Abstract

ABSTRACT Population of fruit caterpillar (Helicoperva armigera) on tomato plants can reduce yield. In the area of Kampung Batu Danau Kembar District of Solok is the most widely caterpillars cause damage to tomato plants. Based on the data obtained from the UPTD Kampung Batu District of Solok, in 2013 stated that in 2011 the production of tomatoes in the amount of 85.46 tons and declined in 2012 to 69.16 tons. In connection with the matter, has done research on population density Helicoperva armigera (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) on tomato plants in Kampung Batu Danau Kembar District of Solok which aims to determine the population density Helicoperva armigera on tomato plants in Kampung Batu Danau Kembar District of Solok.The study started from August to September 2013 with a descriptive survey method is by way of direct collection of the Helicoperva armigera larvae at the site of research. Field sampling was conducted on tomato plants age of 3 months and 4 months after planting. Physical environmental factors measured are temperature and humidity. Widely used as a study area of about 30 x 20 m. From the research that has been conducted in Kampung Batu Danau Kembar District of Solok acquired traits Helicoperva armigera found on tomato plants in Kampung Batu Danau Kembar District of Solok are long of caterpillar that is found at the age of 3 months and 4 months ranged from 1.5 cm to 3 cm, color of caterpillars were found ranging from yellow-green to brown. The highest population density of fruit caterpillar on tomato plants aged 3 months after planting is 5.40 individual/stem, while the lowest population density of fruit caterpillars on tomato plants aged 4 months after planting is 2.70 individual/stem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis wacana negosiasi dalam konteks layanan digital marketing di era digital, menggunakan teks negosiasi antara klien dan penyedia jasa sebagai studi kasus. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah teori Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK), yang menyoroti struktur bahasa, strategi komunikasi, dan dinamika kekuasaan dalam proses tawar-menawar. Melalui analisis ini, ditemukan bahwa negosiasi dalam konteks bisnis digital cenderung didominasi oleh strategi persuasi, kompromi, dan fleksibilitas dari kedua pihak. Penyedia jasa menggunakan pendekatan komunikatif yang menekankan pada penyesuaian layanan terhadap anggaran klien, sementara klien memanfaatkan peluang untuk negosiasi kontrak jangka pendek sebagai bentuk mitigasi risiko. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa negosiasi di era digital, terutama dalam jasa berbasis teknologi, memerlukan penyeimbangan antara penawaran jasa yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan klien dan kemampuan finansial mereka.

Abstract

Abstrak: Menulis puisi merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang diajarkan di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Sumatera Utara dalam rangka mengembangkan kreativitas dan ekspresi siswa. Namun, dalam praktiknya, siswa masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam menulis puisi, baik dari segi pemahaman unsur-unsur puisi, eksplorasi imajinasi, maupun teknik penulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa dalam menulis puisi dengan meninjau faktor-faktor seperti minat, pemahaman teori, ketersediaan bahan ajar, serta peran guru dan lingkungan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas siswa SMA di Sumatera Utara yang dipilih secara purposive, sedangkan objek penelitian adalah kebutuhan dan tantangan dalam menulis puisi. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket guru, angket siswa, dan dokumentasi tugas-tugas siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki minat yang rendah dalam menulis puisi karena kurangnya pemahaman terhadap teori dan teknik menulis puisi. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya pengembangan bahan ajar yang lebih inovatif serta penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, pelatihan menulis kreatif yang lebih interaktif, serta peningkatan peran guru dalam membimbing siswa secara lebih aktif dalam menulis puisi.

Abstract

This study examines the use of folklore based on literary anthroecology in high school learning as a means to instill cultural values and environmental awareness among students. Literature serves not only as a source of reading but also as a medium to understand the interrelationship between humans, nature, and culture. Folklore from North Sumatra, such as the legends of Lake Toba, Sampuraga, and Batu Gantung, is closely connected to ecological aspects and local wisdom that can be applied in literature-based anthroecological learning. Employing a library research method with a descriptive approach, this study analyzes the interconnections between literature, culture, and ecology within folklore. The findings reveal that folklore holds not only aesthetic literary value but also reflects human interaction with nature while embodying social and cultural values that enrich students’ perspectives. Literature learning through an anthroecological approach can be implemented through critical discussions, contextual analyses, and ecology-based literacy projects. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly teachers’ limited capacity to apply anthroecological methods and the scarcity of appropriate learning resources. Hence, effective strategies such as the development of teaching modules, teacher training, and the integration of technology are required to optimize the implementation of this approach in high school literature education.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of Sigil and Lithium EPUB Reader as digital learning media in teaching expository texts to tenth-grade students at a senior high school in Medan. The central issue addressed in this research is the low level of students’ interest and comprehension of expository texts, largely due to the limited availability of interactive and engaging learning media. The study aims to examine the effectiveness of these two media in enhancing students’ comprehension of expository texts. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving two groups: an experimental class using Sigil and Lithium EPUB Reader, and a control class taught through conventional methods. Data were collected using pre-tests and post-tests on text comprehension, as well as student response questionnaires. The findings reveal that the experimental class demonstrated a significant improvement in comprehension compared to the control group. Furthermore, students expressed positive responses toward the use of Sigil and Lithium EPUB Reader, noting that the media were more engaging, interactive, and facilitated their understanding of text structure and linguistic features. Consequently, Sigil and Lithium EPUB Reader can serve as effective digital alternatives to improve the quality of expository text learning in senior high schools.
