Abstract

PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak di bidang produksi pembuatan benang. Salah satu produk yang dihasilkan yaitu benang P100 (Polyester 100%). Permasalahan yang dihadapi perusahaan adalah berlebihnya target produksi disebabkan karena adanya aktivitas yang tidak bernilai tambah (waste). Untuk itu digunakan pendekatan lean manufacturing untuk mengurangi waste pada proses produksi benang ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah Waste Assessment Model (WAM) untuk mengidentifikasi waste yang dominan pada proses pembuatan benang P100 (Polyester 100%) dan Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) untuk memilih detail mapping tools. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan, diperoleh waste yang paling dominan adalah overproduction, inventory, dan motion. Rekomendasi perbaikan yang diberikan yaitu penambahan alat bantu (handtruck) pada pengambilan sliver di proses drawing , penambahan operator pada proses winding, melakukan forecasting untuk mengurangi waste overproduction, menerapkan metode pengendalian persediaan untuk mengurangi waste inventory, dan melakukan penukaran tata letak ruang QC dengan ruang shift untuk mengurangi waste motion. Hasil evaluasi rekomendasi diperoleh penurunan lead time dari 133,13 menit menjadi 115,13 menit dan usulan perbaikan ini meningkatkan nilai PCE dari 48,85% menjadi 56,46%. Kata kunci  : Lean Manufacturing, Waste, WAM , VALSAT ,  Lead Time, PCE

Abstract

Improvement of Textile Industry system design with Six Sigma and FMEA to improve process quality. Six Sigma is a method of continuous quality improvement, by minimizing the number of defects. FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) tool is used to help determine the appropriate action, eliminating priority failure modes. The next step to improve to determine the most influential factor to the occurrence of color defects, so that the influence of the interference factor is minimum. If the control function is carried out and the factors causing the defect do not appear again there will be an increase in sigma value. FMEA analysis results obtained by machine temperature and material factors that most influence the occurrence of color defects, with RPN values of 210 and 120 respectively, the Six Sigma calculation results an increase in sigma value from initial conditions of 3.78 sigma to 4.93 sigma, or an increase in process capability of 1.15 sigma. Proposed improvements with DOE so that color defects do not appear are suggested by setting the thermosol engine temperature control device and mixing the optimized NaCl. Abstract

Increasing the efficiency of closet products in sanitary ceramic companies by implementing lean manufacturing to increase company competition. The identification of problems found waste in the process of making the closet, namely the dominant waste of inventory (21.81%), overproduction (20.21%), and motion (18.87%). Resolving the types of waste in order to increase the efficiency of the process, the process of mapping tools is carried out to determine the type of tools that are in accordance with the dominant problem, obtained are process activity mapping (PAM) and supply chain response matrix (SCRM). Proposals for improvements that can be made to increase process efficiency are the addition of operator aids for reducing waste motion, drying time efficiency by adding a drying device at the bottom of storage. Inventory waste can be minimized by implementing a warehouse system using the FIFO method and forecasting production targets to handle overproduction. The increase in process cycle efficiency (PCE) was obtained by 3.15%.

Abstract

This paper describes how to make films using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and nanofiber cellulose (NFC). In this study, different NFC and PVA ratios were varied. To achieve ideal condition during the film making process, several characteristics, including as density and viscosity, have been investigated using Taguchi method. The results showed two main outcomes. To obtain optimal viscosity, the NFC/PVA ratio factor is 5/95, the volume/volume ratio is 10%, and the sonication time is 7 minutes. For optimal density, several conditions can be used, including a NFC/PVA ratio of 10/90, volume/volume ratio of 3%, and a sonication time of 5 minutes. The experimental results confirmed the average viscosity response of 129.99 ± 13.33 and the S/N ratio of -42.64 ± 0.56. The experimental results of the Taguchi method were -42.64 ± 0.56 and the S/N ratio was -42.92 ± 0.67. Meanwhile, the response data for the Taguchi methodal density averaged at 1.042 ± 0.013 and the S/N ratio was -0.365 ± 0.104. For the results of the experimental condition were 1.126 ± 0.015 and the S/N ratio of -1.031 ± 0.124.From these data, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the average and variability which indicates that the blending process is getting better with the use of NFC.

Abstract

Every manufacturing company generally aims to achieve the highest product quality to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain market competitiveness. PT. XYZ, a Japanese company specializing in automotive lighting and located in Tangerang Regency, Banten, faces challenges in maintaining production quality, particularly in its main product— motor vehicle lamps. The production process includes injection molding, aluminum metalizing, and assembly. However, defective products, especially those with weld line defects, remain a recurring issue, impacting production efficiency in terms of cost and time. During several months, a total of 588 defective products were recorded out of 148,526 units. This study observed a defect rate of 34% (200 units), which significantly exceeds the company’s quality target of a 2% defect rate. To address this, a structured quality improvement effort is necessary. This research applies the Six Sigma methodology as a quality control tool to identify, analyze, and minimize product defects. The objectives of this study are to provide a general overview of PT. Indonesia Stanley Electric, identify types of product defects, calculate the Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO), and propose strategies to achieve zero defect targets. Through this approach, the company is expected to continuously improve product quality in a more efficient and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The Junior Data Scientist Workshop, conducted on August 25, 2024, was designed to introduce participants to foundational concepts in Data Science and essential data analysis tools, with a focus on the Orange platform. Five students with a keen interest in data science attended the event. The workshop utilized a blend of theoretical instruction and practical application, guiding participants through key processes such as data cleaning, statistical analysis, and data visualization. Post-workshop evaluations indicate that 85% of participants demonstrated a marked improvement in their understanding of Data Science concepts and methods. Despite the participants’ successful application of analysis techniques, several challenges were noted in comprehending complex statistical principles, suggesting a potential benefit from supplementary instructional sessions. This workshop has contributed significantly to advancing participants’ data literacy and analytical competencies, equipping them with critical skills essential for data-driven decision-making

Abstract

Perubahan pola hidup masyarakat saat ini dengan kesibukan beraktivitas rutin diluar rumah, akan cendrung untuk membeli jasa untuk kegiatan londry. Fenomena ini membuka peluang usaha londry sepatu yang menjanjikan. Persaingan industri londry sepatu semakin ketat, menuntut perusahaan shoeLifee harus selalu melakukan perbaikan proses dan pelayanannya untuk memenangkan pangsa pasar. Perusahaan harus bersetrategi disamping menjaga mutu produk, pelayanan prima serta harus mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, serta promosi yang optimal dengan berbagai media. Tujuan penelitian adalah pengukur kepuasan pelanggan pada ShoeLiffe. Pengukuran kepuasan konsumen untukmenguji pengaruh service quality dari variabel reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy dan responsivinees terhadap variabel customer satisfaction. Hasil menunjukkan variable Assurance dan Empathy memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan konsumen. Variabel Responsivinees, Reliability dan Tangibles tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan konsumen.Keseluruhan hasil pengukuran kepuasan konsumen bahwa diperoleh nilai variabel Responsiviness: 0,093, Reliability:-0,144, Tangibles: 0,071, Assurance: 0,421 dan Empathy: 0,338 terhadap layanan jasa cuci sepatu ShoeLifee.

Abstract

In the increasingly competitive industrial sector today, companies must strive to meet and maintain customer needs. PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company focused on cable production, one of which is the NYM 2 x 1.5 mm product, which has defects in its production process. To identify the factors causing product defects, a production quality control analysis is used. Six Sigma is a quality control tool that can measure the performance level of industrial systems, allowing for corrective actions to be taken. In its implementation, Six Sigma follows the DMAIC steps (Define, Measure, Analyze, and Improve). Meanwhile, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) is used to identify potential failures and the RPN values. Based on the analysis using the Pareto diagram, three priority defect types were identified: 21% for bulging cables, 18% for frayed cables, and 17% for rough surfaces. The FMEA results showed the highest RPN value for bulging cables due to poor material quality, for frayed cables due to machine errors, and for rough surfaces due to unstable material temperature. Recommended improvements based on the highest RPN results to reduce product defects include using lubricant on the nipple part to mitigate the effects of poor material, conducting regular machine inspections and repairs to address machine errors, and performing strict checks and tests on incoming materials to resolve unstable temperature issues.

Abstract

PT Dharma Power Ace Multipurpose Vehicles menghasilkan produk motor roda tiga multi porpuse (MP) yang mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2019. Produk tersebut banyak diminati konsumen Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) di Indonesia karena dapat digunakan sebagai alat transportasi industry kecil. Meskipun banyak diminati, berdasar penelitian pendahuluan ditemukan beberapa atribut kualitas yang masih perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui atribut yang perlu diperbaiki untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk MP, sehinggga dapat bersaing dengan produk pesaing tetapi secara teknis masih feasibel. Dalam kaitan ini perlu diperhatikan persepsi/harapan konsumen guna menentukan prioritas perbaikan. Pengamatan dilakukan pada perioda Oktober 2021-Desember 2021 dengan sampel 100 pengguna. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, brainstorming dan kuesioner. Hasil pengumpulan data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Service Quality (SERVQUAL), Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) dan Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Hasil SERVQUAL menunjukkan terdapat gap negatif (Gap = -0.37) yang menandakan bahwa kualitas produk MP di bawah ekspektasi pengguna. Temuan IPA menunjukkan sebanyak 3 atribut terletak pada kuadran I (maintain priority) dan 7 atribut terletak pada kuadran II (maintain achievement). Dengan memperhatikan atribut-atribut tersebut, juga aspek teknis serta produk pesaing, dihasilkan leverage factor yang menjadi strategi untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk MP yaitu: penambahan komponen baru, memperbaiki model produk, merencanakan ulang pengaturan komponen.
