Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to provide training and guidance in the field of literary writing for students. This activity is an effort to develop students' critical literacy skills, especially through writing skills. In addition, this activity is also a way to bring schools and students closer to literary works. The implementation method, Community Service is carried out by providing ongoing training and mentoring. The training was conducted for three days for students/participants. This training is carried out in two ways, namely inclass and outclass. Inclass training is carried out to provide a common understanding of writing literary works to students/participants, while outclass training is conducted to hone sensitivity, critical power, and intuition of students/participants to catch any existing problems. around them to be used as material in writing literary works. Based on the results of the implementation, the understanding of literary works is better than before. Likewise, students' writing skills are increasing and getting better, this is evidenced by the results of their literary works in the form of poetry anthologies. The poems they make vary, both in terms of typography, theme, and content. The students were enthusiastic and enthusiastic in participating in these activities. With the activities of fostering literary writing in schools, it can help students and the school better recognize literary literacy, especially in the field of literary writing. On the other hand, fostering literary writing in schools can help teachers form the School Literacy Movement in their respective schools, considering that there are still very few people in the school environment, so there is a need for similar activities with the aim of increasing students' competence and love for reading and writing.

Abstract

Mitra dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Boarding School  yang terletak di Kecamatan Muara Bangkahulu, Kota Bengkulu, di Provinsi Bengkulu. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah belum mendapatkan informasi yang memadai tentang Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) sebagai program Kemendikbud yang ditetapkan pada tahun 2015 baik secara konseptual dan prosedural. Untuk mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi mitra, melalui kegitan PKM ini solusi yang akan dilaksanakan adalah melaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi, pembekalan materi, dan pelatihan.  Untuk mewujudkan target luaran di atas, metode yang akan diterapkan mengadopsi pola pelaksanaan penelitian perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan  dan evaluasi, serta analisis dan refleksi. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM yang sudah dilaksakana adalah : 1) sudah tersosialisasinya Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) kepada warga sekolah di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Boarding School  yang terletak di Kecamatan Muara Bangkahulu, Kota Bengkulu. 2) Siswa dan Pembina Asrama sudah memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang genre karya fiksi hasil kesusastraan Indonesia, dan 3) siswa sudah memiliki keterampilan menulis laporan kegiatan prabaca dan laporan kegiatan membaca harian.Kata kunci: gerakan literasi sekolah, karya fiksi, kegiatan prabaca, laporan kegiatan membaca, penumbuhan budi pekerti

Abstract

Communication within special interest communities operates through layered systems of meaning that extend well beyond the simple exchange of information. This study examines the verbal and nonverbal communication patterns of the Purwokerto Tattoo Club (PTC), a formally organized tattoo subculture community based in Purwokerto, Central Java, Indonesia, active since 2010. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected between January and March 2025 through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving three categories of informants: active tattooists, registered tattoo enthusiasts, and community administrators. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, and data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. Findings reveal that the PTC community has developed an integrated communicative ecosystem in which verbal and nonverbal dimensions operate synergistically. In the verbal dimension, WhatsApp Group functions as a digital social space sustaining real-time coordination and community solidarity, while a system of technical jargon, comprising the terms performing, gangbang tattoo, and colouring, serves as a linguistic identity marker distinguishing members from the broader social world. In the nonverbal dimension, physical appearance through tattoos and piercings, vocalics, artifacts, haptics, and color symbolism collectively construct the community's collective identity and social cohesion. These findings affirm that subcultural community communication cannot be studied in isolation but requires an integrative analytical framework. This study contributes a new perspective on special interest community communication in the Southeast Asian context, where such research remains largely underrepresented in the academic literature.
