Abstract

One of the components in the Tridharma of Higher Education is carrying out community service activities. Every lecturer has an obligation to carry out community service which aims to share the knowledge possessed to support the progress of society. Implementation of community service in this activity. This study aims to build the mentality of an entrepreneur in business competition to the level of sales of convection products in the South Tapanuli region. This service activity is also in line with government programs that encourage the progress of small and medium enterprises. The target of this activity is the community, business actors and employees at the Angkola Jaya Convection. This service program is carried out for 1 day (August 5, 2020). The method used is to provide training on the influence of electronic media on the marketing of products. The results of this service indicate that the participants are very enthusiastic in participating in the training so that they can build entrepreneurial mentality in facing business competition in their business.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on designing an IoT-based water quality monitoring and control system in freshwater fish ponds, which aims to produce a tool that is able to monitor and control water quality remotely in freshwater fish ponds, to find out how the tool works in monitoring and controlling water quality over long distances in freshwater fish ponds. This research was conducted by connecting several components, namely using Arduino Mega 2560, WiFi expansion shield, pH sensor, turbidity sensor, DS18B20 sensor, ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04, and two DC pumps. Each sensor is compared with the actual measuring instrument and has an average percentage of error, the pH sensor is compared three times, namely the pH buffer solution of 4.01 with an average error of 2.1%, in the pH 6.86 buffer solution the average error is 0.4 %, and in aquadest solution the average error is 0.7%, the turbidity sensor has an average error of 1.6%, and the DS18B20 sensor has an average error of 0.4%. It can be concluded that the designed tool has been successfully made, and works well, for monitoring it is displayed on the LCD and in the Blynk application, for controlling water can be done through the Blynk application by turning on and off the pump that has been made.

Abstract

Teknologi berkembang dengan pesat pada era sekarang, maka teknologi rumah pintar yang dikembangkan saat ini belum sepenuhnya mampu mendukung program konservasi energi yang dilakukan pemerintah. Sampe sekarang ini sistem kontrol untuk pengaturan rumah pintar masih dilakukan secara manual. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat alat sistem monitoring arus dan tegangan terhadap rumah pintar secara otomatis dan bisa dipantau dengan jarak jauh. Sistem rumah pintar ini yang dirancang dapat mengontrol nyalanya lampu atau peralatan elektronik lainnya dengan menggunakan NodeMCU yang sudah terintegrasi chip wi-fi agar dapat dikontrol oleh handpone asalkan ada akses jaringan internet di rumah pintar. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah metode rancang bangun alat, penelitian ini yang dirancang adalah perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak. Rumah pintar ini dapat mempermudah pengguna dalam mengontrol peralatan elektronik rumah pintar seperti kipas angin, setrika, dispenser, televisi, dan lampu sehingga bisa meminimalisirkan pemakaian tenaga listrik. Dari hasil penelitian dan pengujian perangkat elektronik rumah pintar yang dipasang beban listrik ke alat pemantauan dalam kurun 1jam dan dilakukan enam kali percobaan setiap 10 menit akan dicatat hasil pembacaanya yang ada di LCD. pada sistem monitoring ini sudah mampu berjalan dengan baik, mampu memberikan rekomendasi durasi maksimal untuk memakai peralatan elektronik dengan tingkat pengujian tegangan memilki deviasi rata-rata sebesar 0,5% dan pengujian arus memiliki deviasi rata-rata sebesar 0,1%.

Abstract

Increased noise caused by human and industrial activities can cause health problems, such as stress, affecting sleep quality, and having negative effects on long-term health, usually such as hearing problems, high blood pressure, and depression. This study aims to make a noise-measuring instrument, examine the comparison of the results of sound intensity level measurements, and examine the damping ability of polyurethane. The sensor used in this study is the FC-04 sound sensor which functions as a sound intensity level meter that works by changing the sound scale to an electrical quantity. The data that has been obtained is a comparison of the measurement results using the factory standard sound level meter (SLM) and an artificial noise measuring instrument which is analyzed using the calculation of the percent deviation. As for the measurement data of the damper material polyurethane before and after, analyzed using reduction effectiveness calculations. The results of measuring the sound intensity level using the factory standard SLM and an artificial noise meter obtained an average value of the sound intensity level of 72.67 dB and 67.77 dB. From the results of the two measuring instruments, the percentage deviation of the measuring instrument is 6.7% with minimum and maximum percentage deviation values of 3.1% and 11.7%. The results of the measurement of the reduction effectiveness value of the damper material polyurethane using factory standard SLM and artificial noise measurement tools of 14.7% and 14.8%.

Abstract

Garbage is one of the biggest problems faced by many cities in the world, the lack of awareness to dispose of waste in its place causes waste to scatter and pollute the surrounding environment. This research aims to design an automatic trash bin based on the Arduino microcontroller and to find out how the automatic trash can works with the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The design of this system uses Arduino Uno. The results of the input and output tests show that the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor has a low error rate of 1.2% at a distance of 25 cm and a high of 6% at a distance of 10 cm. The trash can opens the lid automatically at > 30 cm to detect the capacity of waste that has been disposed of into the trash container with a height of 20 cm., the proximity sensor will detect the type of waste being disposed of, and the LCD will display the type of waste that will be disposed of and the servo motor will activate the mechanical system of this device. If the trash can is full, a warning will be sent via the buzzer and the SIM800L GSM module via SMS. The working system of the automatic trash can as a whole can work well according to the design that has been made.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the plants that is widely cultivated in tropical countries such as Indonesia. Coffee plantation commodities at least contribute a lot to the Indonesian economy, which creates foreign exchange, farmer income, industrial raw materials, employment, and regional development. This research aims to design coffee bean dryer equipment using a heater as a heating element instead of sunlight for the process of drying coffee beans. When the temperature has reached 60°C, the heater will turn off briefly, and if the set time has not expired, the heater will always be alive. If the humidity does not decrease, the fan will fail. In this research, using experimental research procedures where each measurement is used effectively by each sensor so that the measurement results of each sensor are accurate. From the test results, it can be concluded that the initial weight before drying was 1000 grams, while the weight after drying was 880 grams.

Abstract

The problem that people often face, both at home and in public places, is noise that disturbs concentration and comfort. Noise can be measured by sound level measurement, namely by measuring the intensity or loudness of sound in hertz and sound waves in decibels (dB). Then noise can be reduced by materials that can absorb sound, one of which is glass wool. The purpose of this research is to make a noise-measuring instrument, find out the effectiveness of damping materials, and compare the results of measuring noise levels. The measuring instrument for noise in this study is the sound level meter (SLM) using a KY-037 sound sensor programmed with Arduino Uno as a microcontroller. The results of noise measurements using a factory standard SLM and noise measurement tool KY-037 obtained an average factory standard SLM measurement of 72.23 dB and the average measurement of the KY-037 noise meter is 67.67 dB. From the measurement results with the two tools, the difference in comparison is 4.56 dB with a percent deviation of 6,33%. Then the results of testing the glasswool sound-dampening material with a comparison of the two measuring devices obtained that each sound intensity absorption was 17.9 – 28.5 dB and the effectiveness of the reduction was 21.8% – 34.9%.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Lau Sigembura hot spring tour, STM Hilir sub-district, Deli Serdang district using the magnetic method. This study aims to determine. Subsurface structures and the distribution of magnetic anomalies which are geothermal manifestations. The number of measurement points is 50 with an area of ​​1000 square meters. Data acquisition was carried out using the PPM Model GEM System type GSM 19T.While data processing uses daily corrections and IGRF corrections as well as upward continuations. Modeling is done using Mag2DC software. The total magnetic field ranges from -900 nT to 500 nT based on the contour of the local magnetic anomaly, the variation in the value of the anomaly is around -1050 nT to 350 nT. While the quantitative interpretation indicates the presence sandstone rock with susceptibility value 0,1075 cgs, Andesit with susceptibility values 0,0183 cgs, limestone with a susceptibility value of 0.0001 cgs – 0.0021 cgs. And shales with susceptibility value 0,021 cgs.

Abstract

Jeruk madu merupakan tanaman yang banyak dibudidayakan di negara-negara yang memiliki iklim tropis, termasuk negara Indonesia. Salah satu daerah yang banyak membudidayakan jeruk madu itu terdapat di daerah Berastagi, Sumatera Utara. Untuk pemilahan buah jeruk madu yang akan diproduksi masih digunakan secara manual dengan bantuan manusia dan memakan banyak waktu. Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, maka diciptakanlah alat pemilah buah yang bisa membedakan warna, bentuk, ukuran dan berat. Dengan alat sortir buah yang berbasis arduino uno yang akan mengontrol sensor TCS3200, sensor Load Cell dan juga sensor Infrared, akan menghasilkan alat sortir buah jeruk madu yang akan memilah berdasarkan warna, massa dan menghitung jumlah buah yang disortir. Dimana jeruk madu yang akan disortir dengan alat ini memiliki 4 keadaan, yaitu jeruk madu hijau berat, jeruk madu hijau ringan, jeruk madu kuning berat dan jeruk madu kuning ringan. Hasil pembacaan dari pemilahan warna TCS3200 yang berupa nilai RGB dari setiap buah dan hasil pembacaan sensor load cell yang memiliki deviasi rata-rata sebesar 0,52%.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kecelakaan lalu lintas merupakan masalah keselamatan kerja yang serius di seluruh dunia, demikian juga dihadapi Indonesi. Data dari Kemenkes RI (2020) menunjukkan bahwa kejadian kecelakaan angkutan darat masuk ke dalam 10 besar penyakit penyebab rawat jalan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku K3 pada sopir angkutan umum di Kota Padangsidimpuan. Metode: Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan cross sectional study di area Terminal Penumpang Kota Padangsidimpuan selama bulan Juni-Oktober 2022. Populasi dan sampel adalah seluruh sopir angkutan umum dengan pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling sebanyak 112 orang. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner penelitian. Data dianalisis dengan analisis univariat, bivariat, multivariat dengan program SPSS dan uji regresi logistik. Hasil: Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pengetahuan (p=0,001), sikap (p=0,015), tindakan (p=0,032), persepsi (p=0,025) < 0,05 berhubungan dengan perilaku K3. Selain itu variabel yang paling berhubungan dengan perilaku K3 adalah pengetahuan dengan nilai p=0,007 dan nilai Exp. B=5,112. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan diperoleh bahwa perilaku K3 berkendaraan sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan, sikap, tindakan dan persepsi. Sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya meningkatkan promosi bahaya kecelakaan dan edukasi safety campaign penggunaan sabuk keselamatan bagi pengemudi.
