Abstract

Background: The degree of quality health is greatly influenced by existing health services. Thus, assessing the service quality during the COVID-19 pandemic is necessary. Objective: This study aimed to describe the quality of services in health service facilities in North Buton District during the pandemic. Method: A descriptive survey research was conducted in 2021. A total of 400 respondents were selected using accidental sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and narratives. Results: The quality of service (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) was sufficient. Changes in the quality of health services were more likely related to changes in service flow and operating hours. However, although the service quality was adequate, some respondents (8% to 12%) complained about unavailability of hand sanitizer in the waiting room, inadequate detailed information related to COVID-19, slow registration process, lack of medical personnel, and less friendly healthcare workers. Conclusion: This study may serve as input for health policymakers and hospital and public health center managers to improve health service quality.

Abstract

Background: The pathological condition known as Adhesive Capsulitis Shoulder (ACS) is characterised by the excessive production of fibrotic tissue, resulting in the rigidity of the capsule of the glenohumeral joint. These factors encompass age, gender, extended immobilisation of the shoulder region, tobacco use, and more variables. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the correlation between adults, older people, and smoking history in relation to the prevalence of adhesive capsulitis shoulder at the Orthopaedic Poly of Indonesia. Methods: The present investigation employs an observational analytical design, utilising a case-control methodology. The study examined the relationship between two independent variables: age (specifically adults and older people) and smoking history. The dependent variable under investigation was adhesive capsulitis in the shoulder. The purposive selection technique was employed to choose a sample consisting of 94 cases of ACS events and 94 controls who did not experience any ACS events. A statistical test known as the Odds Ratio (OR) was conducted to analyse the data. Results: The test results indicate that age (OR <1; OR = 0.178, 90% CI 0.092–0.346) and smoking history have a significant impact on the incidence of adhesive capsulitis shoulder at the Orthopaedic Poly of Indonesia. Additionally, both variables have a value (OR <1; OR = 0.501, 90% CI 0.294–0.793). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate a correlation between age (adults and older adults), smoking history, and the occurrence of adhesive capsulitis in the shoulder at Orthopaedic Poly Indonesia.

Abstract

The study explores the relationship between digital literacy, exposure to AI-generated deepfake videos, and the ability to identify deepfakes by Generation X in Indonesia who are currently between the ages of 43 and 58. It also analyzes the impact of deepfake identification capabilities on the cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of internet users. Through a survey involving 199 respondents taken from a total population of 42 million Generation X internet users in Indonesia, it applied a random sampling method. The sample size was determined by the Slovin formula with a confidence level of 90% and a margin of error of 7.1%. The descriptive analysis shows a moderate level of digital literacy and relatively low exposure to deepfakes. However, the ability to identify deepfakes was found to be low. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that digital literacy and exposure to deepfakes do not have a significant influence on the ability to identify deepfakes. Additionally, the ability to identify deepfakes does not significantly affect cognition, compassion, or behavior. While digital literacy is important, these findings reinforce the assumptions of Generation Theory and Media Dependency Theory. Additionally, it suggests that specific training on media manipulation technologies is needed to improve deepfake detection capabilities. This research implies that efforts to improve digital literacy should be expanded, including technical skills and critical thinking relevant to manipulative media such as deepfakes.
