Abstract

Indonesia's reliance on soybean imports due to inadequate domestic production, understanding the multifaceted influence of macroeconomic conditions on soybean imports, and analyzing the factors driving import decisions alongside the effectiveness of existing import policies in ensuring supply security and promoting domestic production. Data collection consists of secondary data obtained from several sources such as the Ministry of Trade (KEMENDAG), the World Bank and UN Comtrade. The data analysis method used are descriptive and panel data regression analysis with the Gravity model. The result of the level soybean import that the United States occupies the first position as the largest soybean exporting country to Indonesia. The share of US soybean exports is very large in Indonesia, reaching 72% of all soybean imports in Indonesia.The results of the panel data regression analysis show that the variable of import tariff, import price and import restriction dummy significantly affect with importing value of Indonesian soybean in the world trade. In addition, exchange rate and economic distance don’t significantly affect with importing value soybean. Implementing Indonesia's soybean policy is expected to help achieve soybean self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on soybean imports from soybean producing countries in the world. The Indonesian government has issued policies namely expanding land, providing superior seeds and technology. The domestic government needs to implement a protection policy by implementing an entry tariff policy. Abstract

This research aims to determine the consumer decision-making process in purchasing coffee at modern coffee shops and the level of consumer satisfaction and loyalty towards modern coffee shops in Medan Petisah District. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, CSI, IPA, and brand loyalty. Research results obtained: 1) In The process of purchasing Miel Coffee products, most consumers consider it important to drink coffee every day, then choose to drink coffee at Miel Coffee because of its attractive place and learn about Miel Coffee from friends with the initial consideration to visit due to the comfort of the place, then decide to buy spontaneously and feel satisfied after consuming coffee at Miel Coffee. 2) The level of consumer satisfaction with Miel Coffee's attributes is 82 percent, which means consumers are delighted with the service provided by Miel Coffee. Based on the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) results, the attributes that need to be maintained are those in quadrant II. 3) The results of consumer loyalty at Miel Coffee are pretty good. Miel Coffee consumers can be considered quite loyal because most of them have recommended that others buy from Miel Coffee.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze entrepreneurial characteristics, business success, and the influence of entrepreneurial characteristics on business success. The number of samples in this research was 38, using a purposive sampling method. The research results show that the average score level on the entrepreneurial characteristics indicator is 148.8, with a percentage of 78.2% (high category). Not only that, but business success also has an average score of 134.3 with a rate of 70.6% (high category), and there is a significant influence between Entrepreneurial Characteristics (KW) and Business Success (KU). The t-statistical value of Entrepreneurial Characteristics (KW) on Business Success (KU) is 28.476, more significant than the t-table 1.68. This means there is a substantial difference of 28.476 between the average of the two variables and the relationship between them. Apart from that, the resulting research p-value of 0.000 is smaller and much lower than the alpha value (0.05), which means it is significant and rejects H0. The suggestions in this research are for online fresh fruit and vegetable business actors to improve their management skills and strategies in running their businesses and further improve strategies in utilizing the technology used in promotions to attract customer attention. Buy and be better able to market their products inside and outside the city by becoming entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial characteristics have a significant influence on business success.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the internal and external factors that influence and determine strategies for developing sweet orange farming in Barung Kersap Village. The research uses qualitative SWOT analysis techniques. The results of the research show that there are 4 internal factors Strength, namely easy to obtain agricultural inputs, high quality sweet oranges, long experience of farmers, availability of capital, with 4 weaknesses namely low level of farmer education. , There is no recording of farming activities, Fruit management is less than optimal, Sweet orange production is low. There are 3 external factors Opportunities, namely the potential for land suitable for farming, the establishment of relationships with stakeholders, the support of farmer groups, with 3 Threats, namely the development of pests and plant diseases, the decline in purchasing power and the presence of unfavorable climate/weather. regular.Based on the SWOT analysis, the strategy for developing sweet orange farming in Barung Kersap Village can be carried out using a Turn Around strategy or a WO (Weakness and Opportunities). The strategy for developing sweet orange farming business can be done by a) Increasing sweet orange production by optimizing land use (W4, O1), b) Carrying out good and correct management of orange fruit by conducting learning with farmer groups (W3, O3), c) Carrying out recording farming activities to evaluate production results by utilizing support from farmer groups (W2, O3) and d) Establishing relationships with stakeholders to increase production (W4, O2)

Abstract

Coffee is one of the plantation commodities with high economic value among other plantation crops and plays an important role as a source of national foreign exchange. This study aims to determine the level of farmers’ perceptions toward Arabica coffee cultivation in Kutarayat Village, Naman Teran Subdistrict, Karo Regency. The research location was selected purposively based on specific considerations. A total of 35 farmers were selected as respondents. The research employed both primary and secondary data. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive quantitative method. To assess the level of farmers' perceptions of Arabica coffee cultivation, a Likert scale was used, in which the total score obtained was divided by the maximum possible score and multiplied by 100%. Farmers’ perceptions of Arabica coffee cultivation were categorized into three aspects: economic, technical, and social. The results showed that the level of farmers' perceptions of Arabica coffee cultivation was relatively high, particularly in terms of technical perception (88.57%), economic perception (77.90%), and social perception (68.57%), with an overall average score of 78.35%, categorized as Good.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the feasibility of a home industry processing asam gelugur into asam potong in Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency. Asam gelugur is a cooking ingredient that is first processed into asam Potong which is then used to add flavor to dishes, especially to add sourness to food. The business of processing asam gelugur into asam Potong in Biru-biru District is a mainstay of the community's economy so it needs to be developed. This study analyzes with a quantitative approach using primary data. The method used in this study is to use the Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C) and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C) formulas. This study concludes that the average income of asam gelugur processors reaches IDR 2,554,560 per month with a Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C) value of 2.11 and a Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C) value of 1.11 which states that the business is feasible to run, because it meets the requirements that the value of the Revenue Cost ratio (R/C) and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C) 1.

Abstract

This study aims to maintain the economic, social, and political stability of a country and ensure that high-quality food is available, accessible to all people and increased domestic production. The problem is focused on the Indonesian Government launching a National food barn development strategy to overcome the food crisis through the "Food estate" Program. In North Sumatra, food estates are the right solution to increasing food security. By having a horticultural area, one of which is potato plants. This study analyzes with a descriptive quantitative approach using primary and secondary data. This study concludes that the average income of potato farmers reaches IDR 52,047,133 per year with an R / C ratio of 4.72, which is profitable, so there is a need for a program development strategy using the SWOT method, with an emphasis on technological innovation and increased collaboration at the local community level and large companies.

Abstract

The management of orange farming in Nagari Taruang-Taruang Rao, Pasaman Regency, aims to increase production and farmer income. By increasing the production, the profit or income of farmers will be maximized. This study was conducted to analyze the income of sweet orange farming in Nagari Taruang-Taruang Rao, Pasaman Regency. This study was conducted as a quantitative research with an analysis form, and the subjects used as sources in this study were sweet orange farmers. The data analysis method uses the income and feasibility formula. Sweet orange farming is feasible to be cultivated in the research area because the R/C Ratio value obtained is greater than one (R/C Ratio 1). With a value of 5.88 1 and the B/C Ratio value obtained is greater than one (B/C Ratio 1). With a value of 5.17 1, it is said that sweet orange farming is feasible to be cultivated in Nagari Taruang-Taruang Rao, Pasaman Regency.

Abstract

Oil palm is a tropical plant that produces the main vegetable oil that is widely cultivated to meet the needs of the food, cosmetics, and energy industries. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of oil palm production and labor on the income of oil palm businesses in Bangun Purba Village using the multiple linear regression method and using 37 samples. The results of this study indicate that oil palm production has a very significant effect on farmers' income, with a t-value of 19.456 and a significance of 0.001, where the higher the production, the greater the income obtained. In addition, labor also contributes to increasing farmers' income, with a t-value of 3.040 and a significance of 0.001, although its effect is smaller than oil palm production. Overall, the results of the F test show that oil palm production and labor simultaneously have a significant effect on farmers' income, with a calculated F value of 25.123 and a significance of 0.001, so that optimizing these two factors is key to improving their welfare. This study concludes that palm oil production and labor have a significant effect on farmers' income, increasing both of which can improve their welfare.

Abstract

Potatoes are used as an alternative food ingredient to meet the food and nutritional needs of the community. Having high economic value, potatoes can be processed into various forms of processed food products that can be used as safe substitute food ingredients (Cahyadi et.al 2020). The purpose of this study was to determine the structure, behavior, and marketing performance of potatoes in Nagori Hutaraja. The research method used was qualitative descriptive. Sampling was carried out purposively. The samples in the study were potato farmers, collectors, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers. The data collected in this study were primary data and secondary data. the total number of population which is the result of qualitative or quantitative measurements or calculations regarding the characteristics whose properties are to be studied. The population in this study is all potato farmers in Nagori Hutaraja. The analysis method used in this study was analysis, market structure (market share, market concentration, and barriers to entry and exit of the market), market behavior analysis, and market performance analysis (farmer share and marketing margin)
