Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to write procedure texts and Lack of student interest in writing procedure text. The purpose of this study is first, to describe the use of image media in the ability to write procedural texts for class XI students of SMA Ekasakti. Second, to describe the use of audiovisual media in writing procedural texts for class XI students of SMA Ekasakti. Third, describe the differences in the use of image media and audiovisual media in the ability to write procedural texts for class XI students of SMA Ekasakti Padang. This type of research is quantitative with a comparative method. The research data are in the form of test results for writing procedural texts. The population in the study were all students of class XI totaling 38 students. Sampling was carried out with a total sampling of 38 students consisting of two class XI IPA 20 students and class XI IPS 18 students. The research instrument was in the form of a procedural text writing ability test. The results showed that first, the use of image media in writing procedure text in class XI IPS SMA Ekasakti was in the medium category (40.7%) with an average value of 66.00. Second, the use of audiovisual media in class XI IPA SMA Ekasakti is in the high category (54.4%) with an average score of 79.00. Third, there is a difference between students writing procedure texts for class XI SMA Ekasakti students using audio-visual media (79.00) and picture media (66.00).

Abstract

This research is motivated by a document review conducted related to several scientific articles of students. Based on this, it is known that the writing of scientific articles does not meet the standards of writing standard Indonesian. Some errors in the use of Indonesian Spelling, one of which is the placement of writing prepositions is not in accordance with standard Indonesian writing. Students consider that prepositions are not important to pay attention to so that students ignore writing in the use of prepositions. Several other studies have shown that the use of prepositions has not been mastered by elementary school students in writing narrative essays. This research was conducted by Ngaisah and Sugiarti in 2018. So, it can be concluded that prepositions have been taught starting from elementary school level. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are sentences that use prepositions in scientific articles written by students of Ekasakti University. The data source in this study is the scientific articles of students of Ekasakti University. The data collection technique in this study is the document search technique. The steps in data collection are: First, data is collected by selecting and collecting several scientific articles of students of Ekasakti University. Second, the author analyzes the use of prepositions in scientific articles of students. The findings and discussion show that students are still unable to use prepositions according to their function and writing. Students make several mistakes in writing single prepositions, namely in the use of the prepositions di and ke. Mistakes are also found in the use of combined prepositions that do not match their function, such as the use of the prepositions from…until.

Abstract

Literature learning is a means to provide students with an understanding of gender perspectives. This study aims to describe the forms of gender discrimination that occur in the Kartini novel by Adibah El Khalieqy (2) The relevance of gender perspective studies to literature learning at the secondary school level. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection techniques in the form of reading and note-taking techniques. The data source used in this study is the literary work of the Kartini novel by Adibah El Khalieqy. Data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences containing statements of gender discrimination in the Kartini novel by Adibah El Khalieqy. Results The results of the study show that 1) Gender discrimination generally occurs in all female characters in the novel. Ngasirah (Kartini's biological mother), Kartini, and Kardinah. Forms of gender discrimination include marginalization, subornation, stereotypes, and violence. 2) The study of feminism in the Kartini novel regarding gender perspective is quite relevant to literature learning at the secondary school level with the Brainstorming learning method.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the assumption of students who say that the use of conjunctions is easy and trivial. Learning about conjunctions is taught together with several other language skills learning such as writing and reading. Learning is more focused on learning language skills only. Meanwhile, linguistic rules are often neglected in learning. The purpose of this research is to analyze the use of conjunctions in the theses of students of Indonesian language and literature education program of Ekasakti University. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study are conjunctions used in the theses of students at Ekasakti University. The data collection technique in this research is a document search technique. Through documents. Data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation with the help of data recording tables, and drawing conclusions. Data validity is carried out by triangulating sources and theories, namely testing the validity of data using theories and sources relevant to the object. The result shows that there is an inaccurate use of conjunction in the thesis of Ekasakti University students. The inaccurate use of conjunctions is mostly found in the use of subordinative conjunctions. Students are not able to place the conjunction according to the function of the conjunction. Even students have not fully paid attention to the difference in writing conjunctions within sentences and between sentences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh, bahwa kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini mendapat penghargaan SEA Write Award dari Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan pada tahun 2017. Kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini memudahkan pembaca asing dalam memahaminya, karena dalam kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini mempunyai dua bahasa, yaitu bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, tahap-tahap dan kondisi kejiwaan penyair perlu diketahui oleh penikmat sastra maupun masyarakat umum, agar penikmat sastra maupun masyarakat umum lebih mudah dalam memahami puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tahap-tahap dan kondisi kejiwaan penyair dalam penciptaan kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak, teknik catat, teknik rekam, dan teknik pustaka. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menyimpulkan atau verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini, diperoleh bahwa kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line merupakan pengalaman pribadi dari penyair Rusli Marzuki Saria. Kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line memiliki struktur batin. Bagian dari struktur batin puisi ada tiga, yaitu tema, nada, dan amanat. Dalam kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini ada bermacam-macam tema dan dalam kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini mempunyai berbagai nada, serta dalam kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria ini banyak mengandung amanat. Selain itu, Rusli Marzuki Saria memiliki kepribadian kreatif seperti: (a) imajinatif, (b) berprakarsa, berinisiatif (dapat memulai sesuatu sendiri), (c) mempunyai minat yang luas, keterbukaan terhadap rangsangan yang baru, (d) mandiri, berpikiran luas (bebas) dalam berpikir, (e) rasa ingin tahu yang kuat, (f) jiwa kepetualangan, (g) penuh (gairah) semangat, energik, (h) percaya diri, (i) bersedia mengambil resiko, dan (j) berani dalam berkeyakinan. Selain itu, proses kreatif dalam penciptaan kumpulan puisi One by One, Line by Line karya Rusli Marzuki Saria mengalami empat tahap psikologis dalam proses kreatif penciptaan puisi, yaitu; preparasi, inkubasi, iluminasi, dan evaluasi/verifikasi.

Abstract

Pembaca tidak dapat menerima pesan-pesan dengan baik. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang pahamnya pembaca terhadap praanggapan yang bisa membuat kesalahpahaman makna. Kesalahpahaman makna dapat menyebabkan bertujuan umtuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis praanggapan dalam novel Jejak Sang Pencerah karya Didik L. Hariri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan tokoh dalam bentuk kalimat, kata, frasa, klausa yang mengandung praanggapan dalam novel ” Jejak Sang Pencerah” karya Didik L. Hariri. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, data yang terdapat praanggapan dalam novel Jejak Sang Pencerah karya Didik L. Hariri sebanyak 86 data yaitu: (1) Praanggapan eksistensial terdiri dari 21 data, (2) praanggapan faktif terdiri dari 4 data, (3) praanggapan leksikal terdiri dari 19 data, (4) praanggapan struktural terdiri dari 39 data,(5) praanggapan nonfaktif terdiri dari 2 data dan (6) praanggapan kontrafaktual terdiri dari 1 data.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh  mahasiswa mengangap bahwa menulis makalah adalah sesuatu yang sulit sehingga banyak dari mahasiswa yang melakukan copy paste makalah dari internet. Makalah yang dikerjakan belum sesuai dengan penulisan makalah yang baik dan benar. Bahasa yang digunakan dalam makalah banyak belum sesuai dengan kaidah ejaan bahasa Indonesia. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga belum terlihat mampu menggunakan kalimat dengan logis dan efektif. Beberapa penelitian yang pernah meneliti mengenai kalimat efektif diantaranya penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Damyanti (2020) penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan kalimat tidak efektif dalam karya tulis ilmiah mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kalimat tidak efektif pada karya ilmiah mahasiswa Prodi Manajemen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kalimat yang digunakan dalam makalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan satra Indonesia universitas ekasakti. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu makalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan satra Indonesia Universitas Ekasakti. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik penelusuran dokumen. Adapun langkah-langkah dalam pengumpulan data yakni Pertama, data dikumpulkan dengan cara memilih dan mengumpulkan beberapa makalah mahasiswa Prodi pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Ekasakti. Kedua, Penulis menganalisis penggunaan kalimat dalam makalah mahasiswa. Hasil temuan dan pembahasan menunjukkan mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia masih belum menggunakan kalimat dengan efektif. Mahasiswa melakukan sebelas pola kesalahan dalam penulisan kalimat sehingga kalimat menjadi tidak efektif dan kurang dipahami pembaca, diantaranya menggunakan dua kata yang bermakna sama, penggunaan kata dengan struktur dan ejaan yang tidak baku, dan pilihan kata yang tidak tepat.
