Abstract

Jagung memiliki rasa lezat dan banyak dibutuhkan masyarakat. Jagung ungu merupakan pangan fungsional yang memiliki manfaat bagi tubuh manusia. Produksi jagung ungu masih tergolong rendah. Upaya pengembangan jagung ungu diperlukan untuk peningkatan ketersediaan benih bermutu, salah satunya dengan induksi mutasi iradiasi sinar gamma 60Co. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari iradiasi sinar gamma 60Co terhadap penampilan karakter mutan (M1) tanaman jagung ungu pada dosis 100 Gy. Penelitian dilakukan bulan Oktober 2021-Januari 2022 di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode rancangan acak kelompok satu faktor dengan penanaman empat tanaman tiap satuan petak dan empat ulangan. Faktor penelitian meliputi galur mutan (M1) jagung ungu varietas Black aztec dosis 100 Gy radiasi sinar gamma 60Co. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis ragam yang dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ 5%. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh galur mutan (M1) jagung ungu terhadap keragaman karakter kuantitatif tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun di atas tongkol, indeks anakan, rebah batang, umur keluar bunga jantan, umur keluar bunga betina, tinggi kedudukan tongkol dan bobot 1000 butir.

Abstract

Peningkatan produktivias tanaman kentang dapat dilakukan dengan penyediaan bibit unggul yang bersertifikat seperti menggunakan metode perbanyakan secara kultur jaringan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah menganalisis Pengaruh Kombinasi Ekstrak Bawang Merah Dan Air Kelapa Terhadap Pertumbuhan In-Vitro Planlet Kentang (Solanum Tuberosum [L.] cv. Granola) Pada Media Murashige Dan Skoog (MS). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial Penelitian menggunakan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu pemberian ekstrak bawang merah menggunakan 4 taraf B0(kontrol), B1(20 g L-1), B2(30 g L-1), B3(40 G L-1) dan air kelapa menggunakan 4 taraf K0(kontrol), K1(50 ml L-1), K2(75 ml L-1) dan K3(100 ml L-1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi dengan kombinasi terbaik 20 g ekstrak bawang merah dan 50 ml air kelapa memberi pengaruh nyata pada perameter pertumbuhan panjang planlet dengan planlet kentang secara in vitro.

Abstract

Pakcoy plants have good potential to be cultivated. Land conversion causes a reduction in productive land so hydroponics is a solution to the problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of planting media types (firewood husk, cocopeat and rockwool) and AB Mix nutrient concentrations (1.000 ppm, 1.200 ppm and 1.400 ppm) on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants in hydroponic wick systems. This research was conducted in Mojokerto City using the Randomized Group Design method with 3 replications. The results of the treatment given that the type of planting media and AB Mix nutrient concentration, the treatment of cocopeat planting media type and AB Mix nutrient concentration of 1.200 ppm had an effect on plant height, number of leaves and fresh weight of pakcoy plant crowns.

Abstract

Kale is prospective for cultivation because they have a good market. In order to get optimal plant output when growing kale in a hydroponic system, care must be taken to employ AB Mix nutrients and specific planting media types. This study aim at obtaining the right combination of AB Mix nutrients and types of growing media on the yield and growth of Kale plants, which were grown on substrates hydroponic. The study was organized in a Randomized Complete Block Design, with three replicates and factorial arrangement. The first factor was the source of nutrition AB Mix i.e. Infarm, Growrich, and Purie Garden. The second factor was the type of planting media, including husk charcoal, cocopeat, and a mixture of cocopeat and husk charcoal (1:1). Results revealed that the combination treatment of AB Mix nutrients and types of growing media was statistically different on the leaf area.  The best combination was between charcoal and Infarm.  The source of nutrition AB Mix significantly affected plant growth parameters such as plant height, leaf area, and dry weight of root with Infarm was found to the best nutrient. The type of growing media did not significantly influence all the parameters observed. Interaction between the type of nutrient AB Mix and type of growing media on the leaf area parameter showed with the best result M2A2 (husk charcoal + Infarm) of 700,96 cm2 , but not significantly different from the other treatment. Keywords: AB Mix nutrient, Cocopeat, Husk charcoal, Kale

Abstract

Increasing the yield and quality of cayenne pepper can be obtained by expanding the size of the cayenne pepper fruit, while the size of the cayenne pepper fruit can be expanded through polyploidy mutation. The research aims to increase the size of the small fruit and plants of cayenne pepper. A single factor experiment was designed in a randomized block design which was repeated five times. The soaking colchicine solution treatment for cayenne pepper seeds consists of 0 ppm; 1 ppm; 5 ppm; and 1 ppm plus dripping colchicine on the shoot buds after the second leaf appeared; 5 ppm colchicine with dripping colchicine on the shoot buds after the second leaf appeared. The data recorded included morphological characters at the seedling and plant phases and then analyzed variance and honest significant difference tests using the Excel-Program. Results showed that the application of colchicine 1 and 5 ppm plus dripping colchicine on the shoot buds after the second leaf appeared were significantly different with no dripping colchicine on shoot buds in seedling height, seedling leaves number, and seedling leaves area. At the plant phase, the highest leaves area was obtained by application of colchicine 1 and 5 ppm without dripping at shoot buds and control (0 ppm) treatments, however highest diameter of fruits achieved by colchicine 1 and 5 ppm with dripping it at shoot buds and highest fruit number observed at no colchicine (control) treatment.

Abstract

Tissue culture is useful as a way to obtain seeds in large quantities of seedlings in a short time as an effort to preserve Bucephalandra sp. in nature. The use of PGR has problems such as expensive prices and difficult to find, therefore its use can be replaced by natural PGR that are easy to obtain and have relatively cheap prices such as coconut water. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Benzylaminopurine (BAP) and coconut water on the growth of Bucephalandra sp. in vitro. This research is a 2-factor factorial experiment using a completely randomized design. The factors are concentration of BAP (0; 1; 3; 5 mg/l) and concentration of coconut water (0; 50; 100 ml/l). The results showed Murashige and Skoog (MS) media with the addition of BAP 1 mg/l + coconut water 50 ml/l (4.11 shoots), BAP 5 mg/l + coconut water 50 ml/l (4.33 shoots), and BAP 3 mg/l (6.22 shoots) were able to provide the number of shoots with high results. The addition of coconut water did not affect the growth of Bucephalandra sp. MS media can grow shoots with the best results in measurements of shoot emergence time, number of roots, shoot and root length. Keywords: Aquatic plant, Endemic plant, Plant growth regulators, Tissue culture.

Abstract

Garlic is widely recognized for its culinary, industrial, and medicinal applications, attributed to its sulfur compounds and allicin, which contribute to its pungent taste and distinctive aroma. This study, conducted in Sajen Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto, from January to May 2024, aimed to evaluate the effects of Phonska NPK and silica fertilizers on garlic production. A factorial experimental design with two factors was employed using a Split-Plot Design within a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The main plots were treated with silica fertilizer at concentrations of 0 g/L, 5 g/L, 10 g/L, and 15 g/L, while the subplots received Phonska NPK fertilizer at rates of 0 kg/ha (control), 400 kg/ha, 600 kg/ha, and 800 kg/ha. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the HSD test at a 5% significance level. Results indicated that the combination of 0 g/L silica fertilizer and 800 kg/ha Phonska NPK fertilizer yielded the highest garlic production. Although the individual application of Phonska NPK fertilizer did not have a significant effect, the absence of silica fertilizer (0 g/L) significantly influenced leaf width and the development of generative structures. Keywords: Harvest, Nutrient, Potassium, Tuber size.
