Abstract

Thinking about a solution of the main problem faced by Indonesian students in learning English communicatively, CLT might be a good one. CLT is proved as an effective approach that can solve the problem of many language learners who can not communicate in English fluenty after learning English for several years. This article analyzes the challenges to apply CLT approach successfully in Indonesia as one of EFL ( English as Foreign Language) contexts. First, issues of theoretical assuption on CLT such as: what should be the roles of teachers and students in CLT, what type of materials and activities in the CLT classroom are discussed. Then, how English teachers and the students in Indonesia play their roles in CLT classroom?, do they have the difficulties in playing their roles ?, do the teachers can set the classroom that can encourage students to communicate in English by using CLT classroom activities and materials? are analyzed. The finding shows that applying CLT is still challenging in Indonesian school context because both teachers and students still can not play their roles well. In addition, CLT activities such as role play and games can not be applied in the classroom effectively yet. Then, authentic materials is still rare and teachers are struggling to access them. Finally, teacher training, improving classroom facilities and reforming English testing system at Indonesian schools are the solutions suggested in this article to apply CLT successfully in Indonesian school context.

Abstract

There are two main motivation theories. a hierarchy of basic needs theory,  and an expectancy theory. In a Hyrarchy of basic needs theory, Maslow has stated that the basic needs as a main behaviour direction are structured into a hierarchy. There are five basic human needs.  The first: Physiological needs such as: salary, bonus or working condition. The second: the safety needs, such as: safe job environment, job security or health cover. The third, social needs, such as  union and team work. The next is self esteem, such as getting an award, medal, certificate or any other recognisition. Then the last is self actualization, for example is by providing an opportunity to share knowledge, skills and eprerience. The evaluation of this theory are: there is no spiritual needs as human basic needs is a main weakness of this theory. Then it is possible that different level of  needs  have to be satisfied in the same time, or not in hierarchy level or, not always have to be fulfilled in order. The next motivation theory is an Expectancy Theory. This theory is based on three main factors. The first factor is: English teachers will be motivated to work harder if they have a good perception to their own competences in accordance with their job. The second, individual motivation depends on the rewards given when they finish a  particular job. Finally, it also depends on their regards to the rewards given from the job that they do. Expectancy theory is a good theory, however, it is not easy to be implemented because the principals should provide various types of reward to satisfy the expectation of their English teachers. Considering the strengths and weaknesses of these two theories, it is better to combine both of them in the practice to get more effective results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Power Point media on the level of concentration and motivation of students. The research method used in this study is a literature study by collecting data from various reliable sources. The analysis results show that the use of Power Point media can increase the concentration and motivation of students. This is because Power Point has an attractive and interactive appearance, which can attract the attention of students and make them more focused on learning. In addition, the use of Power Point can also facilitate students in understanding the material presented by teachers or lecturers. Therefore, the use of Power Point media is highly recommended in learning to improve the quality of student learning

Abstract

Mustafa Al-Siba’i is a warrior figure for the authenticity of Hadith. After Muhammad, as messenger of God, passed away, some orientalists have emerged who doubt the authenticity of the Hadith. Then Mustafa is one of the figures at the forefront of countering the orientalists who are trying to make Muslims doubt the authenticity of Hadits. This article aims to analyze how Hadith Hermeneutics in the perspective of Mustafa Al-Siba’i. Therefore, who is the figure of Al-Siba’i, what is his educational background and his works will be discussed, before analyzing his thoughts related to the authenticity of the Hadith to find out the style of his thinking. The method applied was library research or reviewing various existing literature, mainly sourced from various journals and books explore about Mustafa Al-Siba’i's thoughts. The results of the study of various literatures explain that Al-Siba’i is an extraordinary scholar and preacher who actively writes and produces various logical, systematic and monumental works. He has written various works to counter the efforts of orientalists or liberal figures to weaken the Muslim community's belief in Hadith. Al-Siba’i's works can influence Muslims to the authenticity of Hadith as Islamic law or the second reference for Muslims after the Qur'an.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of PAI teacher leaders in leading students to achieve their best achievements, opportunities and challenges for them to become PAI teacher leaders. The researchers used interviews, documentation, and observations to collect data. This qualitative research was conducted at several State High Schools in Central Java. They were SMAN 3 Semarang, SMAN 1 Demak, SMKN 4 Kendal, and SMKN 1 Salatiga. The data analysis model used by the researchers was the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. It involved data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawings. The research results show that PAI teacher leaders in several high schools play a role in leading their students to achieve the best achievements in student competitions. Apart from that, PAI teacher leaders have the opportunity to develop their leadership abilities if they are supported by a school principal who distributes his leadership roles well and has a democratic leadership style in leading the school so that teachers are involved in decision-making.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi integrasi kurikulum kulliyatul mu’alimin Al-Islamiyah dan kurikulum tahfidz di pondok tahfidz modern Al-Aqsho Kudus Jawa tengah dan mengetahui faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam integrasi kurikulum kulliyatul mu’alimin Al-Islamiyah dan kurikulum tahfidz di pondok tahfidz modern Al-Aqsho Kudus Jawa tengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan “field reseaech”. Tenik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Sumber datanya adalah Direktur kurikulum dan ustadz pondok serta beberapa dokumen pendukung. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah model interaktif. Untuk mengecek keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi waktu dan triangulasi Teknik. Hasil pada penelitian ini bahwa perencanaan integrasi kurikulum dilaksanakan setiap awal tahun ajaran baru, yaitu dengan menatar guru khususnya guru baru, merancang dan merencanakan kegiatan untuk satu tahun ke depan, pelaksanaan integrasi kurikulum ini dilaksanakan dalam pembelajaran dan kegiatan seharian, evaluasi integrasi kurikulum dengan melakukan tes tulis untuk kurikulum KMI dan tes lisan untuk kurikulum Tahfidz, faktor pendukung integrasi kurikulum ini ada tiga yaitu Bahasa, santri dan orang tua, dan lingkungan, faktor penghambat integrasi kurikulum yaitu tidak adanya acuan.

Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan terdapat tantangan yang signifikan terkait dengan kelemahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Dalam konteks tersebut, sering kali siswa tidak didorong untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berfikir mereka secata optimal Terdapat berbagai model pembelajaran yang bisa mendorong siswa supaya aktif terlibat dalam proses belajar, merangsang kreatifitas dan kemandirian mereka dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang terdapat didalamnya yaitu model penemuan (Discovery). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi model Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di kelas IX MTsN 2 Grobogan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi langsung di lapangan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di kelas IX MTsN 2 Grobogan berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik.Kata Kunci: Implementasi, Discovery Learning, pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak.

Abstract

This study is aimed at revealing the functions of human resource management in MAN  Yogyakarta III (State Islamic Senior High School) that includes human resource planning, recruitment, selection and placement, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation,   health program,  teacher  and employee relation  and the effectiveness of  human resource  management.This study is a qualitative research. The subjects of this study are the principal, teachers, employees and students of MAN Yogyakarta III. The data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interview and documentation. The technique employed to measure the data validity was triangulation. The research instrument was the researcher herself. The data were analyzed using interactive model consisting of three phases:  data reduction, data display, and verification.The findings show that MAN Yogyakarta III (1) arranges  human resource  planning based on the vision, however, it is not effective because madrasah has no right to plan; (2) recruits competent teachers and employees effectively through  news paper; (3) sets four types of effective selection: administration selection, academic selection, interview and micro teaching and positions the teachers and employees based on their academic qualification and competences; (4) implements effective   training  and  development  programs   in  accordance  with  the  teachers` and employees` needs such as sharing ideas and knowledge, comparative study, internal presentation,  evaluation and coordination; (5) appraises performance by checking the administration of teaching and supervision but the  implementation of performance appraisal is not effective. (6) gives the effective compensation for the teachers and employees  in accordance with their   status; (7) undertakes effective health programs by creating clean and healthy school  environment; (9) organizes some programs to establish  effective relationship between the teachers and  employees.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the strategy of Islamic Education teachers in handling inclusion children in SD Hj Isriati Baiturahman 1 Semarang which consists of: planning, learning process, and evaluation or handling carried out by the Islamic Religious Education teacher right when studying at SD Hj Isriati Baiturahman 1 Semarang.               The research conducted by the author is qualitative research. The research subjects were Islamic Education teachers who taught inclusion children from class I to class VI and collaborated with Counseling Guidance teachers. While the object of this research is the right strategy for inclusion children in Islamic Education subjects. Data is carried out through observation, interviews, documentation. The validity of the data used is Triangulation. Analysis of the data used is Reduction, Display, Conclusing Drawing.               This research is intended to answer the problem: How is the strategy of Islamic Education teachers in handling inclusion children in SD Hj Isriati Baiturahman 1 Semarang. This study shows that: (a) planning of personal records is carried out to Islamic Religious Education teachers with data obtained from homeroom teachers who are followed up by Counseling Guidance teachers. This makes it easy for Islamic Education teachers to plan treatment strategies before learning takes place for inclusion children with various characteristics in different classes. (b) For the implementation of learning carried out in various classes, Islamic Education teachers are assisted by Shadow or accompanying teachers. (c) the handling or evaluation of the study that the strategies of the four Islamic Education teachers have strategies that vary according to the level of characteristics of the inclusion child (Slow Learner, ADHD, mentally disabled). Keywords : inclusion, Islamic Studies Teacher, strategy

Abstract

This article is based on the library reseach using an analysis content. This research is trying to analyse an Islamic education based on Abdurrahman wahid or Gus Dur’s thought, before he was elected as the fourt President of RI periode, from 1970 to 1998. This essay is based on the text written by Gus Dur, whether in the form of books, articles, newspaper section and any other types of the text , and also the papers from other figures who tried to interprete his thought. Based on Abdurrahman Wahid, the unclear national education direction programmed by the government - since colonial period until the reform era , that did not eliminate the colonial era heritage - is to create "kelas kerani". This class featured an alternative education concept with Paulo Freire and Ivan Illich as the figure with their oppressive education system as the main concept or the domination of strong people to the weak people. Based on Gus dur, the alternative education proposed by Paulo Friere still has the weaknesses in the approach used. It is still political in the confrontative context to the ruler. Therefore, this can make the confrontation against the ruler. This is not appropiate with the Indonesian society character who are not easy to accept the paradigm “ the confrontation between “the have and the have not”. Thus, Gus Dur offered “an alternative education” with the cultural approach” represented by “ Islamic Boarding School”.Keywords: National Education, Islamic Education, Islamic Boarding
