Abstract

This research aimed at discovering the staff’s lecturing styles at The Early Childhood Education Program, The School of Education, The State University of Jakarta based on four types: formal authority, personal model or demonstrator, fasilitator, dan delegator. The research conducted in September2011 through January 2012, employed descriptive qualitative method with the researcher acting as the instrument. Data were collected by observation, interview, and document study techniques to be validated in triangulation and member check. Data analysis used the procedures of data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusion. The findings indicate that the staff tend to practise facilitator lecturing style oriented on the students and the staff initate various activities involving the students to improve and develop their competence. Based on the research findings, the staff are recommended to improve their professional competence properly.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop the speaking ability of 5-6 years’ children at the Kindergarten of Islam Al-Fattah in Wanasari Village, Bekasi District by watching video. The research applied classroom action research within two cycles. Each cycles consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research included ten children of B group who have speaking ability problems. The data were collected using no-test instruments such as observation, interview, and document study. The data were analyzed employing qualitative and quantitative paradigm. The result of the research show that using video can improve the children speaking ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of academic self efficacy on math learning outcomes particularly in solving mixed word problems. The study was conducted at SDN Pinang Ranti 04 Pagi, East Jakarta, in January 2013. Employing ex-post facto method, the study selected 32 students of the third grade. The data were collected using questionnaires and descriptive test and analyzed by t-test for the hypothesis. The results indicate positive significant influence of academic self efficacy on the learning outcomes in math mixed word problems. The implications of this research is high academic self efficacy needs to have as it gives effect to the students’ academic success. The students can enhance their academic self efficacy by increasing self efficacy experiences, observations on the other people’s success. The teachers and parents can help the students to their academic self efficacy by providing encouragement. The students’ learning outcomes can be influenced by internal and eksternal factors.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu orangtua dalam membelajarkan anak-anak di rumah khususnya pengembangan kegiatan motorik halus anak usia 4-6 tahun. Pengembangan kegiatan motorik halus sangat penting karena anak-anak harus mencapai tugas-tugas perkembangan motorik pada usia tersebut seperti menggunting, memegang pensil, menggambar, menulis nama dan angka, berpakaian, menyikat gigi dan menyisir rambut. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan orangtua dan pembelajaran online seminggu sekali selama 3,5 jam dengan sample 3 lokasi TK di Kebon Baru, Rawamangun dan Kampung Bandan sebanyak 56 anak selama masa pandemic Agustus sd Desember 2020. Hasil pengabdian adalah orangtua mampu melatih motorik halus anak usia TK dengan berbagai kegiatan seperti menggambar, memegang pensil, menulis nama dan angka, berpakaian, menyikat gigi dan menyisir rambut. Selain itu, kemampuan motorik halus anak meningkat. Kesimpulan pengabdian adalah kegiatan penyuluhan dan pengembangan kegiatan ini sangat efektif dan efisien dalam meningkatkan keterampilan orangtua dan anak dalam pengembangan motorik halus anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan matematika pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TTKA Rawamangun Ceria, Jakarta Timur melalui kegiatan di pusat-pusat seni pada bulan Oktober-November 2010. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan melalui satu siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek adalah 6 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan rata-rata yaitu kuantitatif dan proporsi yang dipelajari harus meningkatkan 20%, dan kualitatif sebagai reduksi data, data display, dan verifikasi/kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan 35,52% pada siklus I, sehingga penelitian ini dihentikan pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa kegiatan di pusat-pusat seni bisa mengembangkan matematika pada anak-anak usia 5-6 tahun. Kata kunci: matematika, seni pusat, kegiatan, anak usia 5-6 tahun.

Abstract

Early childhood is a critical period for cognitive, social, and emotional development, making it essential to foster critical thinking and curiosity in educational settings. This study explores the implementation of inquiry-based science learning for children aged 5-6 years within the Merdeka Curriculum framework to enhance these key developmental skills. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study designed, implemented, and evaluated inquiry-based science modules. Data were collected through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, including observations, interviews, and pre- and post-tests. The findings revealed that inquiry-based learning significantly improved children’s critical thinking, curiosity, and understanding of scientific concepts, with pre-test scores improving from 46.29% to 80.57% in small group trials and from 48.38% to 80.76% in large group trials. While the approach increased student engagement and curiosity, teachers faced challenges in managing inquiry-based classrooms, indicating the need for further professional development. The study concludes that inquiry-based science learning aligns with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, promoting active learning and cognitive growth in early childhood education. Further support for teachers is recommended to ensure effective implementation and classroom management

Abstract

Literasi budaya merupakan kemampuan untuk memahami serta memaknai budaya. Literasi budaya membantu anak memahami warisan budaya mereka. Ini memperkuat rasa identitas dan kebanggaan terhadap budaya sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media video tutorial bermain musik tradisional Manggarai terhadap kemampuan literasi budaya anak. Penelitian ini mengacu pada jenis penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen Desain One Group Pre-test-Post-test. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen, observasi serta dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian yaitu 20 orang anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Bunga Mawar Santa Elisabeth. Analisis data melalui uji normalitas dan uji t paired sample t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor literasi budaya pre-test sebesar 30,25, sedangkan skor literasi budaya post-test sebesar 50,2. nilai p-value < 0,001  nilai signifikansi 0,05, (0,001< 0,005)  ditolak dan terima , sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa video tutorial bermain musik tradisional Manggarai memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi budaya anak usia 5-6 tahun.

Abstract

Perkembangan moral anak usia dini merupakan proses manusiawi yang dapat diamati melalui pemahaman konsep salah dan benar yang ditunjukkan melalui penalaran, perasaan, dan perilaku anak dalam kehidupan sehari-hari anak. Tuhuan dari penelitian ini untuk melihat proses pengenalan perilaku moral anak di suku Muna tentang tradisi Katoba. Jenis penelitian ini kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Model Spradley digunakan untuk analisis. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pengenalan perilaku moral tentang tradisi katoba menunjukkan perilaku moral ketuhanan, moral kemanusiaan, moral persatuan moral kerakyatan, dan moral keadilan sosial. Beberapa perilaku moral tersebut dihasilkan melalui adanya kontribusi dan pembiasaan dari orang tua. Selain itu, aturan budaya masyarakat suku Muna yang mewajibkan semua anak usia dini untuk dikenalkan dan menerapkan perilaku moral yang positif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari melalui tradisi katoba.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce and develop traditional Indonesian games for early childhood to kindergarten teachers in Germany and Indonesia. The games developed include Dhakon, Genteuk Bruek, Bakiak, Cenge-Cenge, and Kotak Karet. Through this program, teachers are trained on how to adapt traditional Indonesian games to the context of early childhood education, as well as how to utilize these games to support children's cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development. The activities are conducted using lectures, Q&A sessions, and hands-on practices involving teachers from both countries. In addition to enriching pedagogical approaches, this program also contributes to the preservation of local culture amidst globalization. The data produced in this community service program is derived from a comprehensive evaluation of the impact of traditional Indonesian games on early childhood education in Germany and Indonesia. The primary data sources include pre-test and post-test scores, observational data, and feedback collected through questionnaires and interviews. The pre-test and post-test scores provide quantitative evidence of the improvement in teachers' understanding of the educational value of traditional games. Observational data captures the engagement and active participation of teachers during workshops, while qualitative feedback from questionnaires and interviews highlights the perceived benefits and challenges of integrating traditional games into early childhood curricula. This data underscores the effectiveness of traditional games in enhancing cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development in young children, as well as promoting cross-cultural understanding and cultural preservation. This program not only fosters cross-cultural understanding but also encourages the use of creative, local wisdom-based teaching methods.
