Abstract

INCREASING OF HOUSEWIVES POTENTIAL IN PROCESSING DOMESTIC ORGANIC WASTE BY USING TAKAKURA METHOD IN CIBIRU WETAN VILLAGE, BANDUNG REGENCY. Domestic waste (DW) is a major environmental challenge for many urban local bodies in Indonesia both in the village and in the city, where urbanization, industrialization and economic growth have resulted in increased waste generation per person. One way to solve this waste is to turn organic domestic into compost. Composting, the recycling of organic waste such as vegetation and food waste reduces the amount of waste going to landfill and is, therefore, a rapidly growing sector. Desa Cibiru Wetan, Kab. Bandung, West Java is one of the villages that has learned about how to process organic waste into compost and become a pilot project but because of the distance between raw materials and management with compost incubator so that compost production is disturbed. Therefore, the purpose of the project activity was to produce compost from domestic organic waste by the Takakura method. In this method, a small incubator was used and placed at the home of the community. Although on a small scale but with many multipliers, it able to produce an abundant compost and can be an alternative for the existing compost incubator method. The stage included counseling and socialization, training in making incubator Takakura, training in production compos,t and monitoring and evaluation. The results showed a good understanding of both groups for both the socialization and counseling stages as well as for the practice of production of compost. In conclusion, the activity on the production of compost by using Takakura method able was to solved for domestic organic waste and remind set the interest of the community in producing compost.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Global Hunger Index menunjukkan tingkat kelaparan dan kekurangan gizi di dunia terus mengalami penurunan sejak tahun 2000. Penurunan ini lebih jauh terus diupayakan melalui SDGs, yaitu pilar kedua: mengakhiri kelaparan, mencapai ketahanan pangan, memperbaiki nutrisi dan mempromosikan pertanian yang berkelanjutan. Salah satu indikator dari kondisi kekurangan gizi dapat terlihat dari insidensi kejadian stunting yang muncul sebagai akibat dari keadaan yang berlangsung lama seperti kemiskinan, perilaku pola asuh yang tidak tepat, dan sering menderita penyakit secara berulang akibat kebersihan serta sanitasi yang kurang baik. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut adalah dengan melakukan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat Desa Rancaekek Kulon tentang stunting, dengan tujuan meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat, meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran dan kepedulian masyarakat mengenai stunting. Target sasaran untuk kegiatan penyuluhan ini yaitu ibu-ibu desa yang memiliki anak balita sehingga dapat lebih paham tentang bagaimana cara mencegah dan menghadapi stunting bila terjadi pada balitanya. Kata Kunci: Tanpa Kelaparan, Stunting, Penyuluhan ABSTRACT The Global Hunger Index shows that the level of hunger and malnutrition in the world has continued to decline since 2000. This reduction is further pursued through the second pillar of SDGs: ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture. One indicator of the condition of malnutrition can be seen from the incidence of stunting that appears as a result of long-standing conditions such as poverty, inappropriate parenting behavior, and often suffering from repeated diseases due to poor hygiene and sanitation. The method used to solve this problem is by providing counseling to the people of Rancaekek Kulon Village about stunting, with the aim of rising public health, increasing public knowledge,awareness, and concern for for stunting. The targets for this counseling are mothers who have children under five and need education about stunting to understand how to prevent and deal with stunting when it occurs in their toddlers. Keywords: Without Hunger, Stunting, Counseling

Abstract

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), bakteri yang resisten terhadap antibiotik b-laktam seperti methicillin, merupakan masalah klinis yang terus-menerus mempengaruhi seluruh dunia. Resistensi terjadi akibat adanya modifikasi struktural protein pengikat penisilin (PBP)2a bakteri MRSA. Flavonoid adalah salah satu senyawa aktif terpenting yang secara alami terdapat pada tanaman. Beberapa flavonoid telah terbukti memiliki sifat antibakteri pada penelitian sebelumnya. Penambatan molekul (Molecular Docking) merupakan salah satu metode in silico (virtual) berbasis struktur yang paling sering digunakan dan paling sederhana. Tujuan dari review jurnal untuk mengetahui senyawa turunan flavonoid pada tanaman obat yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai pengobatan antibakteri terhadap  bakteri MRSA berdasarkan dari beberapa studi secara in-silico. Metode pencarian jurnal dilakukan melalui website https://scholar.google.co.id/ dan Pubmed dengan menggunakan kata kunci Molecular Docking Flavonoid Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Hasil yang didapat adalah dari 31 senyawa aktif turunan flavonoid  yang berpotensi menghambat reseptor PBP2a bakteri MRSA. Pada PDB ID IMWT didapatkan senyawa terbaik Diferulic acid memiliki nilai binding affinity sebesar  -102.4,  pada PDB ID 1VQQ didapatkan senyawa terbaik Hesperidin memiliki nilai binding affinity sebesar -9.2 dan pada PDB ID 4DKI didapatkan senyawa terbaik Quercetin 3-O-rutinoside  memiliki nilai binding affinity sebesar -91.56. Kata kunci : Molecular Docking , Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Flavonoid.

Abstract

Stunting pada balita berdampak besar pada kesehatan anak saat ini dan di masa mendatang. Faktor penyebab stunting antara lain pekerjaan ibu, tinggi badan ayah dan ibu, pendapatan keluarga, jumlah anggota keluarga, pola asuh, dan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Posyandu di RT 01 RW 12 di Desa Cinunuk memiliki kejadian stunting yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan RW lain di Desa Cinunuk. Permasalahan stunting yang dihadapi oleh mitra meliputi beberapa faktor penyebab, seperti latar belakang pendidikan mayoritas lulusan SMA dengan tingkat pengetahuan tentang gizi yang masih rendah, pekerjaan penduduk mayoritas mengurus rumah tangga dan buruh harian lepas. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan mitra melalui penyuluhan terkait pencegahan stunting pada balita, dengan tujuan agar masyarakat khususnya ibu yang memiliki balita memahami pentingnya pencegahan stunting dengan pemantauan tumbuh kembang yang dilakukan setiap bulan di Posyandu. Metpde yang dilakukan adalah dengan penyuluhan langsung pola asuh keluarga, memberdayakan kader PKK Desa dan RW, demonstrasi pemberian nutrisi serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan di RW 12 Kelurahan Cinunuk Kecamatan Cileunyi Kabupaten Bandung dengan tema Pendidikan Pendampingan Keluarga Dalam Upaya Mencegah Stunting pada Balita, dapat memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya pola asuh yang diberikan untuk memantau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita. pembangunan dalam upaya pencegahan stunting. . Stunting in toddlers has a major impact on children's health now and in the future. Factors causing stunting include mother's occupation, father's and mother's height, family income, number of family members, parenting style, and exclusive breastfeeding. One Posyandu in RT 01 RW 12 in Cinunuk village has a higher incidence of stunting compared to other RWs in Cinunuk village. The problems related to stunting faced by partners include several causal factors, such as the majority of education backgrounds were high school graduates, the majority of the population's work was taking care of the household and casual daily labourers. The program was carried out to answer partners' problems through counseling related to stunting prevention in toddlers, with the aim of the community, especially mothers with toddlers, to understand the importance of preventing stunting by monitoring growth and development which is carried out every month at the Posyandu. Community service that has been carried out in RW 12 Cinunuk Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, with the theme of Family Parenting Assistance Education in Efforts to Prevent Stunting in Toddlers, can provide an understanding of the importance of parenting given to monitoring toddler growth and development in an effort to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Curcuminoids such as curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC), and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) are the major bioactive components found in Curcuma species, including turmeric (Curcuma longa L.). Curcumin is a polyphenol that is used as an antioxidant. Various analytical methods have been developed for the detection of curcumin, each with its advantages and limitations. Selection of an appropriate analytical method is crucial for obtaining accurate results. Although critical reviews on the chemical, biological, and pharmacological properties of curcumin are widely available, reviews specifically focusing on the different analytical methods for curcumin are limited. This review article aims to provide an overview of several analytical methods for the determination of curcumin. This is expected to encourage readers to choose a suitable analytical method for their specific needs. The articles used in this review were sourced from international English-language publications obtained from Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The search was performed using keywords such as "Instrumental analysis of curcumin" and "Analytical techniques for curcumin analysis." The results reveal that spectrophotometric methods are simple techniques used to estimate curcumin content; however, their utility is limited to cases where the concentration of each curcuminoid is not a critical quality parameter. Accurate quantification and detection of trace amounts of curcuminoids and metabolites require the use of chromatographic separation methods combined with mass spectrometry detection (LC-MS/MS) because of their high accuracy, reproducibility, and sensitivity with low limits of detection (LOD) and lower limits of quantification (LLOQ). Abstract

The uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one area of the body can spread to other tissues and create more cancer cells, a disease known as cancer. Malignant cancer cells have the potential to become fatal. After cardiovascular disease, cancer is the second most common cause of mortality. Numerous cancer types exist, including stomach, liver, colorectal, lung, breast, and cervical cancers. More than 70% of cancer-related deaths occur in low- and middle-income nations, and the number of cancer-related deaths is predicted to rise steadily, hitting 11.5 million by 2030. Some of the resources utilized to look up information on curcumin's application as an anticancer agent are PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. Most of the articles that were used were published between 2013 and 2023, or within the last ten years. These journals were found using the following keywords: "Curcumin," "Cancer," "Curcumin as an Anticancer," and "Utilization of Curcumin as an Anticancer Agent." Scholars from many nations have conducted comparable investigations on the application of curcumin as an anticancer agent. Furthermore, it has been established that curcumin directly inhibits cancer cells when used as an anticancer drug. This suggests that curcumin does have anticancer properties. Abstract

Hair loss, or alopecia, is a common dermatological condition that affects up to 2% of the world's population. It is often caused by genetic factors, such as male or female pattern baldness, but can also be attributed to various environmental factors, an imbalanced diet, or chronic illnesses. While hair loss is not life-threatening, it can lead to significant anxiety, depression, and other psychological issues, ultimately affecting one's quality of life. Various treatments for baldness, including synthetic drugs like minoxidil and finasteride, or herbal remedies, have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Although synthetic drugs are effective, they may come with potential side effects. Natural remedies have been proposed as a viable option for treating baldness because many chronic disorders can lead to alopecia. Therefore, this review focuses on identifying efficient alternative treatment agents with limited side effects. Specifically, it considers medicinal plants as potential healing agents for treating baldness. To gather relevant information for this study, several databases were searched, including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Comprehensive searches were conducted using various search terms, such as "baldness," "alopecia," "natural remedies for baldness," "herbal treatment for baldness," and others, to extract relevant scientific articles. Many medicinal plants and natural compounds have shown potential for reducing baldness, thanks to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. According to existing literature, extracts of medicinal plants and formulations derived from plants, such as Eclipta alba (L.)
