Abstract

The customary practice of suran in Traji Village serves as a traditional means of welcoming the Javanese New Year, which typically occurs during the month of Suro, corresponding to the 1st of Muharram in the Hijri calendar. The Sendang Sidhukun tourist site in Traji Village features a customary bridal procession ritual conducted for the benefit of rice fields. This location serves as a vital source of irrigation for farmers in Traji Village. This tradition imparts its own charm to the tourism industry in Sendang Sidhukun. This study utilized a qualitative research methodology using a case-study approach. The results of this study show that the Suran tradition in Traji Village has been practiced continuously since antiquity and has been transmitted from one generation to the next. This tradition started to thrive with the emergence of a water source in 1443, now known as Sendang Sidhukun. This tradition has contributed to the development of Sendang Sidhukun as a tourist destination. As a result, both the community and village administration employ the suran tradition as a tourist attraction, emphasizing the singularity of Javanese customs in terms of attire, rituals, and shadow puppet performances.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of pluralism through narrative texts. This research is a classroom action research conducted on students of class XI IPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Sigaluh, Banjarnegara Regency, totaling 34 students. The level of students' understanding of pluralism was measured using a questionnaire. In addition, to strengthen the implementation of narrative texts in the classroom, the researchers conducted observations and interviews. The results of the research before the action were known that 23% of students had a low level of understanding of pluralism, 29% was sufficient, 41% was good, and only 7% or 2 students were in the high category. Furthermore, the questionnaire analysis in cycle 1 showed that students' understanding of pluralism increased significantly where there were no more (0%) students who had a low level of understanding of pluralism, 35% of students had a level of understanding of pluralism that was sufficient, 48% was good, and 17% was high. Furthermore, significant changes occurred in cycle 2 where 8% of students still have a sufficient level of understanding of pluralism, 64% are good, and 26% are high. The increase is inseparable from social values in the form of understanding related to friendship, unity, mutual respect, respect and care for each other which are contained in the various narrative texts given.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran objek wisata Candi Borobudur dalam masyarakat umat Buddha di Jawa Tengah. Candi Borobudur merupakan perwujudan dari simbol agama Buddha. Pemilihan daerah wisata Candi Borobudur sebagai objek penelitian dikarenakan masyarakat umat Buddha belum memahami peran dari candi Borobudur untuk umat Buddha itu sendiri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Tehnik keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah peran Candi Borobudur bagi umat Buddha di Jawa Tengah antara lain sebagai pusata spiritual dimana setiap tahunnya umat Buddha melaksanakan ritual dan meditasi di candi untuk memperkuat praktik keagamannya, warisan budaya yaitu Borobudur merupakan salah satu wariasn dunia yang menjadi symbol umat Buddha serta mampu memperkuat rasa kebanggaan akan warisan budaya dan pendidikan yaitu Candi Borobudur merupakan lading ilmu pengetahuan yang dapat dipelajari dengan memahami relief dan arsitertur candi tersebut.

Abstract

The minimum quality of instructional media which is completed with appropriate teaching method on Buddhist religious education subject impacts towards students’ learning achievement.  This study aims to create and analyze the validity and feasibility of interactive audio-visual learning media based on VCT which focuses on material about Buddhist temples in Indonesia. The method used in this study is the research and development method by using ADDIE model. Data collection techniques were by giving questionnaires to media experts, material experts, teachers and students. Data analysis used was descriptive percentage and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study indicate the instructional media is very feasible to use which can be seen from the questionnaire analysis with an average score of validation results by material experts is 82,5% which is included into very feasible, the results of media validation by media experts is 82,5% which is included into very feasible, the response of teachers towards instructional media compiled is 86,6% which is included into very feasible, and final result among 29 students response towards the media shows 25 students (86%) declare that the insructional media is very feasible meanwhile the rest 4 students (14%) argue that the media is feasible. In conclusion the learning media compiled are valid and very feasible to use in teaching Buddhist education about Buddhist temples in Indonesia.
