Abstract

The pride in the identity of a nation which is associated with the long history can be transformed into a valuable asset for both the present and the future. This can be achieved through the development of cultural heritage in the form of the artifacts owned. The diverse traditions associated with past legacies establish an inseparable connection between Indonesia and cultural history. An example of cultural heritage are the buildings that serve as evidence of the activities conducted in the past. Moreover, the influence of cultural, religious, and social systems caused by acculturation is evident in different forms of mosque buildings in Indonesia, specifically on Java Island. This can be observed from the adoption of ornaments in the Western period, starting from the 16th century. An example was the adoption of Padma Flower also known as the Lotus and Red Lotus by mosque buildings during the early introduction of Islam. The flower is also found in the house of worship, the Gedhe Kauman Mosque in Yogyakarta, built in 1773 AD by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono 1. Therefore, this research aimed to explain (1) the form of Padma Flower ornaments based on the shape, and (2) the changes in the form with subsequent influence on the present design. A qualitative method with a Visual Adaptation strategy was used to describe and analyze the form of the flower to determine the formulation process. The adaptation of Padma Flower ornaments in different places was expected to assist the process of using motif as a reference in the field of art and design.

Abstract

Secara prinsip, desainer interior memiliki upaya untuk memecahkan sebuah permasalahan yang ada dan berkaitan dengan bagian dalam sebuah ruangan. Desainer interior dapat membuat sebuah konsep yang sesuai dengan karakter dan kebutuhan atas permasalahan yang dibutuhkan oleh pengguna rumah tinggal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai pedoman untuk merumuskan konsep dalam perancangan interior rumah tinggal bagi dunia Pendidikan didalam perkuliahan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Dengan mengumpulkan data dari litelatur didapatkan teori yang akan digunakan yang terkait kemudian dilakukan analisis melalui 3 tahap yaitu reduksi data, display data, dan verivikasi. Hasil pada penelitian ini merupakan sebuah perumusan konsep berupa tahapan strategi pembagian tahapan analisis, sintesis, dan evaluasi bagi desainer dan juga mahasiswa untuk menjadi acuan dalam pembuatan konsep perancangan rumah tinggal. Abstract

PAUD Kutilang is one of the kindergartens (PAUD) located in Petir Village, Kadugenep, Banten Regency, which currently has 40 students divided into 3 groups: Play Group, Group A, and Group B. The pre-existing conditions after the PKM (Community Service) Team conducts a situation analysis and approaches to needs and problems, the team found several problems: 1) the school does not have a work storage facility, 2) the lack of book storage facilities, and 3) educational toy storage. Therefore, the steps taken focus on adding facilities and educating students about position placement using ergonomic and anthropometric standardization appropriate for PAUD students. The purpose of this PKM activity is to help create comfort in classroom activities through the addition and improvement of supporting facilities for teaching and learning activities to improve thinking, reading skills, and learning enthusiasm for the students of PAUD Kutilang, Banten with the expertise of each member involved in this PKM activity. This PKM activity resulted in the addition of a facility that is used to increase the creativity of Kutilang PAUD students in carrying out teaching and learning activities in the classroom, not forgetting that the PKM Team also provides a little knowledge about ergonomics for children to provide new insights for teachers in classroom activities. Hopefully, this PKM activity can increase new insights and experiences for students and teachers at PAUD Kutilang Banten

Abstract

Mental health challenges in Indonesia necessitate enhanced psychosocial rehabilitation services in psychiatric hospitals. This study designs yoga and pottery art spaces at Soeharto Heerdjan Psychiatric Hospital using wabi-sabi design principles to support therapeutic recovery. A qualitative case study methodology was employed, following Rosemary Kilmer's interior design framework. Data collection included field observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis, with thematic analysis applied to findings. The design demonstrates that wabi-sabi principles is natural materials, neutral colors, and acceptance of imperfection create therapeutic environments promoting healing, emotional comfort, and patient self-acceptance. The yoga room incorporates therapeutic elements including natural lighting and organic textures, while the pottery art room facilitates creative expression through ergonomic furniture and meaningful art installations. This design serves as a model for humanistic therapeutic interior design in mental health facilities.
