim kemarau, limbah pertanian yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dan daya simpan hijauan yang tidak lama. Pengabdian yang dilaksanakan adalah dengan memberikan transfer ilmu dari pihak Jurusan Peternakan Politeknik Negeri Lampung melalui program teknik pembuatan pakan dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian yang ada di Desa Labuhan Ratu IX pada bulan Juni-Juli 2024. Teknik pembuatan silase dipilih dengan memperhatikan kemudahan saat tranfer dan kemudahan dalam mendapatkan bahan baku yang digunakan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini masyarakat menjadi paham teknik yang bisa digunakan untuk memanfaatkan limbah pertanian yang ada disekitarnya terutama pada ternak ruminansia.

Abstract

Dalam hubungannya terhadap petani aren, kelembagaan non formal ini ada yang bisa didekati dari aspek bagaimana sesama petani aren berinteraksi melalui komunikasi, berbagi informasi serta yang berkaitan dengan evaluasi secara faktor internal dan eksternal kelembagaan agroindustri aren di Tapanuli Selatan.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai matrik secara internal dan eksternak faktor yang dievaluasi dari responden. Metode penelitian ini teknik Purposive Sampling  yang digunakan, ditemukan responden yaitu petani aren sebanyak 112 orang pada berbagai desa di empat kecamatan. Variabel penelitian dilakukan secara matrik analisa Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) dan External Factor Evaluation (EFE). Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh nilai tertimbang sebesar 2.59 pada analisis matriks IFE dan analisis matriks EFE yang telah dilakukan diperoleh nilai tertimbang sebesar 2.47.

Abstract

Potensi pengembangan UMKM pada destinasi wisata harus didorong oleh sebuah kebijakan Pemerintah daerah dalam melakukan pembinaan rutin kepada pelaku UMKM yang didominasi oleh masyarakat lokal. Salah satu strategi dalam pengembangan UMKM adalah dengan melakukan pelibatan langsung masyarakat lokal (masyarakat tempatan pada destinasi wisata) yang berhubungan dengan hasil pengembangan UMKM langsung yang akan mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan dari masyarakat lokal di Kecamatan Pandan Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui seberapa besar pengembangan UMKM pada destinasi wisata Kecamatan Pandan. Metode penelitian ini terdiri dari pelaku usaha UMKM dan wisatawan. Jumlah responden sebanyak 140 orang, yang terdiri dari 60 pelaku usaha dan 80 wisatawan. Teknik pengambilan sampel/respon dengan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Variabel penelitian memakai analisis Willing To Pay (WTA) dan SWOT. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan Willing To Pay (WTA) sebesar Rp.1.545.220.457.87. Kesimpulan berdasarkan analisis SWOT dan WTA melakukan penciptaan dan penambahan UMKM di lokus kajian.

Abstract

The devotion aims to increase the capability of the farmers at Berkah Mandiri Farm regarding feed supply technology by optimizing the availability of agro-industrial waste by products. The livestock business managed by the group focuses on small ruminant commodities that is Goats and Sheep. Community service are carried out through an approach method (Consuling) and active discussion (Forum Group Discussion) with the head of the livestock business manager. Informations were obtained in the devotion is also descriptively analyzed by utilizing various secondary data obtained at service locations. The location for the activity is Pejambon Village, Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran Regency. The results of FGD show that the level of knowledge for breeders is relatively high in livestock rearing management and relatively low in terms of feed science and technology, especially through the use of agro-industrial waste. Based on the activities carried out, it can be concluded that Berkah Mandiri Farm really needs assistance efforts in the field related to various waste processing science and technology in order to increase the availability of alternative feed sources and increase the productivity of small ruminant livestock.

Abstract

Kelurahan/Desa Pargarutan Jae merupakan salah satu desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Angkola Timur, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan. Beternak kambing merupakan salah satu jenis usaha yang banyak dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Pargarutan Jae. Namun masyarakat Desa Pargarutan Jae masih sangat minim dalam mengelola pakan dan hasil ternak kambing seperti susu. Pakan merupakan salah satu hal yang sangat penting dalam budidaya ternak kambing, pengetahuan teknologi pengolahan pakan bermanfaat untuk memperpanjang daya simpan pakan serta menambah nilai gizi pakan. Potensi ekonomi susu kambing cukup besar, namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh masyaraka di Desa Pargarutan Jae, Kecamatan Angkola Timur, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan metode penyuluhan teknologi pengolahan pakan dan hasil ternak kambing yaitu susu dapat dimanfaatkan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis, dan potensi dari pakan dan susu kambing yang berada di Desa Pargarutan Jae. Dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan minat masyarakat untuk menerapkan teknologi pengolahan pakan serta mengolah susu kambing menjadi dodol susu, permen susu sebagai produk inovatif dapat dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat serta menjadi sumber mata pencaharian bagi masyarakat setempat.
