Abstract

Pronunciation is an important component of language learning that must be well mastered in order to support the development of students' competence in language skills, particularly speaking skills. This descriptive research aims to evaluate the accuracy and comprehensibility of English pronunciation among tenth-grade IPS students consisting of 30 students at SMAN 1 Bayan in North Lombok. Qualitative methods were employed, using student voice recordings as primary data and relevant documents as secondary data. The data analysis technique in this study uses the concept of qualitative data analysis developed by Miles and Huberman in (1994), including data reduction, data display and conclusions drawing. The results showed that while some students demonstrated excellent proficiency in English pronunciation, others faced significant challenges in accurately articulating vowel and consonant sounds. These findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions to support struggling students and improve the pronunciation skills of all students. The research questions are focused on the accuracy and comprehensibility of English pronunciation among students in North Lombok. Through our evaluation, we found that the level of accuracy in common words varied among students, with some struggling to pronounce even basic words accurately.

Abstract

The Mover Teacher Program (MTP), released in 2021, is widely regarded as a crucial measure towards achieving substantial transformations in the field of education in Indonesia. The present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the MTP in Sumbawa Besar City. Through this study, we sought evidence of lessons learnt from the field. To conduct the study, researchers employed a modified version of Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. Three out of four postulates derived from the model were used to probe the phenomenon under investigation, i.e. (1) teachers’ reaction, (2) learning endeavor and (3) application of knowledge/skills gained. The fourth postulate regarding the assessment of students’ achievement was not included in the study as the MTP program just commenced in the research site. The study employed a qualitative research approach with a multiple-case design. Participants of this study were eight alumni of MTP teachers coming from four different schools. Data were collected through interviews, observations and study of related documents. The data collected were analyzed thematically through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. Results of the study show that participants of the study benefitted from participating in the MTP program although they underwent various route of transformational learning. Regardless of disorienting problem in the beginning of the program implementation, participants were able to maintain their new skills and knowledge to improve their own teaching performance and other teachers in the impacted schools. The participants experienced transformation of learning and behavioral change after participating in the long and exhausting MTP program.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri pariwisata di Kecamatan Sekotong, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, membuka peluang besar bagi peningkatan mutu pendidikan vokasi di SMK. Serta mengurangi tingkat penyumbang pengangguran dari tingkat SMK. Sebagai respons terhadap kebutuhan dunia kerja, SMK Negeri 2 Sekotong menginisiasi program Teaching Factory. guna menjembatani kesenjangan antara kompetensi siswa dengan tuntutan industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pelaksanaan Teaching Factory secara menyeluruh, mencakup sejauh mana program berjalan, dampaknya terhadap kompetensi siswa, serta hambatan yang dihadapi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixs method dengan metode studi kasus dengan model evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) serta teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan mitra industri, serta studi dokumentasi. Analisis dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan teknik reduksi data, penyajian naratif dan tabel, serta penarikan kesimpulan sistematis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan Teaching Factory cukup baik terutama dari aspek proses, seperti penyesuaian kurikulum berbasis proyek, peningkatan sarana praktik, dan kompetensi siswa dalam jasa layanan pariwisata. Program ini juga berdampak positif terhadap keterampilan praktis siswa dan citra sekolah. Namun demikian, masih ditemukan kendala seperti terbatasnya fasilitas, lemahnya kemitraan strategis, dan kurangnya sistem monitoring yang terstruktur. Secara keseluruhan, program Teaching Factory memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kualitas lulusan, menurunkan angka pengangguran, dan memperkuat hubungan sekolah dengan industri. Keberhasilan jangka panjang bergantung pada peningkatan manajemen, fasilitas, kemitraan, serta penguatan sistem evaluasi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penerapan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) memerlukan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang mampu mendorong perubahan, kolaborasi, dan peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Kepemimpinan transformasional dipandang relevan dalam mendukung keberhasilan implementasi MBS karena mampu memotivasi serta memberdayakan seluruh warga sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dalam implementasi Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah di SMP Negeri 8 Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi MBS di SMP Negeri 8 Mataram telah berjalan secara efektif melalui penerapan prinsip otonomi sekolah, partisipasi warga sekolah, transparansi, akuntabilitas, serta peningkatan mutu pembelajaran. Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terlihat melalui keteladanan, pemberian motivasi, stimulasi intelektual, dan perhatian individual kepada guru, staf, dan peserta didik sehingga berdampak pada peningkatan prestasi akademik maupun nonakademik. Namun demikian, masih terdapat beberapa hambatan, seperti keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, rendahnya kedisiplinan pelaporan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan kurang optimalnya koordinasi pemeliharaan sarana prasarana. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah berperan penting dalam mendukung keberhasilan implementasi Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah di SMP Negeri 8 Mataram.
