Abstract

The objective of this research was to see the influence of betaine supplementation on some of blood lipid and protein parameters in laying quails. The research used four treatments based on completely randomized design. Each treatment was replicated five times with seventeen quails each.The treatments used 340 quails aged 4 weeks with average weigh 98.31±8.67 grams. The supplementation levels of betaine were 0 (control); 0.07; 0.14 and 0.21%. Twenty quails aged 14 weeks were taken from each replicate to determine blood lipid and protein. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and if there was an effect of treatment, then it was analyzed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that betaine supplementation at level 0.14% resulted higher level of low density lipoprotein compared with the other treatments. It could be concluded that betaine supplementation at 0.14% resulted higher concentration of low density lipoprotein than control.Key words: quail, betaine, blood lipid, blood protein

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to investigate the efficacy of methyl groups donor of betaine to spare methionine based on performance and carcass in broiler chickens. In total, 100 day old broiler chickenss were used in this experiment. They were allocated to 4 dieaty treatmants in 5 replicates with 5 broilers each. The basal diet was deficient in methionine. The control diet was obtained from basal diet supplemented with methionine to meet the requirements 5 g/kg diet for starter period and 3.8 g/kg diet for finisher period. The rest 3 treatments were basal diet deficient in methionine supplemented with 1, 2 and 3 g betaine per kg diet. The variables that were observed included average daily gain and carcass characteristics. The data were than analyzed by analysis of variance of Completely Randomized Design and continued with Dunnet test. The result indicated that supplementation of 1 and 2 g betaine per kg diet deficient in methionine resulted the broiler performance which was not different with supplementation of methionine. Accordingly, carcass characteristics for broilers fed diet supplemented with methionine were not different with that supplemented with betaine, which indicated that betaine may reduce the methionine level in the broiler diet. It can be concluded that betaine spares metionine in broiler diets.

Abstract

The lack of innovation and creativity causes many tourist destinations during this pandemic to have no distinction from other tourist destinations. Though there are many opportunities from the village that can be developed and then integrated between each other to support the peculiarities of a region. The same is true of PuntukrejoVillage. Puntukrejo Village which is the main access to the entrance to Ngargoyoso District offers a variety of natural and cultural tourist destinations. Puntukrejo village has one of the preferred tourist destinations, namely The Lawu Fresh which is an agrotourism pioneer cultivating dekopon oranges, honey gourds, bottled pumpkins, and vegetables. However, since the pandemic, the number of tourist visits at The Lawu Fresh has dropped dramatically. This is due to the lack of innovation made by the village in developing the tourist village. Therefore, the service team in collaboration with partner villages aims to make creative tourism innovations in the form of Educative and Creative Camping with the concept of Indian Night, improve the marketing system of Puntukrejo Village's Flagship MSME products, and realize the existence of MSMEs with dual roles as production centers and destinations in the Jeep Adventure travel package series. The method of community empowerment used in this devotional activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Methods that apply the active role of partner villages together with service teams in developing village potential. The result of this devotion is the rise of community skills in marketing tourist attractions and MSME products owned by the village through various social media such as Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and Youtube. This skill increase goes hand in hand with the increasing number of tourists who come to village tourist attractions, as well as also buying village MSME products.

Abstract

Bongkotan Hamlet is the smallest hamlet located in Bojasari Village, Kertek District, Wonosobo Regency. In this place there is a site of Bongkotan Temple which is the legacy of the Syailendra Dynasty. Unfortunately, this rich history has not been managed optimally. Seeing this condition, Sigit Budi Martono along with creative activists in Bongkotan Hamlet invited the community to participate in reviving the tourism potential. The idea was initiated by creating the Kumandang Market located on Bongkotan hill, just across the Bongkotan Temple site area. It is intended that the existence of temple sites and village markets can be mutually integrated so that it can attract tourists to visit. Finally, after going through a preparatory process involving the local community, the official Kumandang Market was held on June 24, 2018 by utilizing the momentum of the Eid Mubarak holiday. Until now, the Kumandang Market has been held 18 times with the number of visitors increasing every week. This shows the existence of community participation in the development of the Kumandang Market. Based on the results of the study, community participation in the development of the Kumandang Market is indicated by the participation in decision making in Kumandang Market planning, participation in the implementation of the Kumandang Market, participation in taking utility of Kumandang Market, and participation in evaluating the Kumandang Market.

Abstract

The population of Indonesia is very large, which is 270.2 million people and the level of public awareness in consuming organic rice is getting higher, so it can be said to be a pretty good business prospect. This is an attraction to conduct a deeper and broader study of the organic rice business model that can be developed. The organic rice business at this time has not been widely seen by most farmers, this is due to the lack of knowledge of farmers in managing organic rice businesses and still lack of support from supporting institutions in developing this organic rice business. Therefore, there needs to be a special study of the organic rice business model which hopes to be a reference to the knowledge, replication and development of organic rice businesses of farmers in the future. The problems that will be examined are as follows: 1) How the existing organic rice business model, 2) How the capacity of the organic rice business in generating existing profits, 3) How the new organic rice business model is based on the results of the company's SWOT review at this time. Therefore the specific purpose of the research to be implemented is 1) Identifying existing organic rice business models using canvas business model approaches, 2) Identifying organic rice business capacity in generating profits using potter value chain approach, 3) Creating a new organic rice business model using canvas business model approach. This research approach used is qualitative descriptive research with case study methods. The research site was conducted at the Appoli Boyolali cooperative. The types of data needed are primary data and skunder with data collection techniques are document studies, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and observations. Data sources come from documents, objects, events and sources / informants. Resource /informant selection technique by purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data analysis technique in this study uses descriptive analysis techniques, namely by describing the nine elements of the Business Model Canvas, evaluation using SWOTs analysis as well as Porter value chain analysis. Based on the research that has been carried out obtained the following conclusions 1) the organic rice business model that now exists is quite good but still needs to be refined again. Some of the disadvantages are customer segments that have not been clearly defined, value propositions that have not been adequately branded, how to build relationships that have not been holistic, key activities that are not complete, governments that have not been intensively involved, and revenue streams that have not varied. 2) Business capacity measured based on porter value chain also shows that business capacity in generating margin still needs to be increased again. Both the main and supporting activities still need to be improved even though they cannot be done in a short period of time, 3). The new organic rice business model needs to be developed by APPOLI cooperatives by adding and correcting activities in the old business model with several strategies with reference to the utilization of the power they have to achieve existing opportunities.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effect of whole hatchery waste meal (WHWM) or shells hatchery waste meal (SHWM) in the ration on digestible nutrient and apparent metabolizable energy (AME). A total of 500 quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) 30 days with an average initial body weight of 94,7 ± 4,2 g were used. The research was designed to completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 5 replicates with 20 quails per replicate. The dietary treatments were: P0 = basal ration, P1 = 96% basal ration + 4% WHWM, P2 = 92% basal ration + 8% WHWM, P3 = 96% basal ration+ 4% SHWM and P4 = 92% basal ration + 8% SHWM. The commercial ration was fed to quails aged 30–39days. At the age of 40–42 days, quails were adapted to basal ration. The nutrient digestibility was measured using the total collection method after 2 × 28days of treatment. The data were analyzed using variance analysis and if there was a treatment effect, continued by orthogonal contrast test. The results showed that feeding WHWM or SHWM up to 8% increased the digestible crude fat and AME but did not increase digestible crude protein and dry matter. The digestible crude fat and AME of quails fed SHWM was higher than that of quails fed WHWM. Furthermore, the digestible crude fat of quails fed 8% WHWM was higher than that of quails 4%, but the opposite result was obtained for me. Feeding 8% SHWM generated a higher digestible crude fat than 4% SHWM.

Abstract

Abstract Segorogunung Village has a lot of potential that can be developed, especially in agricultural sector. Almost 76% of total area is agricultural land. One of the potential horticultural commodities in Segorogunung is chayote. Chayote production almost reaches 4.8 tons per year. However, most people only sell it in fresh. Than, chayote leaves have not been used optimally, eventhough they contain compounds that are beneficial for health. It is necessary to process chayote leaves into product that is not only beneficial for health but also economic benefits. For this reason, the team carried out community service activities in partnership with the Mawar Farmer Women’s Group by utilizing chayote leaves as a functional drink to increase profit margins. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). The stages of this activity consist of preparation, socialization, training, mentoring, production, digital platform creation, monitoring, and evaluation. The result of this program is a functional drink product made from chayote leaves produced in powder form. Besides being sold directly, this product is also marketed through the Shopee and Tokopedia marketplaces @seoju.segorogunung to expand market. The program is able to increase selling value of local chayote commodities so as to increase income generating of village. Abstrak Desa Segorogunung memiliki banyak potensi yang dapat dikembangkan, khususnya dalam sektor pertanian. Hampir 76% dari total keseluruhan wilayahnya merupakan lahan pertanian. Salah satu potensi komoditas hortikultura yang ada di Desa Segorogunung yaitu labu siam. Produksi labu siam di sana hampir mencapai 4,8 ton tiap tahunnya. Namun, sebagian besar masyarakat hanya menjualnya dalam bentuk segar ke tengkulak. Selain itu, daun labu siam belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, padahal didalamnya mengandung senyawa yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan. Perlu adanya pengolahan daun labu siam menjadi sebuah produk yang tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk kesehatan tetapi juga bermanfaat dari segi ekonomi. Untuk itu tim melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian bermitra dengan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Mawar dengan memanfaatkan daun labu siam sebagai minuman fungsional untuk meningkatkan margin keuntungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Tahapan kegiatan ini terdiri dari persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, produksi, pembuatan platform digital, monitoring, dan evaluasi program. Hasil dari program ini berupa produk minuman fungsional berbahan dasar daun labu siam yang diproduksi dalam bentuk serbuk. Selain dijual secara langsung, produk ini juga dipasarkan melalui marketplace Shopee dan Tokopedia @seoju.segorogunung untuk memperluas pasar. Adanya program pemberdayaan ini mampu menambah nilai jual komoditas lokal labu siam sehingga meningkatkan income generating Desa Segorogunung.

Abstract

Pink Miana plant (Coleus scuttelarioides) is a miana variety that is only cultivated in one of the tourism msmes The Lawu Fresh, Puntukrejo Ngargoyoso Village, Karanganyar, Central Java. This ornamental plant, which is famous for its unique leaf color, turns out to contain various substances such as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that are good for the body's immunity. However, the abundance of potential possessed by Miana is not balanced with the capabilities of the local community in its processing. Improper processing of Pink Miana can lead to reduced or loss of content of these substances if processed with too hot temperatures. The method used in solving these problems is controlled boiling. Controlled boiling is a method of boiling using low heat with regular temperature monitoring so as not to exceed the maximum temperature that the material can accept. The findings obtained are syrup products made from the first miana leaves "Pink Fresh" which contains high antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that are efficacious for the body's immunity. The purpose of making functional drinks based on miana is to provide an innovative variety of health drinks compared to those already on the market. The creation of functional beverage products based on miana "Pink Fresh" is expected to be a product supporting the body's immune system by implementing learning-based activities to utilize the potential of the village into a product with high economic value in order to achieve the economic empowerment of the village community. Young people are the main target market of the "Pink Fresh" product because of its taste innovation that is unlike other health drinks. Despite using a pre-order system, the first sales of the "Pink Fresh" product received rave reviews from consumers until it reached 70 bottles in the first order. Abstrak Tanaman Pink Miana (Coleus scuttelarioides) merupakan varietas miana yang hanya dibudidayakan di salah satu UMKM pariwisata The Lawu Fresh, Desa Puntukrejo Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah. Tanaman hias yang terkenal dengan keunikan warna daunnya ini ternyata mengandung berbagai zat seperti antioksidan serta antiinflamasi yang baik bagi imunitas tubuh. Akan tetapi, melimpahnya potensi yang dimiliki miana tidak diimbangi dengan kapabilitas masyarakat setempat dalam pengolahannya. Pengolahan Pink Miana yang kurang tepat dapat menyebabkan berkurang atau hilangnya kandungan zat- zat tersebut jika diolah dengan suhu yang terlalu panas. Metode yang digunakan dalam pemecahan permasalahan tersebut adalah controlled boiling. Controlled boiling merupakan metode merebus menggunakan api kecil dengan pengawasan suhu yang teratur agar tidak melampaui suhu maksimal yang dapat diterima bahan. Adapun hasil temuan yang diperoleh adalah produk sirup berbahan dasar daun miana pertama “Pink Fresh” yang mengandung antioksidan serta antiinflamasi tinggi yang berkhasiat bagi imunitas tubuh. Tujuan dari pembuatan minuman fungsional berbahan dasar miana adalah memberikan variasi minuman kesehatan yang inovatif dibandingkan yang telah ada di pasaran. Terciptanya produk minuman fungsional berbahan dasar miana “Pink Fresh” diharapkan dapat menjadi produk penunjang imun tubuh dengan penerapan kegiatan berbasis based learning untuk memanfaatkan potensi desa menjadi produk dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi guna mencapai keberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat desa. Kalangan muda menjadi target pasar utama dari produk “Pink Fresh” karena inovasi rasanya yang tidak seperti minuman kesehatan lainnya. Meskipun menggunakan sistem pre-order, penjualan pertama dari produk “Pink Fresh” mendapat sambutan hangat dari para konsumen hingga mencapai 70 botol dalam pesanan pertama.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor keberdayaan peternak kemitraan ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada perusahaan kemitraan PT Manyar Panda Mandiri Grup. Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling diperoleh 145 responden. Metode pengambilan data primer menggunakan kuesioner berbasis googleform dengan skala likert. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian faktor karakteristik usia peternak 31-40 tahun (39.31%), pendidikan SMA 77 orang (53.1%), Pengalaman beternak paling tinggi 5 tahun sebanyak 88 orang (60.69%). Jumlah kandang 1-2 kandang sebanyak 119 orang (82.07%) dan tipe kandang terbuka dengan jumlah 103 orang (71.03%). Pekerjaan pokok yaitu sebagai peternak sejumlah 107 orang (73.79%) dengan mayoritas pendapatan diatas 10.000.000 berjumlah 61 orang (42.07%). Lama bermitra mayoritas peternak adalah <3 periode dan >6 periode sejumlah 50 orang (34.48%). Pada variabel pernilaian technical service, variabel peran rata rata nilai 4,00, variabel kinerja rata rata 3,92 serta variabel inovasi rata rata 3,93. Variabel keberdayaan peternak memiliki rata rata 3,96. Simpulan penelitian ini keberdayaan secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh faktor karakteristik peternak, peran, kinerja dan inovasi TS.Kata kunci: purposive sampling, google form, analisis deskriptif, kemitraan broiler, keberdayaan peternak AbstractThe research to analyze factors of empowerment broiler chicken partnership. Primary data retrieval method uses a googleform-based questionnaire with a likert scale. The method of analysis is descriptive analysis. The resulte characteristics of age 31-40 years (39.31%), Education of senior high school 77 people (53.1%), the experience is 5 years 88 people (60.69%). The number of pen 1-2 is 119 people (82.07%) and the type of open house is 103 people (71.03%). The main job is a farmer of 107 people (73.79%) with the majority income above 10,000,000 per period amounting to 61 people (42.07%). The length of partnering majority is <3 and >6 periods amounting to 50 people (34.48%). Technical service value variable, the role variable is 4.00, performance variable is 3.92 and the innovation variable is 3.93. The farmer empowerment variable has an average of 3.96. Abstract

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic that has emerged since the end of 2019 has threatened the issue of household food security. For this reason, food security must begin to be increased at the household level, both in rural and urban areas. Urban Farming is a concept of cultivating food crops carried out in urban areas. So far, urban farming has become a trend for food fulfillment in urban areas for plant and environmentalists due to technology that allows cultivation on limited land and with an aesthetic touch. With the Covid-19 pandemic, urban farming must be organized more seriously to achieve food security. For this reason, the authors with the Women Farmers Group (KWT) Ireng Manis from Temu Ireng hamlet, Tegal Gede village, Karanganyar regency will initiate an independent village based on urban farming to realize food security. The method used in this activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Participatory Rural Appraisal is an approach method in the process of empowering and increasing community participation, which emphasizes community involvement in the overall program of activities. There are four stages planned in this program, including: 1). socialization of urban farming concepts and provision of cultivation techniques for members of KWT Ireng Manis, 2). Arrangement of cultivation area with functional aesthetic concept, 3). Launching and promotion through social media, You Tube, print and online mass media, 4). Abstrak Pandemi Covid-19 yang muncul sejak akhir tahun 2019 telah mengancam isu ketahanan pangan tingkat rumah tangga. Untuk itu, kemandirian pangan harus mulai ditingkatkan kembali di level rumah tangga baik di pedesaan maupun perkotaan. Urban Farming merupakan suatu konsep budidaya tanaman pangan yang dilakukan di perkotaan. Selama ini urban farming menjadi tren pemenuhan pangan di perkotaan untuk para pencinta tanaman dan lingkungan dikarenakan teknologi yang memungkinkan budidaya di lahan terbatas dan dengan sentuhan estetik. Dengan pandemic Covid-19, urban farming harus diorganisir dengan lebih serius untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan. Untuk itu tim pengusul bersama dengan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Ireng Manis Dukuh Temu Ireng, Kelurahan Tegal Gede, Kabupaten Karanganyar akan melakukan inisiasi desa mandiri berbasis Urban Farming untuk Mewujudkan ketahanan pangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Participatory Rural Appraisal merupakan suatu metode pendekatan dalam proses pemberdayaan dan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, yang tekanannya pada keterlibatan masyarakat dalam keseluruhan program kegiatan. Terdapat empat tahapan yang direncanakan dalam program ini, meliputi: 1). sosialisasi konsep urban farming dan pembekalan teknik budidaya bagi anggota KWT Ireng Manis, 2). Penataan areal budidaya dengan konsep estetik fungsional, 3). Launching dan promosi melalui sosial media, You Tube, media massa cetak dan online, 4). Pendaftaran hak cipta dan diseminasi/ publikasi hasil program. Manfaat dari program ini adalah terwujudnya desa mandiri berbasis urban farming untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan.
