Abstract

Abstract Compensation programs need to be aligned with organizational policies and objectives. This article is a literature review on employee compensation programs in support of organizational policies and goals. Organizations can use a combination of fixed-variable compensation, direct-indirect compensation according to organizational goals. Fixed compensation is more appropriate for routine work, whereas variable compensation is more appropriate for behavioral incentives and performance-based management. The amount of direct compensation will provide autonomy for employees in spending their family needs, however, it does not guarantee employees to allocate it, such as for: education and training costs, sports, health insurance, old age insurance, recreation. These costs are more suitable for indirect compensation. Organizations can consider the amount of compensation both in planning, evaluation through several factors, namely internal employees, organizational environment, and external environment. Keyword: planning program, compensation, fixed-variable compensation, and organization.

Abstract

Mushroom poisoning remains a significant public health concern due to the morphological similarities between edible and poisonous species, making traditional identification unreliable. This study aims to develop an accurate and interpretable machine learning framework for mushroom toxicity prediction using a Bayesian-Optimized Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model. The dataset consists of morphological and ecological features derived from the secondary mushroom dataset, which underwent preprocessing through imputation, standardization, and one-hot encoding. Bayesian Optimization, implemented via the Hyperopt Tree-structured Parzen Estimator (TPE) algorithm, was employed to automatically fine-tune the XGBoost hyperparameters, thereby improving convergence and reducing manual experimentation. The model’s performance was evaluated using 10-fold cross-validation and standard metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and the Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC). Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed framework achieved an exceptionally high performance with an accuracy of 99.99% and an AUC of 1.0000, indicating near-perfect discrimination between edible and poisonous mushrooms. Feature importance analysis further revealed that habitat, veil color, and stem root were the most influential predictors of toxicity. The findings highlight the effectiveness of Bayesian-optimized ensemble learning in handling high-dimensional biological data, offering a reliable, transparent, and computationally efficient approach for biosafety assessment and ecological data analysis.

Abstract

Purpose: The development of information technology today is encouraging various significant changes in human life, including in the world of business and business. Design/methodology/approach: Used a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Qualitative research is intended to understand phenomena related to what is experienced by research subjects, such as behavior, perceptions, motivations, and actions in a holistic manner. Findings: Buying and selling transactions that used to be conventional with physical stores and a face to face system have now changed to digital or online based with a screen to face system. More and more businesses are providing products and services online without having to have a physical shop like conventional businesses in general. An online-based shop, also known as an online shop, is a business where consumers can buy products or services through an internet-based application or platform, without having to come to the shop and transact directly with the seller. However, online product and service transactions, especially online shops on social media (not via marketplace platforms) require the establishment of mutual trust between buyers and sellers. This condition is a challenge for online shops to be able to create a good brand image in order to gain the trust of consumers, thereby creating brand awareness. Therefore, in an effort to increase product sales, brand awareness is needed from consumers, so that business people can respond to market needs according to current developments and continue to survive in the midst of increasingly competitive business competition. Abstract

This research aims to examine the factors that influence procrastination among education staff at a university. The research used mono methods: quantitative method, survey strategy, and cross-sectional research design. The data were collected by questionnaires distributed offline and online via Google Forms to 145 education staff at a state university in Yogyakarta. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling equation based on Partial Least Square (SEM PLS). The research found that achievement motivation and organizational commitment influence procrastination directly and through the mediation of fulfilling the psychological contract. Meanwhile, job satisfaction does not significantly affect procrastination, nor does it mediate the influence of achievement motivation and organizational commitment on procrastination. The research results were then discussed according to the characteristics of organizations in the public sector in higher education.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology increases the complexity of cyber threats, which are now increasingly sophisticated and organised, targeting individuals, enterprises and critical infrastructure. Therefore, an information security system capable of automatically detecting and responding to threats is an urgent need. This research aims to examine the implementation of Extended Detection and Response (XDR) in the Security Operation Centre (SOC) and Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to improve the effectiveness of information security systems. The method used is experimental with testing in a controlled environment using Wazuh as the XDR platform. This study analyses how XDR collects, analyses and responds to log data in real-time to detect threats more accurately. The results show that XDR is able to improve threat detection by integrating logs from multiple sources, including endpoints, networks, and cloud services, and automating incident mitigation for faster response. The integration of Machine Learning in XDR is also proven to improve attack detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and speed up incident analysis. In conclusion, XDR is a comprehensive solution for modern information security systems, especially in the context of SOC and CSIRT, with its capabilities in detection-based analytics, multi-source data correlation, and automated response to threats. Based on this test, the efficiency of XDR in detecting and mitigating malware attacks is 98.3% using up to 60 malware and respons time under 10 second. Therefore, the implementation of XDR is recommended for organisations looking to enhance their security systems in a more adaptive and proactive manner in the face of evolving cyber threats.
