Abstract

MGPS (Marine Growth Prevention System) is a system a that hasbeen applied to siftling marine growth a growing,colonized sea-buliding hedges in the sea that can cause corrosion,which if not overcome drags on will result in damage to both the main engine and auxiliary enginengine. The growth of marine growth has resulted in a reduction in effective pipeline,that causing fluidic currents and the pressure loads received by the pipes to become larger,such as the water sea inlet and outlet pipes a part of the engine’s cooling system to become clogged. To prevent the occurence of a correlation by calculating the rate of JIS F057 sea water pipes and the heavy reduction in copper electrodes (Cu) type RRY17 based on the variability of a density current that result from increased ship speed

Abstract

Wooden ships use jati wood. Over time jati wood has become scarce. So that jati wood is relatively expensive. therefore bamboo is researched starting from the skin, bamboo meat, and bamboo internodes contained in the plant. In the structure of bamboo there are internodes. The bamboo segment is the weakness of the bamboo structure. The effect of bamboo segments in composite construction was investigated. Sesame oil replaces mineral oil and chemicals, because sesame oil is biodegradable, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and renewable. To determine the effect of bamboo segments, tensile and bending tests will be conducted on the bamboo composite. The results of this research are expected to find alternative materials, namely bamboo fibre-based composites or so-called bamboo reinforcement plastics (BRP) as materials for making people's ships. This study found that the more layers of bamboo and bamboo segments are very influential in influencing the tensile and bending strength of a laminated material. The tensile testing value of layer 3 with segments reached 127.556 Mpa and without segments 933.333 as well as bending testing layer 3 with segments reached 113.889 Mpa and without segments 111.111 Mpa. From this value, the value has not met the standard of the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI).

Abstract

Propeller merupakan sebuah komponen yang memiliki fungsi untuk menghasilkan gaya dorong dimana gaya dorong tersebut digunakan untuk maju atau mundurnya sebuah kapal. Seiring berjalannya waktu, tidak sedikit ditemukan kerusakan-kerusakan yang terjadi pada bagian-bagian propeller yang mengharuskan dilakukan perbaikan seperti pengelasan. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan untuk membandingkan sifat mekanis hasil pengelasan Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) dan Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) pada material berbahan kuningan dengan posisi pengelasan 1G (downhand). Untuk kekuatan tarik maksimum (ultimate tensile strength) pada pengelasan Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) sebesar 352.334 MPa. Dari hasil pengujian kekerasan, pengelasan Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) memiliki kekuatan kekerasan lebih tinggi pada daerah HAZ 83 HB dan daerah pengelasan 89 HB. Dari pengujian takik, pada pengelasan Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) memiliki kekuatan takik lebih tinggi dibanding dengan Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) sebebsar 6.940 J/mm2. Dari pengamatan makro, didapatkan cacat pengelasan pada Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) berupa inclompete fusion, sedangkan pada Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) berupa tumpang tindih.Kata Kunci: Baling-baling, Pengelasan Busur Logam Gas, Pengelasan Busur Inti Fluks

Abstract

Masalah pada controllable pitch propeller ini sering mengalami kerusakan pada bagian penghubung antara blade dan propeller hub. Propeller sering mengalami kelelahan/aus dibagian hub propeller. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui umur fatigue life dan hotspot stress yg dialami propeller pada saat beroperasi dan saat pitch mengalami perubahan sudut pitch dengan ukuran paling kecil sudut 10°, menengah sudut 15°, dan terbesar sudut 20°.  Kata Kunci : Controllable pitch propeller (CPP), fatigue life, fatigue, pressure

Abstract

Over time, marine building technology has experienced very significant developments and there are several variations of improvements that can be made to suit needs and conditions. A ship's propeller is a ship component that often experiences collisions with hard objects floating in the water which can cause the blades of the propeller to experience damage such as bending, cracking or breaking. In this case, the propeller should be repaired immediately so as not to disrupt the smooth operation of the ship. Repairing broken propeller blades can be done using a welding process. Welding is a technique of joining metals by melting part of the parent metal and filler metal with or without additional metal and producing continuous metal. Underwater Welding is a welding process that occurs in wet conditions, meaning that the electrode and object are in direct contact with air, while Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) is an electric arc welding process that uses an untreated electrode that does not melt. This research was conducted to analyze the welding measurement results of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Underwater Welding on brass materials. To support the analysis process, testing activities are carried out including tensile tests (tensile test), hardness tests (hardness test) and macrographic observations on the results of welding materials.

Abstract

Pipes are an important part of the world of shipping because most ships use pipes as a medium for transferring liquids from one tank to another or from one place to another. The use of biodiesel B30 as a mixture of diesel fuel high speed diesel (HSD) has an impact on the engine and other components. The method used in calculating the corrosion rate is the loss method which refers to the ASTM G31-71 standard using a test kit flow loop and potentiostat. Corrosion rate obtained by using a test toolflow loop until the 75th day that the B0 corrosion rate was 0.003534 mm/y and the B30 corrosion rate was 0.0047366 mm/y. The corrosion rate obtained by using a potentiostat corrosion testing tool showed that the B0 corrosion rate was 0.00000016 mm/y and the B30 corrosion rate was 0.00000963 mm/y. There is an additional 30%fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) palm crude oil can increase the corrosion rate.

Abstract

Propeller is one of the means of producing thrust to propel ships. In sailing in sea or river waters, ship propellers often hit foreign objects floating or floating in the waters which cause damage to the propeller in the form of bent, cracked or broken propeller blades. The purpose of this study is how to compare the results of welding Oxy Acetylene Welding (OAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) against testing on the repair results of propeller blades made of Brass (Brass). To find out the results of welding Material testing Destructive Test (DT) Results of the maximum tensile strength (ultimate tensile strength) in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) welding of 342,368 MPa, Results of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) hardness strength of 101 HB, Results from Impact Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of 0.850 j/mm2 and the Non-Destructive Test (NDT) results from metallographic observations of the finer grains, the grande size looks small, then the composition is homogeneous, so the structure is stronger and more ductile.

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik Fakultas Teknik dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Hang Tuah merupakan bentuk implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir melalui revitalisasi infrastruktur dan pemberdayaan ekonomi berbasis potensi wisata lokal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Keputih, Kecamatan Sukolilo, Kota Surabaya. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei awal untuk pemetaan kebutuhan, perencanaan partisipatif, pelaksanaan program secara kolaboratif, dan evaluasi hasil. Fokus kegiatan mencakup perbaikan dermaga mini sebagai pusat aktivitas wisata, rehabilitasi perahu wisata, penataan fasilitas umum, serta pelatihan masyarakat mengenai kesadaran lingkungan dan pengelolaan wisata berbasis bahari. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas infrastruktur, meningkatnya partisipasi dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kebersihan dan potensi lokal, serta tumbuhnya kegiatan ekonomi baru berbasis wisata. Program ini tidak hanya memperkuat kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengelola destinasi wisata secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan, tetapi juga memberikan pengalaman langsung bagi mahasiswa dalam menerapkan keilmuan di tengah masyarakat. Ke depan, keberlanjutan program dapat ditingkatkan melalui sinergi antara perguruan tinggi, pemerintah daerah, dan masyarakat lokal.
