Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of Krulick Rudnick Heuristic Strategy based on ethnomathematics on student geometric representation skill (GRS). The research conductes at Junior High School in Jakarta in Academic Year 2018/2019. This research was quasi-experimental method with randomized posttest only control group, which is involve 27 students in experimental class and 25 students in control class that choosen by cluster random sampling technique. The data collecting for GRS used by using the test. The result of research revealed that student’s GRS taught by Krulick Rudnick’s Heuristic strategy based on ethnomathematics is higher than those taught by expository strategy. That skills include visual, symbolic, and verbal indicators. Ethnomatematics involved include culture of bamboo fishtrap (bubu), transplantation of coral reefs, mangrove conservation, processed fish food, fishing activities (manyang), tourist resorts, historic building, and food served in traditional traditions (sea parties). The conclusion of this show that the use of Krulik Rudnick heuristic strategy based on etnomathematics is more effective in enhanching students’ GRS compared with an expository strategy. (η2=0,102).

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze mathematical anxiety, mathematical problem solving ability (MPSA) and student responses in Autograph software based on cognitive load theory. The research was conducted in one of the Madrasah Tsanawiyah in South Tangerang in the 2017/2018 academic year. The method is Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles. Data was collected using observation sheets, questionnaires, daily journals, and tests. The results of the study revealed that Autograph software based on cognitive load theory can reduce mathematical anxiety includes indicators: cognitive, emotional, and physiological. The research findings also revealed that there was an increase in the MPSA including indicators: understanding the problem, divising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. In addition, the positive response of students to Autograph software also increased from cycle I to cycle II. The conclusion of this research is that learning assisted by Autograph software based on cognitive load theory can reduce mathematical anxiety, where students with low mathematical anxiety tend to have higher MPSA and student responses to learning are more positive.

Abstract

 The ability to think creatively is a characteristic of 21st century learning. It takes learning innovation to accommodate increased creative thinking in learning materials. One alternative learning model that is thought to improve creative thinking is the Generative Multi-Representation Learning (GMRL) model. This study aims to analyze the effect of the GMRL model on mathematical creative thinking skills. The research was conducted in class X IPA at a public high school in Tangerang Regency. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only randomize control group. The research sample was 66 students, 33 as the experimental group and 33 as the control group. Determination of the sample using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection on mathematical creative thinking skills using test instruments. In general, the research findings reveal that students' mathematical creative thinking skills taught using the GMRL model are higher than the conventional model. These skills include fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. The fluency indicator is more dominant than the other three indicators. The conclusion of this study is that the GMRL model is more effective in increasing mathematical creative thinking skills than the conventional model.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop teaching materials based on problem-solving abilities in the materials of similarity and congruence at SMP/MTS. Problem solving ability is the ability to solve mathematical problems that are non-routine or procedural as usual which require deeper thinking in solving them. The teaching materials chosen are in the form of student worksheets (LKS). The trial subjects were taken based on nonprobability sampling techniques, specifically purposive sampling, namely 13 students one of the SMP/MTS level schools in Pamulang. The method used in this research is the ADDIE model development research method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results showed that the teaching materials developed fell into the very feasible category with a percentage score of 87.11% according to experts consisting of 3 lecturers in the mathematics education department at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and 5 mathematics teachers from several SMP/MTS. The results of the limited trial for students who obtained a percentage score of 80.92% were categorized as feasible by the students. Keywords: Problem Solving Ability, Similarity and Congruence Materials, ADDIE Development Model. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada Materi Kesebangunan dan Kekongruenan SMP/MTS. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah kemampuan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika yang bersifat non-rutin atau tidak sesuai prosedural seperti biasa yang dalam menyelesaikannya memerlukan pemikiran yang lebih mendalam. Bahan ajar yang dipilih berupa Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS). Subjek penelitian diambil berdasarkan teknik nonprobability sampling, tepatnya purposive sampling yaitu 13 orang siswa kelas IX salah satu sekolah tingkat SMP/MTS di Pamulang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan masuk ke dalam kategori sangat layak dengan skor persentase 87,11% menurut para ahli yang terdiri dari 3 orang dosen jurusan pendidikan matematika UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dan 5 orang guru matematika yang berasal dari beberapa sekolah tingkat SMP/MTS. Hasil uji coba terbatas kepada siswa memperoleh skor persentase 80,92% dikategorikan layak oleh siswa. Kata kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Matei Kesebangunan dan Kekongurenan, Model Pengembangan ADDIE.

Abstract

Berpikir aljabar adalah kemampuan menganalisis, menggeneralisasi, memodelkan, membuktikan, memprediksi, dan menyelesaikan masalah dengan menggunakan simbol, pola, dan bilangan yang digambarkan dalam bentuk kata-kata, diagram, tabel, grafik, dan persamaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh positif pendekatan RME terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa dan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. Terdapat sebanyak enam puluh siswa kelompok X IPA yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Penentuan jumlah sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes kemampuan berpikir aljabar sebanyak tiga belas soal. Dengan kata lain, nilai rata-rata kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan RME lebih besar daripada siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan konvensional. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan RME memberikan pengaruh yang sedang terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa. Oleh karena itu, RME dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the use of Google Classroom with Problem Based Learning model on students' mathematical representation abilities. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 17 Tangerang Selatan City in the 2021/2022 academic year. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method, the test instrument has given in the form of 6 test items for mathematical representation ability and student response questionnaires in learning mathematics by Google Classroom with Problem Based Learning model. The research instrument was given to 78 students as research subjects. The results of this study are: the use of Google Classroom in learning mathematics with the Problem Based Learning model can be implemented by utilizing the features available in Google Classroom. The mathematical representation ability of students who learn by using Google Classroom with Problem Based Learning model as a whole is in the medium category. Abstract

AbstractAlgebraic thinking ability is the ability needed to analyze, generalize, model, prove, predict, and solve problems using symbols, patterns, and numbers presented in the form of words, diagrams, tables, graphs, and equations. Students' algebraic thinking skills still need to improve. This study aimed to test and determine the effect of the RME approach on students' algebraic thinking skills. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a research design using a Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research subjects were X IPA group students, as many as 60 people. The sample determination was carried out using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using student algebraic thinking ability tests in the form of descriptions totaling 8 items, documentation studies, and interviews. The results showed an effect of the RME approach on students' algebraic thinking skills, and the effect was classified as moderate. Therefore, RME can be an alternative learning model that can be used to improve students' algebraic thinking skills.AbstrakKemampuan berpikir aljabar adalah kemampuan yang dibutuhkan untuk menganalisis, menggeneralisasi, memodelkan, membuktikan, memprediksi, dan memecahkan masalah, dengan menggunakan simbol, pola dan bilangan yang disajikan dalam bentuk kata, diagram, tabel, grafik, dan persamaan. Kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian iniadalah menguji dan mengetahui besarnya pengaruh pendekatan RME terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian menggunakan Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelompok X IPA sebanyak 60 orang. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa berbentuk uraian berjumlah 8butir soal, studi dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapatpengaruh pendekatan RME terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa dan pengaruhnya tergolong kategori sedang. Oleh karena itu RME dapat menjadi alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa.
