Abstract

BeFind is a website-based application that facilitates the public and sports instructors to be able to interact and transact with each other. However, the website has deficiencies such as incomplete features and inflexible use, so it is necessary to design a mobile-based application to optimize the features. The purpose of this research is to produce UI and UX model designs that apply the Design Thinking method and to find out the results of usability testing. Design Thinking is a product design process resulting from problem-solving efforts that arise from potential product users. Empathy stage, conduct interviews to get problems. The define stage is carried out by creating a user persona from the results of the interview. The ideate stage is carried out by brainstorming to compile user flow. The prototype stage is made in the form of a mockup design and a prototype design is prepared. The test phase was carried out to test the design with task scenarios on 4 usability aspects and 1 aspect using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. In the final test for service seekers and service providers respondents obtained 97% and 96% learnability results, efficiency 0.033689182 goals/sec and 0.033689182 goals/sec, 96% and 95% memoryability, 0.0306 and 0.0800 errors, and satisfaction with SUS obtained 94 results with the best imaginable predicate. In efficiency there is a decrease in yield caused by a bad signal factor. The resulting UI and UX can become the foundation for development of the "BeFind" mobile application based on the prototype design that has been designed in this study.

Abstract

As digital technology advances, online competition intensifies, yet many SMEs lack reliable, user-friendly systems. SME development often skews toward back-end optimization, while user-centered front ends remain underexplored. This study addresses that gap by designing and evaluating the front end of CV Bello Design’s digital design-asset sales platform and distilling UI/UX decisions transferable to similar SMEs. Using a Human-Centered Design (HCD), we mapped problems with the owner, staff, and past buyers, translated insights into personas and user flows, and iterated prototypes for customer and admin roles. Usability was assessed through user testing measuring effectiveness and satisfaction. In addition, a Heuristic Evaluation was conducted by experts to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement. Test results show customer effectiveness of 93.75% and admin effectiveness of 95%. Relative efficiency reached 0,02948 goals/second for customers and 0,00939 goals/second for admins. Overall, users reported positive satisfaction. Heuristic findings highlighted needs for a login form, clearer transaction details and history, consistent currency symbols, richer product detail views, clear required-field cues, and an FAQ. Implemented fixes clarified transaction pages, standardized currency symbols, added required-field indicators, and provided an FAQ. Overall, the HCD-based interface measurably improves task completion and offers reusable design patterns for SME, web-based asset-sales platforms.

Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes is one of the most common diseases people suffer from today, and it can lead to complications such as blindness, heart disease, and kidney failure. The condition of blindness caused by this disease is known as diabetic retinopathy (DR). An ophthalmologist will use a fundus camera to examine the retina, looking for several clinical features, such as microaneurysms (MA), hemorrhages (HM), cotton-wool spots (CWS), and exudates. Based on these clinical symptoms, clinicians then determined the patient's level of diabetic macular edema (DME) severity. Although several studies have applied CNN-based architectures for diabetic retinopathy detection, limited attention has been given to the impact of dataset imbalance handling on DME severity classification, particularly using ResNet-50. This study highlights the significant impact of extensive data augmentation on classification performance in imbalanced DME datasets. Evaluate performance using the accuracy, precision, and recall metrics. We used the IDRiD dataset, which consists of 516 images split into a training set of 413 and a test set of 103. IDRiD divides the dataset into three classes, namely normal, moderate DME, and severe DME. In the preprocessing stage, we enhanced contrast using CLAHE and resized the images to 224x224 pixels. To address the imbalance, we applied 11 data augmentation methods. We experimented by comparing the performance of two models: one with and one without dataset augmentation. Based on the test results, the best performance was obtained with the model that included dataset augmentation, achieving an accuracy of 0.5961, a precision of 0.63, and a recall of 0.61, while the baseline model (without dataset augmentation) gained 0.4553, 0.36, and 0.34 for the accuracy, precision, and recall, respectively.
