Abstract

Bankers in India provide ease of service by utilizing information technology for safe and appropriate transaction services. With this paradigm change in view, this research paper embodies the analysis of three dimensions/factors of e-banking: accessibility, convenience, and security, and the impact of these factors on customer satisfaction. The study is based on the secondary and primary data collected with a structured questionnaire from 165 respondents in the vicinity of the district of Palwal, Haryana. The public sector banks and respondents were selected using the criteria of the convenience sampling method. The data was collected on 17 statements of inherent three dimensions on a 5-point Likert scale and three statements of customer satisfaction dimension. The collected data was subjected to inferential statistics and dimension reduction/factor analysis. The results indicate a positive contribution of three latent variables towards the overall satisfaction of customers of public sector banks in India.

Abstract

Tempe, a traditional Indonesian fermented soybean product made with Rhizopus spp., is classified based on fermentation duration into fresh (two days), semangit (five days), and bosok (seven days) varieties, fermented at room temperature (28–30°C). Longer fermentation is believed to enhance its antidiabetic properties. The aim of this study was to compare the metabolite profiles and hypoglycemic activities of fresh, semangit, and bosok tempe made from germinated and non-germinated soybeans. Diabetic rat models were used to assess the effects of these tempe types on body weight, blood glucose levels, serum insulin, pancreatic β-cell count, and glycogen content in liver and muscle tissues. Metabolomic profiling was conducted using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), followed by principal component analysis (PCA) to assess the influence of fermentation stage and germination. Fresh tempe, especially from germinated soybeans, had the highest moisture content. Fermentation duration significantly influenced color, texture, and pH, with bosok tempe showing the most notable changes. Tempe and gliclazide significantly reduced blood glucose in diabetic rats in vivo, with semangit and bosok tempe restoring levels close to normal. However, weight loss was not reversed. Bosok non-germinated tempe induced the highest insulin levels among tempe treatments and improved β-cell count and density to levels comparable with gliclazide. Glycogen stores in the liver and muscle were significantly restored by tempe, with bosok non-germinated tempe showing the greatest effect. GC-MS profiling identified 154 metabolites, of which 63 were annotated. Fermentation and germination shifted the metabolite profile, with bosok non-germinated tempe showing the highest diversity, including amino acids, sugars, and amines. PCA separated samples by fermentation stage, highlighting metabolite accumulation with prolonged fermentation. The findings revealed that bosok tempe from non-germinated soybeans had the highest abundance of bioactive metabolites, including isoflavones, which likely contributed to its superior antioxidant and hypoglycemic potential compared to other tempe types.

Abstract

Abstract— Individuals with hypercholesterolemia (HC) require specific therapy, such as statin medication, to maintain their blood lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-C, LDL-C) within the normal range. In vivo, studies have shown that consuming fermented foods for a particular duration can help improve the blood lipid profile of HC animal models. However, meta-analysis studies have not investigated which type of fermented food has the most significant effect on improving the blood lipid profile. The studies included were in vivo research that examined the effects of fermented food interventions on improving the blood lipid profile in HC animal models. The results of this study indicate that fermented food interventions (both plant-based and animal-based) have a highly significant effect (p-value <0.001) on improving the blood lipid profile compared to the HC animal model group without intervention. However, the plant-based fermented food source group tends to show a more significant effect on lipid profiles than those sourced from animals.

Abstract

Bidara leaves (Ziziphus spina-christi) contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, triterpenoids and tannins which can be a source of antioxidants. In Indonesia, bidara leaves are used as herbal medicine by boiling fresh leaves. The products that developed from bidara leaves are health supplements and herbal teas from bidara leaves, but scientific studies about the antioxidant compounds of bidara leaves are still limited. There are antioxidant components that are non-polar, semi-polar or polar. This study examines the polarity of antioxidant compounds in bidara leaves. In this study, bidara leaves dried with a fluidized bed dryer had better chemical and physical characteristics. The results of the extraction by using various solvents (water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and hexane) with maceration method showed that the highest antioxidant capacity was in the ethanol fraction (p<0.05). These results were measured based on the antioxidant activity parameters that DPPH scavenging, FRAP values, total phenolic, and total flavonoids. These results indicate that most of antioxidant compounds in bidara leaves have high polarity.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the level of students’ ability to retell the contents of short stories by using Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) methods and the level of students’ ability in knowing the ability to retell the contents of short stories with the expository method and knowing the effect of SFE methods on the ability to retell the contents of short stories in class VIII students of SMPN 1 Cigeulis, Pandeglang District, Academic Year 2018/2019. This study used an experimental method and was conducted at SMPN 1 Cigeulis Pandeglang District Academic Year 2018/2019 by taking the eighth-grade students in academic year 2018/2019. The sample technique uses purposive sampling, namely class VIII A as an experimental class and class VIII B as a control class. Based on the results of data processing, it was obtained an illustration that the ability to retell the contents of short stories using the Student facilitator end explaining method in class VIII of SMPN 1 Cigeulis Pandeglang District in academic year 2018/2019 was very good. These results show that the average ability is 63.6 while students who get above the average score is 72.2% and those who score below the average of 34.4% of the highest score of 80, and the lowest score of 45. While the ability to retell the contents of short stories using the expository method is still lacking, it is shown that the average learning outcomes are 53.1 while students get above the average is 73.3% and those who get a score below average 30% from the highest score of 70 and the lowest value of 35. From the calculation of statistics obtained the results of hypothesis testing (t-test) with a significant level of 5% that is t count greater t table 7.332. It shows that there are differences in the ability to retell the contents of short stories that use the SFE methods to obtain higher learning outcomes when compared to using the expository method.

Abstract

This research aims to answer the formulation of question raised about whether there is an effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability of Class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year. The method used in this research is experimental method conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, by taking students of class XI as population. The random results for the two existing classes obtained Class XI A as experimental class and class XIB as control class. Each class has 30 students, thus the number of samples in this research are 60 students. Class XIA gets treatment using Hypnoteaching learning model. Meanwhile, class XIB as control class using direct learning model (expository). Based on data analysis obtained that student’s short story writing ability of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year which uses Hypnoteaching learning model has good category with average value of 79,1. While, short story writing ability of students which uses direct learning model (expository) at class XIB has enough category with average value of 70,26. It means, there is a positive effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability of students at Class XI SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year. It can be seen from the result of hypothesis test using t-test with a significant level 0,05’ gained tcount 4,758 and ttable 1,6723; obtained tcount 4,758 ttable 1,6723, so is rejected and is accepted. In short, states that there is no effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability and states that there is an effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability, then is rejected and is accepted.
