Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the relationship between lemuru fish catch to Sea Surface Temperature (SST), El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) phenomenon in Bali Strait. The results showed, that in the period 2007 – 2016. fluctuations of catches lemuru tends to decline. Sea Surface Temperature (SST) distribution with the lowest temperature 25,28oC at 24,53oC - 27,16oC and the highest temperature is 29,31oC in the range of 28,730C – 30,490C. The lowest temperature occurred in July - September while the highest temperature occurred in January - April. Based on the calculation there is a linkage and relationship between catch and SST as shown on the value of determination and correlation reached 50,0% and 70,73%. Most of the catches occurred in the west season and then the transition II, transition I and East Season. The relationship of ENSO phenomenon to the catch during the El-Nino phase of lemuru catch will increase while in the phase of La-Nina the catch of lemuru will decrease, because time of El-Nino phase of the sea surface temperature (SST) relative low which results in the chlorophyll-a mean case which is a food sources of lemuru fish. Based on Trenberth's theory, (1997), the rise and fall of the ENSO Index of less than six months is not stated in ENSO. From the calculation results during the research of 2007 - 2016 happened three times ENSO phenomenon that is in 2009, 2010 and 2015. At the time of the IOD phenomenon, the IOD (+) phase will result in a decrease in catch while the normal IOD phase and (-) will increase the catch. From the results of this study can also be observed, in the year 2007 - 2011 phenomenon ENSO and IOD have a strong influence on the catch while in the year 2012 - 2016 the influence of the phenomenon of ENSO and IOD has no strong influence caused by the quantity of lemuru fish that have been over exploitation that resulted in the current Bali Strait on Over Fishing status. Abstract

Most of the tourism area are distributed along the coast that intersects directly with those that result in degradation of the ecosystem inside. The southern region of Bali is one region that have experienced rapid development of tourism activities. The expansion of the tourism area in Tanjung Benoa, Bali occurs to coastal areas and directly contact with underwater habitat such as coral reefs and seagrass beds which can damage the underwater ecosystem. The goal of this study is to map shallow water habitat in densely packed tourist areas Tanjung Benoa, Bali using remote sensing technique. Two satellites dataset (Sentinel-2A and Landsat 8) at different spatial and spectral resolutions were tested using Lyzenga algorithm. The maksimun likehood supervised classification is used to classify the underwater objects and accuracy test were then conducted to to evaluate the classification effectiveness. The results showed that there were three types of shallow water habitats in Tanjung Benoa coastal area, such as dead coral, seagrass, and sand. The accuracy test showed Sentinel-2A images with an overall accuracy of 80,00% and kappa accuracy of 59.27%. had higher accuracy than Landsat 8 images with an overall accuracy of 68,29% and kappa accuracy of 35,43%. Abstract

This research aimed to examine and analyze the problems that occur in the management of sustainable captured fisheries, especially Sardinella fish in Jembrana Regency, in order to determine alternative strategies in management through SWOT analysis and Priority scale through Analytical Hierarch Process (AHP). The alternative determination of the sustainable management strategy of lemuru fish based on SWOT analysis includes IFAS matrix, with a strength score of 1.51 and a weakness of 1.26, the difference between a strengths and weaknesses value of 0.25 (x). The EFAS matrix has an opportunity score of 1.59 and a threat score of 1.30, the difference between the opportunity and threat factors is 0.29 (y). SWOT analysis diagram is located in quadrant one, which is a progressive strategy or SO Strategy using all the power available to echieve or get the greatest opportunity. Policy Determination based on AHP for sustainable management of lemuru fish in Jembrana Regency, Criterion 7 becomes the first priority with a value of 22%, namely cooperating with relevant agencies related to data and information collection of reliable and integrated capture fisheries in accordance with technological developments, in order to streamline activities and maximize the catch. Abstract

Microplastic as a marine debris is currently become a global problem. Tuminting and Malalayang coasts as the study case in this research because these places were located in the high population and anthropogenic activity areas, that allowing the microplastic pollution. The goal of this research are to identify the types of microplastic, to analyze the abundance of microplastic and to evaluate the differences accumulation of microplastic in bivalve from Tuminting and Malalayang, Manado. This research is used a purposive sampling method. The analysis of microplastic in bivalves following C. M. Boerger et al. (2010) methods. The average of microplastic for the three species of bivalve in Tuminting for Cardidae sp. Was 5.75 particles/g, Venridae sp. 17.05 particles/g and Mytilidae sp. 130.06 particles/g, while in the three species of bivalve in Malalayang for Cardidae sp. 50.87 particles/g, Venridae sp. 9.56 particles/g and Mytilidae sp. 6.93 particles/g. Based on Kruskal Wallis analysis for bivalve of Tuminting is 0.087; Malalayang 0.616. The bivalve morphometric correlation test using Spearman Rank analysis showed a result 0.05 for Tuminting and 0.187 for Malalayang. The microplastics types that found in bivalve are fragments, films, fibers, foam, pellets, granules and the highest one is fiber. In this study, abundance of microplastic in bivalve from Tuminting also Malalayang waters, were found so it was necessary to disseminate this information to the public about the dangers of plastic. There must be a government regulations regarding the coastal area management related to garbage waste and have to make another research about the identification of the chemical that containing in microplastic in bivalves. Abstract

Among several forms of marine pollution, oil damages coastal ecosystems. Repeated reports of oil contamination in the marine environment can partly load with major shipping lines. The Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing over the Bali Strait is Indonesia's second busiest ferry port after Merak-Bakauheni. The most congested shipping routes can carry a significant risk of environmental damage from an oil spill. Oil spill trajectory modelling is carried out to reduce the impact of this possible disaster. Therefore, the use of modelling to ascertain the route of the oil spill was considered. The oil leak path is simulated using the GNOME model. Two oil spill scenarios were used as input models. The chosen location is around the Ketapang Gilimanuk crossing, as well as the time of the easterly season. An ocean HF radar stationed in the Bali Strait verifies the accuracy of the current marine data generated by FVCOM. To see the pattern of the oil spill trajectory based on a ten days simulation, we combined the latest data from FVCOM with GNOME. To determine the ability of the model to predict the flow and trajectory of oil spills in the Bali Strait, this study try to analyze and interpret the oil spill trajectory from model and then validate the model results with satellite imagery.
