Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning steps using make a match learning strategy to improve Javanese script writing skills in class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik Magelang and to improve Javanese script writing skills in class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik by using make a match strategy. This study used a class action research design which was carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The object of this research was the students of class VIII B SMPN 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik Magelang totaling 34 students. Data collection used test and non-test techniques. Qualitative descriptive technique was used to analyze the data of Javanese script writing skills using make a match learning method. The results showed that the steps in learning using two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. In cycle I and cycle II using the make a match method to improve the ability to write Javanese characters. Students' activeness in learning to write Javanese characters using the make a match method shows an increase in students' motivation and interest in writing using Javanese characters. Students become more active and willing to ask questions related to material that has not been understood. The ability to write Javanese script for students in class VIII B in the 2021/2022 school year using the make a match method has increased significantly. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in the average ability to write Javanese characters from cycle I of 65.49 and increased to 81.25.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan prosesi tradisi kuncungan, makna simbolis ubarampe dan pandangan masyarakat terhadap tradisi kuncungan di Desa Penungkulan, Kecamatan Gebang, Kabupaten Purworejo. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini yaitu informasi dari informan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Sumber data sekunder berupa dokumentasi foto, video pelaksanaan, dan rekaman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi partisipan, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dengan membandingkan data-data observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis menggunakan analisis model interaktif yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan beberapa bagian pada prosesi pelaksanaannya seperti, pra-pelaksanaan yaitu, (1)memilih hari, (2)mengundang tamu undangan, (3)menyiapkan ubarampe, tahap pelaksanaan yaitu, (1)mengumpulkan tamu undangan, (2)pembukaan, (3)pembacaan sholawat dan pemotongan rambut kuncung, (4)pembacaan doa, (5)dhaharan, (6)membagikan berkatan atau walimahan.Kata Kunci: folklor, tradisi, kuncungan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form and symbolic meaning of offerings (ubarampe) in the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony in Kedu Village, Kedu sub-district, Temanggung Regency. The primary data sources of this research are informants who know in depth about the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony. Secondary data sources are documentation and books about the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony, as well as previous studies on the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony in Kedu Village, Kedu Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency. Data collection techniques using participant observation, structured interviews, and documentation in the form of notes, photographs, books, recordings of interviews, and relevant research. Data validity testing techniques using triangulation of data sources and methods. The research used qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach. The results showed that the form of the Grebeg Makukuhan tradition ceremony was motivated as a form of respect for the ancestral figure, Ki Ageng Makukuhan, who is believed to bring Islam and bring goodness to the people of Kedu. There are several versions of the story of Ki Ageng Makukuhan. The form of the procession of the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony, namely (1) Pre-implementation, in the form of ruwat ringin, draining or cleaning Sendang Planangan, and simakan Al-Qur'an. (2) The core event, in the form of Lukir langse, haul Ki Ageng Makukuhan, Sadranan. (3) Post-implementation, in the form of ngumbah jaran. The symbolic meaning of offerings or ubarampe at the Grebeg Makukuhan traditional ceremony is: Tumpeng, ingkung ayam in the form of chicken cemani, market snacks, flowers, incense, hasta tirta, and ageman cloth. The community considers that the Grebeg Makukuhan tradition ceremony is a means of cultural education for the younger generation and children.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal theatricalism in the staging of "Family Welfare Empowerment"produced by Teater Amarta Yogyakarta on October 23, 2022 in the Concert Hall Taman BudayaYogyakarta. The current study is based on the concept of theatricalism as an opponent of realism in theculture of Western modern theater with the characteristics formulated by McTigue and Cohen. The aspectsanalysed include play, staging, and acting. The results of the study demonstrate that the play has thepotentials of theatricalism in a series of events that are consciously constructed to direct the attention ofthe audience to the event of performances through directional texts and scenes, opportunities forimprovisation, as well as the use of language and terms in dialogue. The staging contains theatricalismcharacteristics in which the stage arrangement is presented in the style of symbolism and is supported bythe arrangement of theatrical scenes which sometimes invites the audience to become part of theperformance. The acting side shows that the actors do not only play the role as a character but also ashimself through the improvisation. Hence, it shows that the play, staging, and acting achieve thecharacteristics of theatricalism which is, at the same time, contrary to realism Tujuan kajian ini adalah menyingkap teatrikalisme dalam pementasan “Pemberdayaan KesejahteraanKeluarga” produksi Teater Amarta Yogyakarta pada tanggal 23 Oktober 2022 di Concert Hall TamanBudaya Yogyakarta. Kajian ini berpijak pada konsep teatrikalisme sebagai penentang realisme dalam kulturteater modern Barat dengan ciri-ciri rumusan McTigue dan Cohen. Aspek yang dikaji adalah lakon,pemanggungan, dan akting. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan bahwa lakon memiliki potensi teatrikalismedalam rangkaian peristiwa yang dikonstruksi secara sadar untuk mengarahkan perhatian penonton padaperistiwa pementasan melalui keterangan laku dan adegan, peluang improvisasi, serta penggunaan bahasadan istilah dalam dialog. Pemanggungan memuat ciri teatrikalisme di mana tata panggung disajikan dengangaya simbolisme dan didukung oleh penataan adegan teatrikal yang terkadang mengajak penonton menjadibagian dari pertunjukan. Sisi akting memperlihatkan bahwa para aktor tidak hanya memainkan peransebagai tokoh tetapi juga sebagai dirinya sendiri melalui improvisasi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa lakon,pemanggungan, dan akting memenuhi ciri teatrikalisme sekaligus bertolak belakang dengan realisme.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and compare the literary structures of Sindhunata's novel Anak Bajang Menggiring Angin and S. Sularso's Ramayana using an objective-structural approach. The study's focus is on intrinsic factors, specifically themes and penokohan, as well as reflections of the social values of Jawa culture that are present in both karyas. This study uses a kualitatif deskriptif method with the content analysis technique applied to two novel texts as the primary data. The study's findings indicate that both karyas have a common interest in discussing traditional topics such as the relationship between kebaikan and kejahatan, cinta sejati, pengorbanan, and nilai kepemimpinan. However, there are differences in alur kelengkapan, narasi kedalaman, and tokoh penggambaran. Anak Bajang Menggiring Angin presents the Ramayana in a more precise and symbolic manner, while Sularso's version of the story emphasizes the traditional forms of ungkapan and Jawa symbols. The results of this study are presented in a clear and concise manner by comparing two contemporary adaptations of the classic Ramayana story with objective-structural analysis that has not yet been widely discussed. This study aims to shed light on how modern sastra might serve as a local reflection of culture through traditional epik.

Abstract

Antropologi budaya adalah studi perilaku budaya masyarakat yang hidup secara berkelompok di lingkungan masyarakat dengan berbagai macam cirikhas kehidupannya  salah satu contohnya dalam tradisi upacara nyadran. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan prosesi, fungsi folklor, dan makna simbolis ubarampe upacara Nyadran Makam Sewu di Bantul. Sumber data ini adalah informasi dari warga Dusun Pijenan-Pedak, panitia upacara Nyadran, pemimpin upacara, kaum atau rois, pengurus makam sewu, mantan pengurus makam sewu, juru kunci, serta perangkat Dusun Pijenan-Pedak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam terbuka, wawancara terstruktur, observasi partisipasi/ pengamatan berperan serta, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti dengan menggunakan alat bantu kamera, tape recorder, dan buku catatan. Teknik analisis data dengan  menggunakan cara etnografi (1) tahap pemrosesan satuan meliputi; tipologi satuan, penyusunan satuan, (2) kategorisasi/pengelompokan,(3) penafsiran data/kesimpulan. Selanjutnya metode keabsahan data menggunakan (1) triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode (2) perpanjangan keikutsertaan.Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa deskripsi rangkaian upacara Nyadran Makam Sewu di Bantul yang dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, tahap pertama adalah tahap persiapan upacara meliputi bersih lingkungan, tarub, midodareni, tahap kedua, pelaksanaan upacara meliputi (a) Semaan Al Qur'an, (b) Haul dan pengajian, (c) Khataman, tahlil, dan pengajian, (d) Kirap Jodhang, tahlil, kenduri, dan tabur bunga. Tahap ketiga, acara hiburan sholawat. Fungsi folklor dalam upacara Nyadran Makam Sewu di Bantul adalah (1) Fungsi sosial meliputi fungsi kegotong-royongan, fungsi sarana kerukunan hidup antar-warga, (2) Fungsi pelestarian tradisi, dan (3) Fungsi ritual.
