Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period between the life of children and the life of adults which is characterized by biological and psychological growth and development. The future is a mystery to everyone, no one knows what will happen in the future. With the uncertainty, not a few individuals feel anxious. The assessment method uses interviews, observation, and individual counseling services. The client is a 22-year-old woman who is experiencing future anxiety because she has made a mistake that God considers unforgivable. The approach technique used is humanistic existential counseling with the aim of helping clients reduce anxiety about their future. The result of this approach in service is a decrease in adolescent anxiety regarding the future.

Abstract

This research discusses the importance of implementing cyber counseling as an alternative in forming superior personalities in students in Indonesia. Currently, some students experience difficulties in developing their self-concept and character. One reason is the lack of access to effective counseling services and the stigma associated with consulting face-to-face counselors. Therefore, cyber counseling is an attractive solution because it can provide support and guidance online, reduce embarrassment and facilitate a positive personality.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Penerapan layanan konseling individual menggunakan pendekatan Person Centered Therapy untuk meningkatkan etika komunikasi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 23 Medan Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bimbingan dan konseling, dan wali kelas dan objek penelitian ini adalah 3 orang siswa kelas VIII yang mengalami rendahnya etika komunikasi dengan guru maupun dengan teman. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Adapun teknik dalam analisis data dalam pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan layanan konseling individual dengan pendekatan Person Centered Therapy pada siklus I siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 23 Medan. berjalan dengan lancar. Pada siklus II menunjukkan adanya perubahan dalam beretika saat berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Pada siklus II ini siswa sudah mulai dapat berkomunikasi yang baik kepada orang lain. Dengan berdasarkan hasil obsrvasi dan wawancara yang telah dilakukan pada siklus I dan siklus II peneliti dapat menyatakan bahwa layanan konseling individual dengan menggunakan pendekatan Person Centered Therapy dapat meningkatkan etika komunikasi siswa.

Abstract

Misconceptions often occur because the concepts studied and accepted are different. The aim of this research is to find out what misconceptions there are regarding guidance and counseling services. The technique used in writing this article is a bibliographic display method that uses literature such as journals, books, documents and other sources without conducting field research. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the personal character of students, to be aware of the wrong and deviant behavior that students have done at school through personal social counseling activities with a relational approach. The research method used is literature review sourced from journals/articles, books related to social personal counseling of students at school. The results of the study concluded that the application of personal social counseling with a relational approach model made students more comfortable and calm when the counselor explored their experiences. Likewise, in this approach model a counselor must be able to communicate with a student in terms of respecting a student's personal self, understand the student's personal world through empathy, be aware of and share experiences with students at school about what they have experienced. natural counselor openly, away from the attitude of something that is not true (artificial).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the self-counseling approach technique in increasing female students' awareness of the dangers of social media. The research method used also uses qualitative methods by looking for theoretical references that are relevant to the observed phenomena. Observations were carried out at SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 01 MEDAN. The results of research on self-counseling approach techniques can be used to increase awareness about the dangers of social media among high school students. This is proven by changes in the behavior patterns of the subjects studied who experienced changes in the discipline of using social media after the subjects underwent the counseling process.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing need for guidance and counseling services for special populations, such as individuals with disabilities, victims of violence, at-risk adolescents, prisoners, and problematic migrant workers who face difficulties in the process of self-adjustment. The main problem addressed in this study is how guidance and counseling services contribute to improving the psychological and social adaptation abilities of these vulnerable groups. The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services, the intervention models applied, and their implications for the self-adjustment of special populations. This research employed a library research method using a descriptive qualitative approach through thematic synthesis of various empirical studies and related scientific literature. The findings indicate that guidance and counseling services significantly contribute to improving self-efficacy, adaptive coping skills, self-awareness, and social support among clients. REBT-based counseling, feminist counseling, family counseling, and trauma-informed approaches were found to be effective in specific contexts. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated synthesis across various special populations regarding the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services on self-adjustment. This study contributes as a foundation for developing more inclusive, contextual, and needs-based guidance and counseling services for vulnerable groups, although it is limited to literature-based analysis without primary data

Abstract

Self-harming behavior among adolescents is an increasingly alarming mental health issue in secondary schools, both in Indonesia and globally. This article aims to comprehensively examine the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in the prevention and management of selfharming behavior in secondary school settings. Using a systematic literature review approach, this study analyzes various relevant scientific sources, including qualitative and quantitative studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published between 2019 and 2024. The results indicate that guidance and counseling teachers occupy a strategic position as the first line of defense in detecting, supporting, and referring students exhibiting self-harming behaviors. Several counseling approaches have proven effective, including behavioral, psychoanalytic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. However, the effectiveness of school counselors’ role also depends on several supporting factors, such as training, emotional competence, and skills in managing compassion fatigue. Furthermore, collaboration among school counselors, parents, mental health professionals, and the entire school community is a critical prerequisite for creating a comprehensive prevention system. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji akuntabilitas program Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) dalam perspektif Standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber jurnal ilmiah yang relevan dalam lima tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa akuntabilitas dalam pendidikan merupakan bentuk pertanggungjawaban lembaga terhadap proses dan hasil yang dicapai, yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Dalam konteks BK, akuntabilitas tercermin dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi program yang dilakukan secara sistematis dan berbasis data. Program BK yang akuntabel mampu mendukung pencapaian SNP, khususnya pada standar proses, penilaian, dan kompetensi lulusan. Namun, implementasi akuntabilitas masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti keterbatasan sumber daya dan kurangnya pemahaman. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi seperti penyusunan program yang terstruktur, peningkatan kompetensi guru BK, pemanfaatan teknologi, serta evaluasi yang berkelanjutan. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa akuntabilitas program BK memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung kualitas layanan pendidikan secara menyeluruh.
