Abstract

The purpose of this study is to duscribe the factors of the low of social science learning outcomes History subject in V class in SDN Panancangan 4 Kota Serang. The materials of this study is descriptive qualitative methods, the Data collectid by observation, interviews, documentation, and student learning outcomes. Students who have low learning outcomes on average as much as 92% of students with the types of difficulties include: lack of student understanding in historical material, student lack of active in asking, then students' inability to remember material such as (mentioning names, years of administration and inheritance), and inappropriate learning strategies. The results of the study shows that generally of the low social studies learning outcomes classified into two factors that is internal and external factors, namely the factors found in students such as psychological factors in learning, motivation and concentration of learning. In addition, there are factors that exist outside of the student's self or external factors, such as the quality of parentid advisionary learning outside of school. Although the learning outcomes obtained by students are more dependent on the students themselves, it is hoped that the instructors will play a role in enhancing them, namely directing students to be able to prepare themselves physically and mentally, increase student learning concentration, give students motivation to learn, teach them strategies - learning strategies, how to be able to learn according to each style, study thoroughly, and get used to sharing with each other. Keywords: Low student learning outcomes, Material history, Social Studie

Abstract

Development of AIR-Based LKPD to Develop Students' Higher Level Thinking Skills. Teaching materials are an important component of learning activities. In fact, the existing teaching materials used by teachers still do not meet students' needs for higher level thinking. The aim of this research is to produce products and describe the effectiveness of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) based LKPD to improve high level thinking skills as teaching material for learning simple electrical circuits. This LKPD was developed in accordance with systematic and standard criteria for eligibility and testing the effectiveness of learning media. The research carried out is a type of development research using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation development model. The process for producing LKPD begins with a validation stage by experts. AIR-based LKPD was also tested in schools to measure the response of class VI students. The results of the research show that the final validation results from media experts are 85% with very feasible criteria, the assessment results by material experts are 94% with very feasible criteria, the assessment results by language experts are 98% with very feasible criteria, the assessment results by the sixth grade teacher at Cimuncang Cilik State Elementary School with a percentage of 95% and the results of the effectiveness test of 15 students, pretest with a percentage of 13.3% and posttest with a percentage of 86%, as well as from the results of the N-Gain calculation, the percentage was 68% with the criteria being quite effective. The student response was 85.6% with very effective criteria, so the AIR-based LKPD was declared valid and practical for use as a reference in the learning process.

Abstract

Sawi hijau (Brassica juncea [L.] Czern.) merupakan salah satu jenis sayuran yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi dan terkenal di Indonesia. Tanaman ini memiliki kandungan senyawa nutrisi, di antaranya kalori, protein, vitamin, dan mineral. Selain itu, sawi hijau memiliki manfaat bagi kesehatan, seperti menurunkan risiko penyakit kanker. Penggunaan fitohormon alami dari tumbuhan, seperti bawang merah, terbukti mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi pada berbagai jenis tanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak umbi bawang merah terhadap pertumbuhan sawi hijau serta menentukan konsentrasi ekstrak umbi bawang merah yang optimal meningkatkan pertumbuhan sawi hijau. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode eksperimental dengan desain penelitian berupa rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Taraf konsentrasi ekstrak umbi bawang merah yang digunakan terdiri dari 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, dan 40%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan di antara kelima kelompok perlakuan ekstrak umbi bawang merah terhadap berbagai parameter pertumbuhan sawi hijau. Ekstrak umbi bawang merah pada konsentrasi 40% mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman sawi hijau, seperti panjang daun, tinggi tanaman, lebar daun, dan bobot basah tanaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji perdebatan filosofis antara realisme dan antirealisme dalam konteks sains, dengan fokus pada pemahaman tentang realitas dan ilusi. Realisme dalam filsafat sains berpendapat bahwa teori-teori ilmiah memberikan deskripsi yang benar tentang dunia nyata, termasuk entitas yang tidak dapat diamati. Sebaliknya, antirealisme menolak klaim tersebut, menekankan bahwa teori-teori ilmiah hanyalah alat untuk mengorganisir pengalaman manusia tanpa harus mengacu pada keberadaan entitas yang tidak teramati. Melalui analisis literatur dan studi kasus dalam sejarah sains, artikel ini mengeksplorasi argumen utama kedua posisi tersebut dan dampaknya terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Ditemukan bahwa baik realisme maupun antirealisme memiliki implikasi signifikan dalam metode ilmiah, penafsiran data, dan kepercayaan terhadap hasil ilmiah. Penelitian ini juga membahas kemungkinan pendekatan hibrida yang dapat mengakomodasi elemen-elemen dari kedua posisi tersebut untuk mencapai pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang sifat realitas ilmiah.

Abstract

This study explores the development of philosophy from various perspectives, including historical, thematic, geographical, and methodological views. The historical approach traces the evolution of thought from classical to modern philosophers, while the thematic perspective examines key topics such as ethics, epistemology, and axiology. The geographical perspective compares philosophical traditions in different regions, such as the West and the East, and the methodological perspective highlights changes in philosophical research approaches and methods. The method used is a literature review with critical analysis of primary and secondary sources. The results of the study indicate that each perspective offers unique insights into the development of philosophy, reflecting the dynamics and complexity of this discipline. This study emphasizes the importance of a multidimensional approach in understanding the development of philosophy and its contributions to science and technology. The integration of Western and Islamic approaches is also examined, showing the potential for developing science that is ethical and spiritual. This research underscores that philosophy is a continually evolving discipline, always adapting to new contexts and challenges.

Abstract

Philosophy of science is a branch of philosophy that is related to other sciences and is part of science. Philosophy defines the existence of science and uses knowledge as a way of thinking and a way of communicating science. Science can be likened to an attempt to bridge the gap between philosophy and science, so that science does not underestimate philosophy and philosophy does not view science as having a deep meaning. The Relationship between Religion and Science from the History of Islamic and Western Philosophy. Science comes from human thought, religion comes from revelation. Philosophy approaches the truth through empirical investigation, while philosophy seeks the truth through investigation, experience, and research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan produk media papan pintar yang menampilkan diagram untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD pada pembelajaran IPA di SD Negeri Ujung Tebu III Ciomas Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima langkah: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara dengan guru kelas empat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Ujung Tebu III Ciomas Serang, dengan 16 siswa yang berpartisipasi sebagai sampel. Berdasarkan hasil temuan dan pembahasan, media papan pintar melalui serangkaian uji coba dan validasi oleh dua validator-ahli media dan ahli materi-dinilai layak dan efektif untuk digunakan. Media ini mendapat penilaian sangat baik (100%) dari ahli media, penilaian sangat baik (84%) dari ahli materi, dan penilaian sangat baik (92%, 80%, dan 84%) dari ketiga guru. Perhitungan menggunakan rumus N-gain untuk skor pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan nilai 0,77 (77,47%), dikategorikan tinggi dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SD. Evaluasi pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 38,75%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media smart board sebagai media pembelajaran layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pelajaran IPA, khususnya pada materi penggolongan hewan berdasarkan makanannya. Implikasi temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mengintegrasikan media papan pintar dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pendidikan sains.

Abstract

This research addresses the challenge of low critical thinking skills among Grade VI students, particularly in science education, specifically the solar system. The limited availability of suitable learning media exacerbates this issue. The study aims to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of KOTASU-based learning media in improving critical thinking skills in this domain. Employing the Research and Development method, the study garnered favorable evaluations from expert panels, with average scores of 4.4, 4.6, and 4.75 from media, material, and language experts, respectively. Student responses, totaling 93.1% in the "Very Valid" category, corroborate the media's efficacy. The N-Gain test results, averaging 0.75 in the "High" category, underscore the substantial improvement in critical thinking skills facilitated by KOTASU learning media. In conclusion, the findings indicate that KOTASU learning media is feasible and highly effective in enhancing students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Baduy indigenous plants have great potential as natural sources of bioactive compounds, yet scientific studies on their biological activities remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant, antibacterial activities, and total phenolic content of the leaves from four Baduy plant species: Gardenia jasminoides, Strobilanthes crispus, Ficus callosa, and Artocarpus camansi. The leaves were extracted with methanol, followed by fractionation using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Antioxidant activity was assessed using DPPH and ABTS assays, total phenolic content was determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu method, and antibacterial activity was tested against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli using the broth dilution method to determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC). The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction of A. camansi leaves exhibited the highest total phenolic content (23.53 mg GAE/g extract). This fraction demonstrated strong antioxidant activity in the ABTS assay (IC50 = 18.55 ppm) and moderate activity in the DPPH assay (IC50 = 50.67 ppm). Moreover, it showed strong antibacterial activity against S. aureus, B. subtilis, and P. aeruginosa. These findings indicate that A. camansi leaves possess promising potential as a natural source of antioxidant and antibacterial agents.
