Abstract

The study focuses on two PSI's political posters. It aims to analyze some political posters made for the campaign of the election. The posters were chosen randomly. The visual devices are analyzed using Kress and van Leeuwen’s model. A political discourse approach by van Leeuwen is adopted to identify the main discourse strategies to persuade people, especially young people, to vote in a specific way. The result shows that the posters use visual and linguistic strategies to convey a political discourse and to persuade the young audience to vote—the background of the posters, colors, body language, and facial expressions. The written text used in the poster is also effectively structured to represent the party’s ideologies and the candidate.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the skills of 12th-grade students at SMA Katolik Santa Agnes Surabaya in creating professional Curriculum Vitae (CV) and portfolios that meet the needs of the job industry and organizations. The training was conducted in response to the lack of understanding and skills among students in preparing documents that are both attractive and relevant for job applications and organizational purposes. The implementation of this activity involved an initial survey, material preparation, direct training, and student mentoring. During the training, students were introduced to techniques for creating CVs and portfolios, from determining the format to utilizing digital applications such as Canva and Microsoft Word. Additionally, students were provided with guidance on how to structure their CVs, include relevant information, and highlight skills and experiences. Mentoring sessions were also provided to assist students facing difficulties in using the applications or compiling their portfolios. The results of this activity showed an improvement in students' skills in preparing more professional CVs and portfolios. Students became more confident in preparing themselves for the job market with documents that meet industry standards. This training is expected to provide long-term benefits for students in various academic and professional contexts.Keywords: Curriculum Vitae, Portfolio, Training, Soft Skills, Digital Applications

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Klampis, Kecamatan Sukolilo, Surabaya, dengan tujuan menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha pada remaja dan ibu-ibu PKK untuk meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi mereka. Kegiatan ini meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan kewirausahaan, yang dirancang untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam perencanaan bisnis, strategi pemasaran, dan manajemen keuangan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta tentang kewirausahaan, kemampuan menyusun rencana bisnis, dan kepercayaan diri untuk memulai usaha. Produk-produk kewirausahaan yang dihasilkan selama pelatihan juga mendapat respons positif dari masyarakat sekitar, dan beberapa peserta berkomitmen untuk mengembangkan usaha mereka lebih lanjut. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini menegaskan pentingnya sosialisasi yang mendalam dan pendampingan berkelanjutan dalam upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui kewirausahaan.

Abstract

Free sex is one of the social phenomena in Pintu Khimbe Village that is very concerning. This problem is closely related to the role of parents as educators for their children, and among these roles is providing sexual education to children from an early age. The purpose of this research in this thesis is to determine the efforts and roles of parents in Pintu Khimbe Village in implementing sexual education for children, as well as the obstacles faced by parents in carrying out their roles. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The population of this study was 250 heads of families, and samples were taken randomly as much as 10% of the population, namely 25 parents. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques with 5 children, and questionnaires to 25 parents. Data from interview observations were analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed using a percentage formula. The results of the study that the author obtained were that the role of parents in children's sexual education in Pintu Khimbe Village was to provide sufficient religious education to children, provide moral education, provide education to reason, provide social education, and provide physical education. Parents' efforts in implementing children's sexual education are by controlling their children at school and outside of school, giving advice to children to want to live clean and healthy, teaching the boundaries of what is allowed and what is not allowed when in friendship. The obstacles faced by parents in implementing sexual education for children are the lack of free time with children, the inability to control the media watched by children and the lack of verbal ability in answering children's questions about "sensitive" issues that children should know.

Abstract

Elementary school-age children are very active so they prefer to play. Before starting the learning activities, the teacher designs a learning model that is interspersed with games so that the child can receive the material well and is not easily bored during the learning process. In other words, the activities carried out by children are more directed to the activities of playing and moving. One game that is loved and often played by children is hunting animals and baseball. The purpose of this study is to analyze: (1) studying and analyzing the effect of the application of animal hunting game learning models on locomotor and manipulative motion abilities. (2) to study and analyze the effect of the application of baseball game learning models to increase locomotor and manipulative motion skills. (3) to find out, study and analyze the effect of learning based on game hunting animals and baseball to increase locomotor and manipulative mobility. This type of research used in this study is quantitative with a research design using a two-group pre-test post-test design, with data analysis using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The results showed: (1) there was an effect of the application of animal hunting games to locomotor and manipulative mobility. (2) there is an effect of the application of baseball games on locomotor and manipulative motion abilities. (3) in an animal hunting game, the locomotor base motion has an increase of 2.17 and manipulative motion has an increase of 5.1. In a baseball game, the locomotor base motion has an increase of 1.5 and manipulative base motion has an increase of 3.77. Based on the above analysis, it can be concluded that there is an increase in locomotor and manipulative movement abilities for each group after being given a game. Also, there are differences in influence between the animal hunting group and the baseball group as seen from the increase in locomotor motion through independent sample t-test where the game of animal hunting gives a better effect than the game of baseball.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulya merupakan salah satu Pondok Pesantren Tradisional yang berada di Kota Metro. Letaknya yang berada di dekat kawasan Pendidikan Kota Metro membuat para siswa maupun mahasiswa yang berada dekat dengan Pondok ini tertarik untuk menimba ilmu agama di Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulya ini. Dalam penilitian ini penulis mengkaji beberapa faktor pendorong mahasiswa untuk masuk ke Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulya ini dari beberapa perspektif ilmu-ilmu sosial, yang diantaranya adalah ilmu sejarah, ilmu geografi, ilmu sosiologi, dan ilmu ekonomi.
