Abstract

The Tempuran Dam is one of the oldest dams in Indonesia and is currently experiencing a lot of damage, which could potentially lead to dam failure such as a dam collapse. To reduce the impact of losses resulting from dam collapses, it is necessary to analyze flood inundation patterns in the context of disaster mitigation. The dam failure analysis was modeled using HEC-RAS software with failure conditions due to overtopping and due to piping. The input in this modeling is the PMF plan discharge which is generated using HEC-HMS modeling with the HSS SCS method. The data required for HEC-HMS modeling are raster maps, land use maps, soil type maps and Hersfield method PMP rainfall plans. From the analysis results, it was found that the PMF planned flood was 115.54 m3/sec. The area of the flood inundation due to the collapse of the Tempuran Dam, the bottom piping condition was 2.61 km2 and the depth of the flood varied between 0 m to 3 m, where the area most deeply affected by the inundation was Purwosari Village, Blora Kota District. From the mapping results, the areas affected by flood inundation due to the collapse of the Tempuran Dam are Tempuran Village, Sendangharjo Village, Ngadipurwo Village, Purwosari Village, Patalan Village and Tempurejo Village. Where the fastest flood travel time is 48 minutes to Tempuran Village and the longest flood travel time is 5.25 hours to Tempurejo Village.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the safety risk of the Gonggang Dam located in Magetan Regency, East Java, using traditional methods and the event tree method (Event Tree Analysis). The risk assessment is conducted by identifying potential hazards and failure modes, estimating the probability of failure, and evaluating the level of risk based on the analysis results. The results of the analysis show that the event tree method provides acceptable risk results, while the traditional method shows unacceptable risks. The priority of risk management at Gonggang Dam is focused on monitoring the dam body and inundation area to maintain safety and maximize the life of the dam. Recommendations were given to improve structural safety and regular monitoring.

Abstract

Infiltrasi air melalui tubuh serta fondasi bendungan merupakan penyebab utama keruntuhan struktur hidraulik dengan kontribusi global mencapai 43 persen. Studi ini meneliti karakteristik aliran air bawah tanah di Bendungan Karian selama fase pengisian awal waduk, mulai September 2023 hingga Mei 2025. Pendekatan penelitian mengombinasikan pengukuran debit secara langsung menggunakan ambang V-notch triangular weir dan analisis tekanan air pori melalui data vibrating wire piezometer. Proses seleksi data diterapkan untuk meniadakan pengaruh aliran permukaan akibat curah hujan. Hasilnya menunjukkan korelasi eksponensial tinggi (R = 0.9428) antara ketinggian muka air dengan debit keluar sistem drainase toe, mengikuti persamaan y = 0.1852x - 4.425. Debit v-notch meningkat dari 1.40 menjadi 8.04 liter/detik sepanjang periode pengamatan. Analisis spasial piezometer memperlihatkan variasi tekanan air di zona inti dengan koefisien korelasi 0.3817–0.9611 bergantung elevasi dan lokasi. Validasi silang antara pengukuran langsung dan estimasi gradien hidrolik menghasilkan R = 0.9184, menegaskan kesesuaian antarperangkat. Secara keseluruhan, kondisi hidraulik Bendungan Karian masih aman namun sistem drainase memerlukan optimalisasi serta pemantauan lanjutan hingga tercapai kestabilan aliran penuh.
