Abstract

Manual watering of chili seedlings requires considerable time and effort and is often inconsistent in the amount of water provided, which can affect plant growth. This study aims to design and implement a prototype of a chili seedling watering system based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller that can operate automatically and manually. The research method used is a design and development method, which includes observation, system design, device assembly, programming, and system testing. The system uses a soil moisture sensor as the main controller, a DHT11 sensor to monitor environmental temperature, a relay to control the water pump, a toggle switch for manual operation, and a 16x2 LCD to display soil moisture, temperature, and pump status in real time. The test results show that in automatic mode, the pump activates when the soil moisture is below the threshold of 56% and stops when the moisture reaches 60%. In manual mode, the pump can be controlled directly using the toggle switch, while the LCD successfully displays all system parameters properly. The contribution of this study is the development of a simple and easy-to-use chili seedling watering prototype that helps maintain soil moisture stability and reduces dependence on manual watering

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah merupakan permasalahan lingkungan dan masyarakat yang cukup signifikan ditandai dengan volume timbunan yang terus meningkat dan terbatasnya sarana pembuangan akhir yang memenuhi standar teknis. Pendekatan konvensional ”kumpul-angkut-buang” terbukti sangat tidak efektif dan menimbulkan dampak negatif, serta kesadraan masyarakat tentang bagaimana pengelolaan sampah yang efektif dan bisa bernilai ekonomi masih kurang.  Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh dosen dari Fakultas Teknik Hamzanwadi dan UMKM Bank Sampah Mandiri Sandubaya sebagai pihak mitra diharapkan bisa menambah pengetahuan serta kesadaran masyarakat tentang bahaya sampah plastik, memahami cara mengelola dan memilah sampah anorganik untuk kemudian disetor ke Bank sampah Mandiri agar sampah bisa menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai ekonomis. Metode pendekatan yang akan dilakukan berdasarkan kesepakatan dengan pihak mitra adalah konsep circular economy, konsep ini menawarkan model yang menutup siklus material, mengurangi tekanan terhadap TPA, serta mendorong terciptanya nilai ekonomi baru dari sampah. Target luaran yang diharapkan adalah masyarakat teredukasi untuk melakukan pemilahan sampah dan menyetor sampah ke Bank Sampah Mandiri, sehingga tercipta lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat.

Abstract

The National Health Insurance organizer managed by BPJS Kesehatan plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable and quality healthcare services for all Indonesian citizens. The increasing number of BPJS participants encourages healthcare facilities to implement more efficient data-driven management. Fakhira Clinic in East Lombok still faces challenges in managing treatment rooms and formulating service strategies due to suboptimal use of data analysis, causing decisions to often be made reactively.This study aims to apply the K-Means clustering algorithm to group BPJS patient rooms. The K-Means algorithm is used to cluster BPJS patients based on their characteristics and service needs, such as gender, age, type of illness, visit frequency, duration of treatment, and payment method. Analysis of 500 BPJS patient data resulted in three main clusters: 217 patients with light treatment patterns, 158 patients with moderate care needs, and 125 patients with intensive care requirements. Each cluster shows different tendencies regarding age, length of hospital stay, and diagnosis. This information can be utilized as a basis for arranging treatment rooms, accelerating service processes, and formulating more effective and targeted care strategies.
