Abstract

Management of post mining land become serious concern for government in current time. Post miningarea that located in Ngablak village, Cluwak districts of Pati is one of post mining areas that did notmanaged and creates problems to civilian and village government, for example are safety andenvironment problems. Safety of environment disturbed because of mining activities that finished andcreated unstable slope (potentially landslide) caused by land dredging. To solve this problems, government need to make some research about stability of slope and studies about method ofanalysis which can increase the safety factor of slope. Slope stability analysis can be done with Side6.0 software which needs laboratory result data of soil mechanics. Methods that can increase slope’ssafety factor can be installation of retaining wall and cut and fill method that make the slope becometerraces. Efficiency of method that will be selected, can be tested by using Slide 6.0 software.Installation of retaining wall could increase the safety factor’s value become 1.103, this valuerepresents that the slope is still potentially to be landslide. However, cut and fill can increases safetyfactor’s value become 1.330, that representing slope condition is stable and safe.

Abstract

Mining activities has become increasingly widespread in recent years, especially people’s mining, thatjust concerned about the result and not paying attention to the environmental factors. This is causedthe post mining area’s destruction and environmental degradation potential. For this reason, the slopesafety factor enhancement analysis on the post mining area in Semaya Village, Randudongkal Sub-District, Pemalang Regency is needed. Slope stability analysis using Slide 6.0 software to identify thecondition of post mining area from the results of undisturbed sample (UDS) laboratory data.Laboratory testing includes several aspects including water content, weight, specific gravity, grain size, atteberg limit test, and direct shear test. The value of the safety factor is 1,441, the value is in the safecategory because it passes the minimum value limit of the safety factor which is 1.25, this result isobtained from the terracing modeling.

Abstract

The land subsidence occurring in the coastal of Semarang City and Demak Regency is one of the geological disaster issues that is quite interesting to discuss. With the subsidence rate ranging from 10 cm/year and the proof on the surface can be observed through the naked-eye, causing the local government to look at this problem seriously enough to know the main problems. Referring to some research, a strong suspicion arises as an influencing factor, namely over-exploitation of groundwater that high enough to overdo the coastal area which causes the aquifer to be depleted underneath and triggers aquifer compaction, making the layer become unstable and triggers land subsidence at surface. The assumptions made in Semarang City are not in line with what happened in the coastal area of Demak Regency, because the area does not over-exploited, but its territory now submerged by seawater. In research carried-out using a methodology that includes literature study, analysis of remote sensing imagery data, and regional geological approaches. Several literature studies found indicate that there are other factors that trigger land subsidence with addition to groundwater problem, namely the existence of subsurface geological structures where the appearance on surface is not visible, with intersecting directions. The distribution of areas subject to the structure based on results of the remote sensing analysis includes areas where intensive land subsidence occurred on one side and areas not affected on the other. The movement of these subsurface structures is thought to trigger an increase or decrease in subsurface rock blocks and cause quaternary alluvium deposits above become unstable based on the geological approach. Some of these conditions triggered the emergence of new assumptions besides factors from groundwater extraction in the study area.
