Abstract

The form of art is a representation of a reality. In representing this reality, an artist tries to restructure signs or even create new signs. The expression poured into the medium of art is a novelty and has never been formulated at all through existing codes, thus creating a new discourse. With all his abilities, the artist creates new signs in his work by associating an object with another object based on generally accepted rules (conventions). In this study, the author uses Peirce's semiotic theory to analyze the sign system in Reza Sastra Wijaya's graphic art. Contextually, the correlation of the sign system contained in this work with the title of the work, namely "the fraudulent method" and the subject matter or main idea of ??the case of "bribery" can be interpreted that with "bribes or kickbacks" everything can be achieved and achieved without following the rules. -Rules that apply by convention. This symbolic message is what the artists want to convey through this graphic art work which is associated with the game of chess, which is a game of fighting tactics and strategies in achieving a victory. This study aims to provide knowledge to academicians about the study of semiotics, so that they can find out how the sign system is presented in art and design works.

Abstract

Palembang Television (PALTV) is one of the first television stations in the city of Palembang and South Sumatra. PALTV has been established for approximately 18 years, to be precise on September 9 2005. According to the sources the author reviewed, so far there has been no change to the PALTV logo, starting from its inception in 2005 until now it still uses the same logo. Therefore, PALTV as the first television station in South Sumatra and Palembang City should carry out rebranding so that it can position itself with the needs and developments of the times, especially in aspects of current digital culture. The main problem discussed in this research is how to analyze the PAL TV logo design based on the principles of simple, timeless, proportional and relevant logo design. The results of this research can be seen that visually the PALTV logo does not fully represent digital culture with the development of information and communication technology. Therefore, a rebranding effort is needed to apply the principles of logo design that is simple, timeless, proportional and relevant, so that it has an impact on a visual image that is able to create suggestions and impress the audience, and is relevant to the conditions and culture of the people.

Abstract

Noni fruit is known to have various important health benefits, but the main problem in this design is the lack of knowledge, understanding and public acceptance of noni fruit is still very low, especially among generation Z. This design adopts the design thinking method in developing media that can attract attention, increase interest, and encourage action and search for further information about noni fruit. The main objective of this design is to inform the young generation aged 18-29 years in the city of Palembang about the health benefits of noni fruit through an application as the main interactive media. The main media used is interactive media in the form of a special application to introduce the various benefits of noni fruit to the people of Palembang City. This application will be designed using an approach that is attractive and easy to understand by the younger generation, especially Gen-Z, which contains complete information about the health benefits of the fruit. noni which can be accessed or installed via a QR Code, by displaying illustrations of noni characters and displaying application features such as, kudu reminder, kudu kepo, noni content, kudu understand and there are other features which are explained in the design visualization section . In this way, it is hoped that it will help attract generation Z to try processed noni fruit in the city of Palembang.

Abstract

The existence of Palembang wood carvings began to be recorded since the era of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate in the 14th century, which can be seen from the field of traditional Palembang architecture, namely the Limas House, namely in the furniture or household furnishings and mosque buildings such as pulpits and calligraphy. The ups and downs of the development of Palembang wood carvings are closely related to various social, economic, cultural, and religious factors that influence them, including modern culture. The urgency of the problem of this study is that wood carvings as one of Palembang's distinctive cultural heritages, until now have not received much attention from academics or intellectuals and also the government. The method used is the historical research method with data collection techniques that will be carried out through observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation studies. The data analysis process is carried out structurally and systematically starting from data identification, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This research aims to explore wood carvings as a medium of expression as well as a culture that reflects the journey of history that influences identity and its journey to the present. through this research, it is expected to be able to provide references and also motivation for academics and art researchers to study the art of Palembang wood carving, so that this heritage is not only maintained physically, but also intellectually.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis interpretasi simbolisme visual dalam kampanye politik Fitrianti-Nandriani yang menggunakan nuansa warna hitam dan pink, terinspirasi dari estetika budaya pop K-pop, khususnya grup musik Black Pink. Studi ini mengkaji persepsi audiens terhadap simbolisme warna dalam konteks politik lokal di Palembang, serta bagaimana elemen visual ini memengaruhi citra kandidat di mata pemilih, terutama generasi muda. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutik Gadamer, yang melibatkan konsep-konsep seperti prasangka, lingkaran hermeneutik, dan kesatuan perspektif (fusion of horizons). Fokus utama adalah memahami bagaimana audiens menginterpretasikan warna-warna ini dalam ranah politik, menghubungkannya dengan nilai-nilai modernitas dan pemberdayaan yang umumnya dikaitkan dengan budaya K-pop. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan warna hitam dan pink tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai estetika, tetapi juga berperan sebagai simbol budaya yang menghubungkan nilai-nilai global dengan kepentingan lokal. Warna hitam mencerminkan kekuatan dan kepercayaan diri, sementara warna pink memberikan kesan segar dan modern yang sesuai dengan selera pemilih muda. Kombinasi warna ini memperkuat citra kandidat sebagai sosok progresif dan inovatif, sehingga meningkatkan daya tariknya di kalangan audiens muda. Pendekatan hermeneutik Gadamer membantu mengungkap keterkaitan emosional antara elemen visual dalam kampanye politik ini dengan persepsi audiens, serta bagaimana elemen-elemen tersebut berperan dalam membentuk pemahaman politik lokal. Identitas visual dengan elemen Black Pink memberikan nuansa kontemporer yang signifikan dalam membentuk koneksi emosional antara kandidat dan pemilih dalam konteks budaya pop yang semakin populer.
