Abstract

Management of The Borobudur Cultural Landsape, currently, only focus on the Borobudur Temple Compounds, while its hinterland including the surrounding communities are ignored. The management model is fragmented under three ministries, making it difficult for the coordination and synchronization. Management model like this is regarded as inefficient, ineffective, inharmonious and unfair, giving rise to the conflict. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the management model of The Borobudur World Heritage Site appropriate to eliminate conflicts and resolve the problems of benefit redistribution among stakeholders. Data collecting in this study is done by observation and survey, followed by braistorming, expert meetings and focus group discussions. The research results showed that the management of the Borobudur World Heritage Site needs to be done in a single management, unified, integrated, holistic, multi-stakeholders (central and local government, business and local communities) by way of a shared-responsibility. The governing body of the Borobudur World Heritage Site, according to the contitution, it should be the government organ that is autonomous or semi-autonomous and its primary purpose is preservation.  Based on various inputs and considerations as well as the prevalence in the management of cultural heritage around the world, then the governing body of the Borobudur World Heritage Site are: (1) work unit with the Financial Application Pattern (FAP) of Public Service Agency (PSA) has a priority status; (2) a regular working unit, status avoided wherever possible; and (3) the State company (in the form of a limited liability company) status is not recommended.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to select the management zone to avoid the deterioration of environmental goods, by conducting comparative value of the economic benefits of conservation between management focused on the monument that pay attention only to the entire ecosystem of Borobudur Regions. Two hundred tourists who came to Borobudur or Jogjakarta were obtained as samples. Data were collected using interviews with structured questionnaire. Afterward, we used contingent valuation method (CVM) to calculate the value of the economic benefits and we measured the total value of the individual consumer's willingness to conserve the heritage under several scenarios of hypothetical market. The results testify that the value of theeconomic benefits of Borobudur area conservation reached US$4.2 billion per annum or around IDR40.1 trillion. Thisvalue reflects that the area of Borobudur is important to be preserved. Such values can be operationally useful when planning and management have been conducted comprehensively. The implication of this is that government should forma new governing body that is integrated in one management, holistic, involving multi-stakeholders both central and local governments and local communities. Organizations like these need to be run with the principle of shared responsibility and independence in .financial. Therefore, as a World Heritage icon, the vision of the management of Borobudur area was needed to experience metamorphosis, from initially focus on short-term profits through increased tourism market, shifted to the achievement of long-term prosperity based conservation and education.

Abstract

This study analyzes price transmission along Indonesia’s cooking-oil value chain using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) models expressed in Unrestricted Error-Correction (UECM) form, which separates short-run dynamics from long-run equilibrium relationships. Monthly data from January 2016 to May 2023 are employed, covering stable conditions as well as the 2022 cooking-oil crisis. The dataset comprises international crude palm oil (CPO) benchmark prices (deflated and JISDOR FX rate-adjusted), domestic wholesale bulk prices, and retail bulk prices, alongside policy dummies for the export-ban/DMO window and the post-2022 MGKR regime. Results reveal a sharp asymmetry between upstream and downstream stages. In the upstream link, CPO price shocks are transmitted quickly but only partially: the long-run pass-through is β = 0.420, with an immediate impact of 0.131 and a very high adjustment speed (λ = –0.639), implying a half-life of only 0.68 months. By contrast, the downstream link is characterized by amplification and sluggish adjustment. Retail prices exhibit an exaggerated long-run pass-through (β = 2.34), weak contemporaneous transmission (0.104), and slow convergence (λ = –0.143), with a half-life of 4.49 months and overshooting in lagged responses. These findings underscore the resilience of wholesale markets and the vulnerability of retail segments.

Abstract

Household entrepreneurship plays a strategic role in promoting inclusive rural economic development. However, entrepreneurial activities in rural areas continue to face various constraints, particularly limited access to finance, low levels of financial literacy, and financial exclusion. With the rapid development of digital financial inclusion, these barriers have gradually been reduced through the expansion of technology-based financial services. This community service activity aims to strengthen rural household entrepreneurship through mentoring on the utilization of digital financial inclusion and e-commerce. The implementation method consists of two stages: a pre-activity survey to obtain a descriptive overview of the relationship between trust and digital financial inclusion, followed by entrepreneurial mentoring activities. The survey and mentoring results indicate that the use of digital financial inclusion facilitates entrepreneurial decision-making, alleviates financing constraints, and encourages innovative behavior among household entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the integration of digital financial services with e-commerce serves as a catalyst for expanding market access and enhancing the sustainability of rural household businesses. This community service activity provides practical implications for strengthening community entrepreneurial capacity and supports the formulation of empowerment programs based on digital transformation to foster more inclusive and sustainable rural economic growth.

Abstract

Regional development banks (BPDs) are essentially designed as regional development agents and dedicated to create employment, alleviate poverty, and reduce disparity at the regional level. In the context of banking operations, BPDs are expected to become regional champions in their respective regions. This expectation can be met only if BPDs are able to compete with the other types of commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions, including rural banks and financial technology companies. This research was aimed at comparing the financial performance of BPDs and the banking industry in Indonesia. A descriptive approach was used to analyze the current secondary data gathered from the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK). The results have shown that, in general, the average financial performance of all BPDs was lower than that of the banking industry. However, the group of smallest BPDs had a higher growth compared to the banking industry. Keywords: Banking Industry, Financial Performance, Regional Development Banks.

There are eight trends that could encourage gastronomy as cultural tourism attraction i.e. trading up, multiculturalism, media communication, demographics and household change, communities’ involvement, glocalization (globalization with local flavor), product quality, and ecofriendly product. Beside that, need to protect against the diversity of local food, and improve the image of the non-rice food equivalent to the rice food.
